you speed up a little bit during it, but pretty good.
also, try playing the whole thing just a little bit slower. let the vocals be sung more, not spoken. :)

First, don't take anything I say too personal... I'm just trying to help. On top of everything, thanks for the recording... I've always loved the song and the cover wasn't bad at all. Also, Frank's gotta good voice on him. Way to go on taking the time / having the initiative to do this -- I wish I could make myself record more often.
As far as the guitar stuff, I'd rework the solo part. I can't solo worth a damn and sure as hell can't write them, so it's not like I'm bashing it, but it would be more interesting if it was a little less simple. If you're keeping the solo as written, re-record it to get the timing down.
As far as the recording in general, I'm gonna be picky. Ignore it if you're not that serious about it. There's an irritating dropout at 1:34. Yes, I know it's 'supposed' to do that, but not go dead silent. It's unnatural. If it's an edit, if you gated that part, or if you just silenced that area on purpose, fix it. Also, at 2:46 the track gets noisy. I presume it's for the guitar solo (overdubbed)? If you're serious enough to add fills or rhythm, you're serious enough to remove the noise. Finally, I think the ending is faded out too abruptly. Hold that chord until it's totally dead... then fade out only what is necessary.
Hope this helps.

thanks for the response. we figured you'd say everything you did in the 3rd paragraph. that was only the 3rd time we actually got through playin the whole thing. there are actually bends and such within the solo that makes it more lively, so hopefully when we try again you'll notice the difference.
we're doing this for our talent show, so the noise thing is not really an issue. we had to use 1 mic because my pickup wont be installed until next week.

Oh, well if the technical sound of the recording doesn't matter, then it's badass -- especially if you get that solo down. Rock on.

:lol :thumbsup thanks. we were think of doing an acapella "champagne supernova" intro. and transitioning with this part into the song:
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky
How many special people change?
How many lives are living strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where oh where is my wonder wall? (hold that wall note)

not a bad cover at all, I would try to clean up the recording a bit. It has a lot of noise and static which Im sure you are aware of. I would also crank the vocals up a bit as they get drowned out by the guitar. Invest in a good microphone like large diaphram condensor and that should work wonders. Good job all in all keep it up!!

we have no need for a high quality recording, thanks though :)

Very nice i've always loved this song, but like others have said, the solo part doesn't sound very fluid, the timing is off.
One question... whats the strumming pattern for this, cus i've tried playing it but i've never been able to get it down.
Again very nice work

i couldn't tell you the pattern. just open the song in some recording software and slow it down

Hey people, I'm Frank and I'm new to the forum, and I like what I see here. Thanks for your comments and keep them coming, I'm sure me and John will have another (hopefully better) copy out some time this week. And Ennix, the strumming pattern, it isnt too hard, but heres how I play it for the verse, you should be able to figure out the rest.
>=Down strum
^=Up strum
*=New Note
* * * *
>>>>^>^>>>^>^>>>^^^>^>^
I'm sure that if you just listen to it closely you could figure it out yourself, and im pretty sure I added a couple strums in there that don't belong, but sounds fine along with it.;)

hey frank.
i always hate explaining strumming patterns. just listen to the song, you'll get it.
whatever.
well that was odd.
