Whatever The Rock/Cena ends up being, I really hope it doesn't end up with The Rock respecting him. That'd be lame.
I think this will happen. Rock will be leaving WWE again for god knows how long. If WWE wants Cena as a face, Rock will put him over.
Completely different if WWE wants Cena heel.

There's not likely any other way it'd go. Cena can go heel, but as long as it's PG he won't be dropping his penis and whore laden raps when he had that gimmick.
Rock might be able to bury Cena (based on the reaction he got Monday), but why would you want to do that and without the intent of turning him heel? I'd think Rock would have to stay around to bolster the lost sales a heel Cena would do.
Which pretty much leaves the Rock and Cena to become friends by WM. I'd hate to see it happen, but unless Cena changes his persona I don't think any other way would really work. Rock endorses Cena and then (hopefully) the older crowd begins to accept him.

Anyone who thinks that The Rock is just going to rock bottom or people elbow Cena at the end of Wrestlemania is out of their mind.
The post above pretty much sums it all up. I said it before.. they can't turn Cena heel because they don't have one person in the company that could be slotted into the top babyface spot, at the moment.
Cena and Rock will shake hands on April 2nd and that'll be it.

Orton is the bad boy face. IMO the instant you turn cena heel and he becomes the top heel in the company, it instantly thrusts Orton to the top Face position in the company. Then you have guys like CM Punk and Miz lurking around to make both of their lives a living hell. Thus you have an interesting product again. (GASP!)

i think you will see a new direction in orton's character over the next month and a half when he is facing someone like CM Punk. He will need to fade out the Silent gimmick and become cocky and twisted again. CM Punk brings out some really good stuff in guys.

Giving away Raw results?
yes.
january 4, 1999, mankind wins the wwf championship on a taped raw with the help of steve austin. eric bischoff instructs tony schiavone to announce the raw results to the nitro audience:
"Fans, if you're even thinking about changing the channel to our competition, do not. We understand that Mick Foley, who wrestled here at one time as Cactus Jack, is gonna win their World title. Ha! That's gonna put some butts in the seats, heh"
schiavone did this again a few minutes later.
the wheels on the bus had been wobbly for awhile, but it is this moment that i feel the wheels came off, and it was only a matter of time (turned out to be just over two years) before wcw came to a crashing halt.
by having schiavone recite the raw main event outcome, nitro instantly lost hundreds of thousands of viewers, and they knew it within a few hours of airing. in my opinion it was the biggest mistake in was becoming an endless a series of them, highlighting just how arrogant and out-of-touch they were with their approach. one single sentence cost them not only their viewers, but money in the form of ad dollars and helped raw earn its highest rating ever up to that point (and raw never again lost to nitro, though to be fair that streak had started just a couple months prior).
obviously some of you think it was an earlier moment, as early as starrcade 97. while that they fucked up starrcade is totally true, the repercussions were not instant and their momentum unsalvageable at that point. even through 1998, wcw was doing fairly well despite the booking issues and whatnot; there was still a chance for a resurgence if they were able to turn things around. but on january 4, 1999, a desperate eric bischoff made the final mistake that finally sent wcw careening towards its demise. couple this with the "fingerpoke of doom" happening on the same night, which i believe occurred near the end or after raw went off the air, because i'm pretty sure i remember seeing that happen live, too, meant fans changed back just in time to see one of the dumbest booked matches ever.
in my opinion, it was the peak moment of the monday night war, a "win" simply handed to the wwf at an incredibly crucial time for wcw, and wcw's fortunes only went south afterward.

IMO there is an overabundance of solid main event marketable heels to solid main event marketable faces in the company right now.
Solid heel characters:
CM Punk
Miz
Del Rio
McIntyre
Ziggler
Sheamus
Barrett
Solid Face Characters
Cena
Orton
John Morrison
Edge

vince russo was never the problem, in my view, as i think he can be good when he isn't the final decision maker and doesn't have the pressure that wcw had at the time he came in. vince russo isn't the greatest or even great, but he did pretty well for awhile at wwf, which i don't think was a fluke. in wcw and beyond he just hasn't had the right person to guide him and tell him no on things and, most importantly, why the ideas don't work. russo needs to answer to someone like vince for his ideas to work. outside of that, as we've seen, he has struggled mightily.

WCW HAD Ron Simmons, HAD Steve Austin, HAD Mick Foley, HAD Kevin Nash, HAD Mark Callaway (Undertaker), HAD Kane, HAD Chris Jericho, HAD Dean Malenko, & HAD Chris Beniot all before WWF got their hands on them.
They HAD plenty of chances it just that WCW was not very good at developing characters. They were run by a bunch of territory guys who were used to being able to just insert such and such's name and have that be enough to sell tickets.
On the other end WWF was run by a bunch of really smart creative people who knew how to build stars and develop characters well.
WCW only developed a handful of stars in their lifespan. Goldberg, The Giant (who they billed as the son of Andre), & Crow Sting. Everyother big name that carried the company was either WWF made (Hogan, Nash, Hall, Randy Savage, Luger) or was tried and true star like Ric Flair & Roddy Piper.

Hogan, the 'E's most marketable machine, main evented 9 WMs in a row. Having Cena, the 'E's most marketable machine, main event WM this year being viewed as a flaw is ridiculous. Don't like Cena? Fine. Watching those Hogan WMs must not have been all that great for non-Hogan fans, past or present. Get over it.
Miz isn't good enough? The only better options for Cena are Rock and Undertaker, both of which never EVER would have happened. Anything else is a match we've seen before, and we all know how some people feel about repeat matches...

The big one I wanted was Punk v Orton to headline WM. I knew I would never get that (at least I get it at WM in general, which is fine), but I really think that it should have been Orton v Cena. I know we've seen it a lot, but these are the top two guys in the company right now, and work really well with each other.

It's just funny how all of a sudden this "is the worst WM card ever" to some people. I guess it really comes down to : hbktony (no HBK match), K3nta (no explanation needed), and me putting words in your (Bo) mouth.
Again, besides Jericho/Edge and the Shawn Michaels matches, there's more matches building for this WM that I want to see/make me want to order than in the last half decade+. WM will be fine.

on paper i place this Wrestlemania in the upper half if we are going from 20 thru the present.
it makes Wrestlemania 24 look like a strong Summerslam card, It makes 23 just look boring IMO (which a good majority of 23 was. Only the MITB and 2 championship matches were good from that PPV), and it looks to be about on Par with 21, 22, and 25.
IMO The last truly great Wrestlemania was 19. That had awesome matches and some great finishes.

Being the smark that i am Special certainly has a place at Wrestlemania and if it ends up being HHH vs Undertaker in Streak vs Career that will most definitely have a Special feel to me because i am a huge HHH fan, and i will be watching his last match. But i also love quality. Del Rio/Edge will be pure quality IMO. Morrison/Sheamus will be quality too especially if they add a cool stipulation to it.

the funny thing is I wonder if Cena would be such a good promo to weasel Rock to come out of retirement for a match. If he cuts a promo and makes Rock look bad, Rock may say fuck it and want to wrestle Cena. Cena gets a huge payday as that would be the main event of WM27 and the buyrates would exceed 1 mil because, in some fans eyes, it is a dream match or closest thing you'll get in the current age of wrestling. If Cena could goad him enough in such a clever way, Rock may say "alright, one more match."
Per my comments above at 2:25pm today, I tried and tried to tell you smart marks that this might happen. Rock vs. Cena....hmmmmm.

Not ready for Haitch to retire though.
not at all... I am a huge fan of Haitch. that will be a huge hit to WWE in my mind. first they lose HBK last year, now this year they lose HHH.

Cole's face is getting fat, don't you think?
his face looks a lot fuller than it did in 1999, but i think he just put on some weight over the last few years. not recently.

I think it is going to be true. Haitch just took a high up job in the company and his kids are still young, so i am sure he wants to be home to raise them.

Well yea, but it seemed more "fuller" than I thought it was, and I've been watching Raw again for months now.

I agree. It seemed like everything molded itself perfectly after last night's EC, but the booking of this entire Raw is beyond horrible.

What is this crap. I would like to see them be Tag Champs and then make the match at Wrestlemania a WWE Championship & Tag Team Championship match. Then let the Miz win and then him and Riley could be tag champs giving the Miz the role of being even more awesome.

Details on HHH/Taker during the commercials.
Thanks to reader Billy Krotchsen for providing the following live notes from WWE Raw tonight, featuring the big 2/21/11 reveal. Our correspondent noted that Triple H received the biggest reaction of the night, even more than Undertaker, Randy Orton or John Cena. Undertaker missed his cue and came out before his music started, then had to return to the back.

mixed bag of a show. Glad to see Hacksaw going into the Hall with Dibiase inducting. They had great stuff in Mid South. Kinda cheesy having Miz and Cena tag up when they had this feud going but I kinda liked how Miz double crossed Cena. I actually didn't see that coming. I would've liked to have seen Lawler vs. Miz and Cena vs. Rock and of course Sting vs. Taker at WM. Maybe they can have Michaels in Hunters corner and Sting the special referee or something.

Thoughts on erasing Benoit completely from history?
- The latest issue of WWE Magazine, which features the "Definitive Guide to WrestleMania" does not list any Chris Benoit WrestleMania matches. Even the main event of WrestleMania XX, which saw Chris Benoit capture the World Heavyweight title in a triple threat match that also included Shawn Michaels and Triple H, is listed as Kane vs. The Undertaker.
