help with my loop pedal please!!

I got a boss RC-20xl for christmas. anyway, I have been messing with it and having a lot of fun with it, just using the main function. For some reason I can't find the users manuel, and I just turned it on and have been trying to use it; the tap tempo is coming through the amp very loudly, like a bass drum. I can't get it to turn off, and I can't hear the guitar over it.

does anyone know how to fix this?

:thumbsup got the same one about a month ago and had the same problem. It's so much fun having this, I like to loop some stuff together then play my drums along with it, so much fun. Thanks to Howie for the idea.

a freind of mine has one of these babys. kicks ass. timed correctly, it can be a devestating peice of macinery. ;)
