Wow. They served Ziggler up to Orton?
Ziggler's title time happens after WM. it isn't a big deal to have Orton win clean. plus, it's a way to try and get SD ratings. besides, someone puts Ziggler over at WM, possibly Foley.
WM rematch?
I just don't understand what else they could do in another match. add HBK as a ref and make it a casket match... but still what the hell else happens DURING the match?! I'm also confused as to why Taker would be the one challenging HHH. At this point you'd think the angle would have to be somebody else doing the challenging. unless they say it's because HHH almost ended his career.

great RAW tonight from damn near top to bottom. Orton/Ziggler & Punk/DBryan were both very good matches. Clay squash is starting to get old, but the crowd seems to get behind the gimmick more and more each week. It's amazing how this show feels like it has been booked for days, and the Rumble felt like it was booked a few hours before the event. I know WWE does things last minute, but it goes to show how quality matters more then timing.

I'm fine with Haitch vs. Taker again. I mean who else would face him at this point? I'd like to see Cena/Punk/Jericho/Rock face him, but they are in matches with each other. Pointless to put a younger guy in that spot because I don't think any of them are ready to end the streak. Kane? No way. They had one of the best matches ever last year. Even though we know the outcome let them do it again. You know it will be an incredible match to add to what should be a great 'Mania.

Ok, just got a chance to sit down and put out my thoughts on going to the Rumble.
First off let me preface that I had an absolute blast over the weekend and the spectacle of the event was amazing.
That being said, I was underwhelmed by the actual event. I had built it up in my head so much that it wasn't to live up to my expectations but still the overall wrestling was not what I wanted.
Bryan's win was what I expected with Henry's injury. Lots of laying around. Bryan took a crazy amount of bumps during the match. It turned into "throw Bryan into the cage-a-thon" There was a very loud Sexual Chocolate chant, funny.
Didn't see the Divas match, thank god.
Kane/Cena was more of a story than a match. The choke slam was incredibly high though.
It is amazing how much Brodus jiggles.
Dolph/Punk could have been SO great but it just lacked that something extra. The first 10 minutes had some fantastic wrestling but after watching Bryan/Punk from monday, that was what it should have been. I will say that the difference in the crowd from 6 months ago is very dramatic in favor of Punk. Could have just been that it was a PPV but there were twice the amount of Punk shirts as Cena/SCSA/Rock shirts.
The Rumble Match was fun. Foley/Santino (called that shit!!), Road Dog, and Booker got crazy pops. No reason for Cole and King. The Sheamus win totally shocked the crowd. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, assumed it was Jericho. Kind of confused as to why Miz and Rhodes lasted for as long as they did to just get dumped by Big Show.
I would give it a 5/10

Cena/Rock, Haitch/Taker and Punk/Jericho are 3 great matches. Throw in Sheamus/Bryan/Orton or whatever combo they decide to use, plus a possible MITB. Maybe Kane/Ryder. And whatever match Dolph/Cody/ADR/Christian/Miz/Truth are in will be good, I just hope it is not Dolph/Foley.

JacobLovesYou
01-31-2012, 01:12 PM
dolph/foley isn't even really a substantiated rumor, just pure speculation because of dolph getting involved in foley's bid to be in the rumble a few weeks ago. foley has recently said that he could see himself doing one more match (he actually name checked the miz as the guy he would prefer). more recently though, he's said that he'd want to lose 30lbs and could see it likely happening sometime after WM.

That hair was fake. I guarantee they write a head shaving bit into the story line somewhere. And honestly, I don't see an issue with HHH/Taker. Look at us... we're talking about who is going to win because we don't actually know where they are going with it. If it was Taker/Punk, Taker/Cena, Taker/ANY active superstar other than HHH, you would absolutely know the outcome. The truth is HHH is the only guy worthy of ending WWE storyline folklore, as stupid as you may think it is. The only other guy I could think of is Shawn, and that already happened twice.

Pretty sure he shaved his head again recently. I can see them making this a "rebirth" kind of thing and shaving his head will be in the storyline. That was definitely a terrible wig on Monday. Almost makes me think if he goes bald, they might try to tie Kane in.

I just help with these shows. I've done bunch of different thing with NEW. I started working with then when I was promoting shows. At one point I filmed the shows and produced the DVD. But, it became too mcuh travel. I've also produced commercials and produced the backstage promos.
Currently I just do online video and whatever needs to be done on the night of the shows. Sometimes it's wroking the meet and greets. Sometimes is working ringside; timekeeper/bell ringer. Depending on how many crew members highspots has I also will still work ringside camera. It all depends.
I'm looking forward working this double shot weekend. I met a bunch of guys running my own shows, but working for NEW I've been able to meet, talk to, and go out with some of favorite wrestlers past and present.
They put on great shows toop to bottom. If you are in the area I suggest checking one of these shows out. The one at the Mid-Hudson Civic center is going to get even bigger!

Chris Jericho was pegged to win this year's 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, but Triple H, who has gained even more influence behind the scenes, called for Sheamus to be the decided winner. The final decision was made last week. The two have been friends since the Irish grappler's promotion to the main roster in the summer of 2009 as the two workout together on the road. In an interview with Power Slam, he singled out the Celtic Warrior as a wrestler with potential..

All this is gonna do is stir the pot on other boards. After letting it set in, i feel like Sheamus was the right call. Smackdown needs some star power, bad, and having the RR winner on their show every week will help me thinks.

I have to disagree... no possible feud in WWE (if not all wrestling - but thats tough because Roode vs. Storm and Shelley vs. Aries are up there too) excites me more than the prospect of Punk vs. Jericho..

My main issue with the current state of affairs in the world of wrestling is that the in ring action seems lacking as of late. CM Punk has made it interesting for me lately, he's a well rounded worker and I'm always interested in what's going to happen when he's in a match/on TV.
I was a huge Taker mark when I was growing up, but for the past couple of years, it's the same thing over and over, he'll come back, work for a while, then take 5-12 months off. Even his recent return was, well, lacking for me. I just wasn't that interested in it, but that could all change.
And in comes Jericho, he's the same as CM Punk for me. He makes me want to see what he's going to do in the ring and outside of it. Where as he may not be 'fresh', he's always entertaining. So yes, I'm fine with Jericho being in the Title picture, I want to see him work with someone that will make me want to buy WM28.
And Jericho/Punk will do that.
Just my opinion.

For as great as impact looking from the UK this past week I can not understand putting the first 1 on 1 match between Storm and Roode on free Tv. Why does this company bother with PPV when its clear they are a TV driving company. They should have waiting till April for their first match imo.

Because they're contractually obligated to do a certain amount of PPVs each year?
Storm/Roode was something special for the UK crowd. Just because they had a 10-minute match on TV, doesn't mean they can't have a 25-minute match on PPV in a couple of months.

You don't really take two of the companys best wrestlers and have their first fight be on PPV. You work the matches on TV to build the feud and have it culminate in a hell of a PPV match. Look at Ziggler and Punk, they had some very good TV matches before their fight at RR

Backstage Heat On The Miz For R-Truth Accident In Match
by Justin LaBar
February 07, 2012
The MizLast night on RAW, R-Truth had to leave the main event after attempting a slingshot somersault onto The Miz. R-Truth ended up landing back first on the floor, slamming his head to the ground.
PWInsider.com is reporting The Miz is being blamed for the messed up spot. He got a lot of heat from WWE officials and specifically Triple H for not being in position to break R-Truth's fall.

I don't know if it is the fact that they are in front of a live audience that is truly excited to see their product or if they have improved but i was able to watch it for a solid 45 minutes. backstage segments were still cringe-worthy but the in ring stuff was solid. Might have to start paying attention again.
BTW i don't care what anyone says Velvet Sky and Christy Hemme are smokin.
I agree with every part of this statement especially the part about Velvet.
The thing about TNa is the in ring is has always been really good. The problem with them is the booking is just horrendous in my opinion.

their booking seemed pretty solid last night. I would like to put a lot of that credit on Prichard.

Roode is easily their biggest star right now, and it is well deserved. The guy is great. I have always been a Bobby Roode fan. Sting's Joker character is very enjoyable to me. I don't understand why people care that he ripped off TDK. He ripped the crow from The Crow and no one complained about that.
The Crow was a cult hit.
The Dark Knight is one of the 5 highest grossing films of all time.

It's more noticeable. No one cares about The Crow, largely because it was fucking awful.
Because Jake is a fuddy-duddy.

I guess, i think sting is doing a fine job of keeping it fresh and creative. It's all a matter of preferences though. I think his character makes up for his slumping in ring skills.

Actually the Sting "crow" thing was a big deal back then. Just wasn't internet boards to talk about it at the time.

I meant the movie. They cared way more about the character of Sting than they did that terrible movie.

I didn't mind the movie. It was made cult by Lee dying. Otherwise it might have faded away fast.

i'm going to extreme rules. the rosemont is only about a 2hr+ drive for my brother and i, so we'll be able to just come home afterwards. hoping for a few good WM rematches and a few good extreme rules spots.

Hopefully I can find a feed.

can you imagine if they brought Brock in and did an angle for Tyson for Mania since Tyson is coming in anyway for the Hall? If they set up an exhibition match w/Tyson and Brock under Cena and Rock, I'd predict 1.5 million buys easily. The publicity they'd get on that would be phenomenal.

Exactly. The CM Punk/Cena angle during the summer was great and then it fell flat on its face after Punk won in Chicago. I think Kane's return could have been a lot better if he just destroyed everyone and not just focused his attention on Cena because this is being dragged along horribly. I wish Mark Henry would have never gotten injured. He was being utilized perfectly as an unstoppable heel. There is so much more too I just don't feel like listing them all.
The only things the WWE are doing sort of correctly now are Brodus Clay (though he needs a real feud soon, maybe with Jack Swagger), Jericho's return, and Ziggler's rise to main event status.

- WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio blasted The Miz hard during an interview this weekend with 95.7 FM "The Game" to promote the Smackdown house show tour in Northern California.
When asked if there was a wrestler he hated in WWE, he instantly replied: "The Miz. I hate The Miz. This is not part of the show. I really dislike that guy. I've tried to punch him in the face several times, not in the ring, but outside the ring. He's like a little girl, he's always running away from me."
The hosts asked him if his hatred of The Miz stems from the fact that they both think highly of themselves. He responded: "I'm a real athlete. He's just a loud, stupid little kid. He was one of those guys who was probably bullied when he was in school and that's why now he's loud and wants to get attention. But, I'm the real deal."
In the beginning of the interview, he provided an update on his groin injury from two months ago: "I completely tore my groin, so you know, that's painful. They re-attached the muscle from my leg to my hip."
He added later that he prefers not to hang out with other wrestlers: "To be honest, I don't like most of the guys." When asked about wrestling groupies, he said: "It's interesting. That's all I'm going to say

According to a top level source in TNA, reports of Dave Lagana replacing Vince Russo as Head of Creative are incorrect.
Nick Paglino of WrestleZone.com has reported this afternoon that Vince Russo has been replaced in TNA with Dave Lagana in the creative structure. The story did not detail how Bruce Prichard, who was recently given the title of Head of Creative, fit into the new structure.
We are currently attempting to clarify what regarding the original report is incorrect, but our source who would know says the story as reported is not true.
We can report from another source that Dave Lagana is in Orlando for tonight's PPV, but Vince Russo is not. That may have led to speculation that Russo was replaced by Lagana.

I just started getting the ROH weekly shows in my local market on Saturday nights at 10pm. While the production values are lacking, I am sort of digging the shows. It has an Indy feel to it, but nothing else is on at 10pm on a Saturday night and it's not half-bad. Charlie Haas is almost unrecognizable.
