For someone who doesn't watch WWE on television anymore, this was well worth the two and a half hours.
Matt vs Jeff vs Edge TLC for the title at Wrestlemania anyone? Or just Matt vs Jeff, that would be cool too.
And I guess they're going Orton vs Cena. Meh.

I knew Orton would win. After kicking McMahon, I knew there'd be no way he gets fired. Then winning the rumble would mean he would have to stick around till at least WM25.
I told my dad that he'd win, but McMahon will make it a triple threat or something to lessen Orton's chances of taking it or something. I don't think it'll stay Orton vs. Cena (whom I wouldn't mind seeing lose before WM).

Yeah. No way they'd have Orton win at WM two years in a row. Orton vs Cena would be way too predictable going Cena's way.
I'm really excited to see where they're going with this Matt vs Jeff thing. I might just tune in.

Well I doubt Christian is coming back now, since everyone expected him to interfere in the Hardy/Edge match.
I thought it'd be him. Unexpected turn by Matt though. All in all, wasn't too bad, but would have liked to see HHH and Orton go at it one on one as well. But I'd say both big titles will change hands @ No Way Out.

Hacksaw kicked some ass though. That was cool. Not as cool as Santino breaking the record for being in the rumble for 1 second.
And whoever said Cody Rhodes isn't Dustys kid is wrong. He is 100% dustys kid

I thought Shane kicking Orton's ass was kind of weak for an ending. I could understand him whipping Rhodes and Dibiase's ass at once, but Randy's too?
I would've liked to see him start strong, then Orton lay him out to end it or something.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Shane or Steph join Legacy...they are 2nd (3rd) generation stars as well.
So how's WM shaping up?
Orton vs. Cena?
Rourke vs. Jericho?
Matt vs. Jeff?
Edge vs. H?
Michaels vs. JBL?
Pretty weak if you ask me. What they really need is one of the 2 dream matches left in this business...Hogan vs. Austin or Rock vs. HBK.

I still think there'll be another person in the WM main event, maybe HBK or something.
I imagine the McMahons are going to give Legacy some crazy matches and stuff in the coming weeks, like Vince used to do with Austin. I think I remember one PPV (but it might not have been) where Austin was booked in a handicap match against Kane and The Undertaker. Those were good matches.
Or they'll put Legacy in some crazy triple tag match at No Way Out or something, with Shane somewhere in there, although I'm not sure how much more he can give being almost 40.

Me too. All I caught was the last of that match and the Edge/Cena match. Edge won. Best parts of the match were:
Cena F-U'ing Edge into the crowd. He layed at least one person out. It looked totally unscripted.
Cena bulldogging Edge onto those big metal equipment bins from the crowd stairs.
Big Show interfered, and chokeslammed Cena through one of those huge stagelights. He burst both the outside glass and lightbulb, and set it on fire.
Other winners I remember:
Christian over Swagger
Matt Hardy said I Quit
Then Orton over HHH and this match.

Glad Randy Orton can be the heel champ, even though that opens up the possibility of Superman Cena coming to the rescue of Raw to win it back (Groan).

How bad? He just won the title, and it'd be stupid if they keep him out of action to heal and have nothing but talking for a couple weeks.
I like Orton, but they killed his storyline too quick, with him punting someone every week. He ended running out of people to keep it going. Shit, they had to bring Flair in to keep it interesting. I'm not surprised he only kept it a couple months.

I doubt it goes to Orton. It'd be dumb for the title switch, regardless of the fact Batista got injured and is the real reason. A third person has to be involved to try and cover up the real situation, and with HHH still shooting for 100 championship wins, I'd be shocked if it wasn't him who gets it tonight/soon.

I've been to several. It is a lot of fun, especially when it is a hot crowd...like at MSG. I've seen a few shows at Mohegan and it is a good arena to watch because it is small and you'll have a good view anywhere. The best one I went to was Survivor Series at MSG some years back, when HBK won the Elimination Chamber to capture his first title in years...

I've been to a ton of wrestling shows over the years. For $20 definitely worth it. I'll warn you though the crowds are mostly young kids and tons of rednecks/socially awkward people.
Side note I've watched the whole episode of ECW so far (first time since it re-debuted) and Jack Swagger, while rough around the edges has impressed me

The Orton/Cena match was actually pretty decent. It had some unscripted fan interference that really changed the match. Orton tried to get DQ'ed, and the match went on. He tried to get counted out, and the match went on. He then used the ropes to win, and the match continued. Then Cena had him in the STFU, and a fan jumped in the ring and put the crossface chickenwing on the ref, stopping the match. Cena broke the hold and was like, "WTF?", and Orton slid out of the ring trying to figure out what happened.
You could tell it was unscripted because the security guards dragged him and the ref out to seperate them and toss the fan, and Cena and Orton didn't know how to continue. So they restart, Orton slides out of the ring, chokes Cena with the ropes, jumps back in and RKO's him. Also, they didn't bother showing the replays or mentioning the fan (until the article the next day).
It was a pleasant surprise.
The Christian/Regal matched sucked balls though. The DX match was good, and the Punk/Hardy match was good too. It wasn't a Wrestlemania type PPV, but it wasn't too bad to be free.

Really? You sure about that? It seemed too random to be scripted, like Cena and Orton didn't know how to continue or play it off.
And how could you tell who it was? All they showed was the back of the guy's head.
I missed Raw last night though, so I guess it could be. I figured they'd have said something about it last night or the dude wouldn't have been escorted out had it been a scripted intereference.

I used to be in a writing community (efed) that had a lot of admirers within the WWE. The guy who was in charge was so high up in Microsoft that, one morning, he called Bill Gates "Bill". I thought that was pretty tough. He is one one of the VPs for Square Enix or whatever makes the Final Fantasy games.
Anyway, one of his side projects a few years ago being on the WWE writing team. He was the one who originally gave Randy Orton his breakthrough (when Orton was giving his percentage of recovery each week, etc). Mick Foley, Al Snow, D'Lo Brown, and a couple of others participated in the fed with us (Foley would call Travis and dictate his promos and such over the phone). We had a lot of our stuff show up on WWE TV. They enjoyed Scott Slugger and The Flying Frenchie the most. It was a lot of fun until wrestling got away from me.
The place restarted in 2009...check it out if you wish. It's at www.thefwo.com . There's also an iPhone app for it, I believe. Lots of good history, and some of the best writers I've ever been blessed to read. The stuff from 1999-2002 is amazing. Something for every genre.
(By the way, the guy I made was named "The Cult Icon" Jon Crisp. There's a strong rumor that my character was used for Edge's initial run to the top (when he was getting close to getting the title, only to see something minor screw him up...it caused him to snap...that was how I carried my character a year prior to this. Travis had told me they used elements of the story for Edge, which I thought was pure awesome. Guess it's why it's good to write...never know who's reading.)

From what I read, they showed the "crazy fan" quite a bit on camera. No organization would *ever* do this if it were unscripted.
There's a reason why they cut away from sporting events when this happens.

If anything, they should have better promos nowadays. I could spend a day watching Austin, Rock, Kurt Angle, and (old) DX promos.
Cody Rhodes last night was atrocious on the mic. His lisp kills any sort of heel aura, and he sounds like a goof. I know he can't really control it, but still... and then you got DX (again). 2 40 year old guys telling people to suck it. It doesn't work the same 15 years later guys.
Orton's are decent, although they've been lacking recently, but Cena's are always so boring. All he does is pander to the crowd and yell alot. He's not even funny.
It's obvious they aren't putting much stock into the matches too. Hornswoggle beating Chavo Guerrero like 6 times in a row? Those have been terrible. They have very few matches that I look forward to on Raw, outside of Legacy whooping Cena's ass.
ECW seems non-existent. Their brand is so bad, they don't even illicit reaction from the crowd at PPVs.
CM Punk isn't too bad on Smackdown as a heel, but again, very few matches I look forward to.
And like I mentioned earlier about a Submissions only PPV (Breaking Point), you could tell who would win the matches without even watching. The only one I guessed wrong on was the DX/Legacy match, and the Punk/Taker match. But look at the Cena/Orton match. Cena's total babyface guaranteed he'd win basically.
I'll watch Smackdown this Friday though to see how the Taker reacts to being screwed out of his title. I actually thought this was brilliant though, so they don't have the same "guy has been out of action for awhile, returns, and wins the title at the next PPV" (see Batista for the most recent instance of this happening).
One of the few things I do enjoy though is the new talent they have coming in, with Dibiase Jr, Rhodes, and Punk. They need to bring the ECW Hart Dynasty to one of the brands too.

So Takers Champ again? Whats gonna be the bs reason he loses the belt this time?
Vince, Punk and Bret Hart conspire to screw him out of it at Survivor Series.

Kofi's a Boston College grad and I see his dad (who works here) every day in the library. I feel like he is slowly moving up the ranks.

i know this may be a stretch and his mic skills are not nearly as good but.. i see kolfi as a modern day Rock or Shawn Michaels... he has the athletic ability to have great matches night in and night out.

I wanted them to actually wrestle each other a bit instead of Kofi eliminating Punk and then immediately finishing Orton.
The Taker/Y2J/Show match was pretty good though.

if they pushed cena any harder he would fall over... my god, the man has been in and out of the WWE Championship picture for the last 4 years and boy has it gotten stale... he has become the next hulk hogan, only the worst part is that he hasn't politicked his way into this role they have written him into this, ugh whatever.

the champ will have to be Heel before kofi makes a run for it it would be nice to see a random person take it from Cena not the usual really boring Orton/Cena feud
i do not believe so.. if they can they would have some 800 offenders.. and they would probably go after the people who run the site. i have used that before and i have never been reprimanded or anything.

I say the short term solution is bring in Sting for a fresh program with Cena. He can do a one year stint with WWE and have fresh programs w/everyone.
Rock guests host Raw in a month or so.

I'm pretty sure Sting said he would never work for the WWE because of how they disrespected the WCW people when they came over.

I think Sting's contract expired in October, unless he re-signed. I think Vince would give him a nice and cushy 8 month contract where he wouldn't have to tour, just PPV and TV shows, and in exchange he does the big WWE shows like Mania and goes into the WWE Hall of Fame. Hey, Nick Bockwinkle went in and he was a big star in the AWA.

i don't think he is worth it to vince, in vinces eyes they are doing just fine without him, now if someone like The Rock wanted to stake a full scale comeback i'm sure he would bite... HARD! he would have loved it if the rock never left.

you have to look at it from a merchandising point of view. Vince calls Sting every year trying to lure him as he's the only big name never to come to WWE. If Sting went, there are DVDs and books and all of that that Vince can push, plus the HOF.

Sting practically owns TNA with Angle. Why would he go back to somewhere where it is doubtful he would have a leading role?
