I was wondering if someone could post up a good jam for watchtower? I play the barred chord version and it gets a little repetative. I would of course like a simple jam because I don't play well enough to get into some complex jam. Thanks for any help!

like a solo or chorded jam? when i used to play just rhythm guitar, i'd just let someone solo over the Am > G > F progression. If I was you..i don't know. not much to do with it that is just simple.

Lets do a chorded jam, I'm not very good at soloing, and when I play with other friends I'm always the rhythm guitarist. I've been playing for a year and half or so, just not too good at making up my own parts for songs. Someone was talking about using the Penatonic (sp) scale on the 5th fret (which is Am right?)

well, fifth fret is A. Am chord is 577555, or
e-5
B-5
G-5
D-7
A-7
E-5
i've played around with this for a few minutes, and came up with this:
e--------3
B-1(((()--0
G-2(((()--0
D-2(((()--0
A---------2
E---------3
e--------1-
B-1(((()--1-
G-2(((()--2-
D-2(((()--3-
A---------x-
E---------x-
( = down strum
) = up strum
you could do that ^, which is kinda a back and forth thing...or you could just slowly speed up your strumming until you're blazing fast...then just stop it abruptly. Also, some other tips are to do stop-time with your chords..which is like strumming a chord..*pause*..chord..*pause*..

Thanks for the help! I don't have time to take lessons again but wished I did. The last guy that I took lessons from, all he wanted to do was talk about sports, I'll never take lessons from a fan again!

haha. well, one tip, for any "jam"...build it up..either with speed, or just going up chords..just make sure they're the right chords. in this case, use the Aminor scale:
A B C D E F G A..use any of those chords...I'd suggest using the Am > G > F like the song..but there's a few things you could do.

Yeah I've been playing with the tempo at certain parts. Just something to jazz it up when I play it alone. I really appreciate all the help!
