:bounce Okay okay, so I finally saved up money (I am a 15 yr. old) which I normally do not do.

So I wanna know if I should buy either:

1. Time in a recording studio
2. a Ukulele, mandolin, and lap steel slide guitar
3. Or anything you guys want to suggest

I am having a very hard time deciding, so please help my mind which I left at school before break think of something.

donate it to ants. :)

otherwise, i would say get one of the "other" types of guitars.

at this point in society, recording studio time is pointless unless you are very different than all the other musicians out there.

Well I would... but I mean I already gave 50 out of the 400 to the Tsunami's

And I just wanted to record with my band to spread it about my school (or any in RI for that matter) because i mean we have gigs already..

Also i was planning on buying ALL of those instruments..

recording studios are obsolete imo. hell, go to goodwill and buy a five dollar cassette recorder. if it's recording time you want then i would use the money to build a computer for recording. (you could build a stable recording computer with the 350 bucks) wala! all the f-ing time you want son!

Finding the soundproof room is the problem.

But I agree that unless you have a whole bunch of originals you wanna lay down multiple tracks for, it's useless.

Like others suggested you could buy stuff to record on your computer. If you are playing live and dont have everyone miced up and run through a PA yet you could start buying equipment towards that (mics, PA, mixer). If you already have everything running through a PA for recording purposes you can just record the feed coming out of your soundboard/mixer/whatever you are using with a tape deck or laptop or minidisc or something and just burn some CDs on your computer of live recordings to circulate around your school. Great way to spread your music, buy a 100 pack of CDs on sale for $20-30 or whatever they cost anymore. Burn them all with a 3 song demo from a live or homemade studio recording and just walk around your school and give them out to people so they can hear you and hopefully want to check out one of your shows.
