I'm just saying i htink it works better than sayikng TNA all night. I mean, who doesn't think ofpron when that's said?
I thought theyhd' go a bit further with the name change, but baby steps I supose.
I think IMPACT is great.
I'm dead serious too. I really like that. I'll be tuning in for the rebranding.

UI guess it works to get rid of the TNA abbreviation. I always think of pron and tits and ass when I hear the TNA abbreviation, so realistically I thin kgetting rid of that abreviation would be a step in the right direction.
Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship has such a good ring to it after all... :thumbsdow
But really, TNA should definitely change it's name from TNA to pretty much anything else. I'm surprised they don't just go to WCW or something with a different variant.

My picks...
28. Lex Luger
29. Undertaker
30. The Rock
31. HHH
No way, in my mind at least, that The Rock doesn't go in next year in Miami.
I could see Edge and Luger being paired up.
HHH and Taker will both have their own separate billings as the Main guys too.

The 4/18 edition of Tough Enough did a 1.53 rating with 2,196,000 viewers, so it dropped again. The replay that aired after Raw did a 1.16 rating with 1,568,000 viewers so the aggregate remained solid.
The 4/18 edition of Raw did a 3.1 rating, with 4.7 million viewers, which isn't good compared to recent shows. To make matters worse the show had a drop in viewership as the night went on as house one did a 3.19 and hour two did a 3.06.

The idea of mimicking MMA that you posted a number of pages back was awesome on Paper.
Brand themselves as a REAL wrestling company. Don't do screwy finishes, and have it be cut and dry wins and loss records for the workers. They are on the same Network as the biggest MMA company on the planet right now, so why not go for it?
Work stiff main event matches, and have blood during the appropriate matches, and make the product have some attitude.
Make it into a true Wrestling product, with storylines that link the matches together and have the product be LOGICAL. Make it 'competition' based.

Exactly.
It's a simple concept. Not only is it less complex than what they do now, but it utilizes the best part of TNA (IMPACT!) the awesome workers they have.
They should have a screwjob title change, then the title is vacated. They take a week off TV, do a studio show talking about Impact! and the upcoming title tourney. On the following Impact! TV hold the 8 man tournament and hold off the finals until the re-launch Impact! PPV.
RVD v. AJ Styles? I'd consider buying that in hopes of the best match in history.
Speilmen230
04-19-2011, 07:37 PM
My vision would be to have guys like AJ, Kurt, Daniels, Roode, Storm, Morgan, Alex Shelly, Chris Saban, & (an in shape) Samoa Joe, be their top tier guys.
These are their best workers and these are the guys who would be able to/can work stiff matches and sell really well.
I think you keep the core of pro-wrestling, Win by Pin-Fall and Submission and it is a match not Rounds, BUT you add the element of KO and Referee Stoppage.
KOs and TKOs would be great feud builders.
kittensXLI

The other thing they could do is maybe try and strike up a deal with ROH for them to share talent. Use it as their farm league. IMPACT! already signs their best talent from ROH so why not try and do it on a business level.
I think if they were to do this, they would have more vets interested in their company. (on and off screen vets)
I know everybody aren't big fans of these two, but bringing in guys like Batista & Lashley who are big MMA buffs, will give you some notoriety and name-sake for your 'New' company.

JR and Heyman would never, ever, ever work. First of all, they don't even like each other. Secondly, Vince will lock up JR and let him rot before giving him the chance to go to TNA. Thirdly, Heyman isn't going to TNA unless he gets absolute control over anything he pleases, which only "rebranding" doesn't even begin to provide.
Heyman would go to TNA if it had samplings of MMA, because he himself likes MMA. If he gets the power he desires, he can fix them, from a creative standpoint.

But if you don't think that Lashley and Batista would bring in some fans, then i really don't know what to say. Batista was a huge draw in WWE, and Lashley was not as big of a draw but he was not 'terrible' in the ring.
Even though they would have this brand new concept, they would need big names to sell it and push it. Stick Flair, Hogan, Bischoff, & Tazz in managerial positions to push certain guys. Especially ones who lack in the mic department.

I don't have a link, but it's rather common knowledge, barring some sort of reconciliation in recent history that no one knows about. JR has said multiple times he doesn't think Heyman will go back to the pro wrestling world either. A lot of this stuff he answers constantly in his blogs.
Hogan, Bischoff, Flair, etc won't mix with Heyman in complete control either. So I'd imagine it'd probably be one side or the other. Obviously the Heyman side would be more interesting to me.

Thats just it, he wouldn't be buried. In Raw he is overshadowed by a super crowded upper card. I'm sure he will get a nice kickback from Vince because of the additional merch he will sell. There is no one else of his caliber that could fill the shoes of both Edge AND Taker (except maybe Jericho).

Here is my answer as to why Heyman is so great.
Heyman financially didn't run ECW well. Don't forget they were a regional promotion trying to compete with 2 international promotions. Hell even Vince almost went bankrupt in the late 90's and WCW lost money for YEARS.
Until TNN, ECW made money selling tickets, t-shirts, and ppvs. Signing with TNN changed all that. They were forced to spend more money. WCW was run much more terribly than ECW.
Heyman let's workers do what they do best. He never came up with a character and tried to mold a guy to replicate the character. He took the talent he had and molded characters around the peoples best qualities. Wrestling has always been about blurring the line between reality and fiction. Heyman not only built ECW around that concept but he helped build the careers of the workers.
As of now TNA just purges top uncontracted talent in an attempt to draw interest. Heyman never did that. He has the uncanny ability to make chicken shit into chicken salad. While Vince Russo has the uncanny ability to make gold into the drizzling shits.
Capitalize on a workers positives and try to downplay his weaknesses. That is wrestling 101. It's not sports entertainment 101 I guess, but that wrestling 101.

the goal wasn't to invent the wheel there. it is one of the biggest moments in wrestling because it is what it is. hogan bodyslamming andre was literally the shot heard round the world for wrestling in terms of appeal.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I mean shit, he made New Jack look good. :lol

I guess you never saw the Wrestling School Dropout character that he came up with when he booked Savoldi's ICW before ECW.:lol
But he did usher in and popularize the small-good worker genre with Mysterio, Psychosis, Benoit, Eddy, Malenko, etc. that WCW raided and created great television. It was niche TV with Joey Styles over-hyping everything, some great TV matches, some garbage stuff, but one entertaining 60 minute program that has left a legacy, both good and bad in the history of wrestling.

History of Wrestlemania DVD. They really missed out on adding some great matches (Bret Hart isn't included AT ALL. Shawn v Taker isn't on here. They put on the crappy Cena v H match as opposed to Cena v HBK...or just have no Cena at all.) Only one match truly doesn't belong though, the Vince v Shane match. At least they didn't have a Rock v Austin match, their WM stuff kinda sucked.

These are two memories that stand out to me about ECW and Paul Heyman. First is the ECW TV episode in which he announces that ECW will indeed be on PPV. Even though it was all over the internet, I literally remember clapping while watching this at like 2am. The second video is the opening montage for Barely Legal. It's a typical ECW highlight video. But for many fans this was the FIRST time they actually were able to watch ECW.

I met Paul Heyman a couple of times. Once after either the 1990 or 1991 Baltimore Bash where a bunch of newsletter readers and writers got together and discussed the business. Very cool. And he said it was the night that Sid was supposed to win the NWA title but it was changed, I believe since he was leaving for Vince. Might have been 1991. I also met him after an ECW show in Boston while I was working at a radio station. Cool guy, introduced me to Taz and we talked about the business.

Eh, it's nothing crazy. It was a couple years ago when his son Reid was doing shows. He was on a few shows I was filming. I didn't really get too personal with him. We watched the show from a monitor in back. I was filming some DVD extras so once the show gets going I have time to dick around. Here is actual footage from the night. You can see a vintage version of me decked out in a tuxedo.

But, do you guys remember recently when George Steele almost got killed at an indy show?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOXPj2B-UFE&feature=fvsr
We all thought he was fucking dead. Ironically at this show I had to get Steele from the Meet and Greet DOWNSTAIRS to the locker room then UPSTAIRS to the ring. HE literally walked up the stairs backwards because of his knees. Even after the show he was a great guy. Told stories grabbed a bite to eat. But, we used to produce the DVD before Highspots, but after Smart Marks. But, Once I started Grad school I had to cut back on all the shows. I still go to a few every tour.
Oh and did anyone hear about the show a couple weeks ago where Scott Hall showed up all fucked up??

I think there's really only so much the "impressionist" gimmick can do. Heck, it was dumb when Richards was reduced to it in WWF. Same for Big Slow. Lethal couldn't get over without pretending to be Macho Man. The biggest thing I can pull out of it is the fact Flair put him over.

And when he wasn't Black Machismo, he was boring as all heck. And if you really want to get into "good" X Division talent, there's a lot better than him. I'm surprised TNA let him go, because he's still better than probably 85%+ of their roster, but people thinking he's going to WWE is laughable.

So Umaga and Rikishi were brothers. Jimmy and Jey Uso are Rikishi's sons. Rosey and Rikishi are cousins. Rosey, Umaga, and Rikishi were all cousins with Yokozuna.
EDIT - And all of these cousins are related to The Rock just by their grandfather and The Rock's grandfather being "blood brothers".
Really? Blood brothers? That's it?

This "Network" shit is ridiculous. At least the Anon GM thing has a bit of flair to it, because it could be practically anyone. Uhhh...we know what "Network" you're on. We know what "Network" is forcing you guys to stop sucking so fucking much because you're hurting their cash cow, too.

I find it kinda ironic that ECW used the 'Network' gimmick when they were on TNN and now TNA is using the 'Network' gimmick on Spike.

It's not anywhere set in stone happening, but still.
Regardless, if Dixie was to ever not be President, I think the pipedream is Heyman, and the all-or-nothing gamble is EB. If it is EB, the dream situation would be he axes Russo and Hulk. Especially without a Ted Turner wallet to fall back on, assuming he learns/learned from WCW, it could be good.

I have to think that he doesn't axe Hogan. He and hogan are close friends and there is no way that he will cut Hogan's biggest source of income.
Russo NEEDS to get the axe no matter who is in charge.
But yes the Pipedream is Heyman. He has the creative genius to make something happen at TNA, and he actually cared about his employees.
Jeff Jarrett needs to go too. He seems like a disease just like Russo.

McIntyre and Masters would make a very good tag team. + Gabriel/Slater, Kane/Slow, and a bunch of jobber teams like Santino/Koslov, the Usos, Hawkins/Barreta, and Otunga/McGuillicutty would be the best the tag division has been in years.

Wade Barrett makes a very good IC Champion. I hope he holds onto the title for a long time too, bringing credibility to both himself and the title simultaneously. He should at least hold it until the Corre is finally broken up for good, followed by a true singles run. Obviously he can talk, so the alone time would be great while he hones his in-ring work, and the current main events from both shows have time to clear up.

It's a win/win really.
I wouldn't mind an ADR win so Christian can chase him some more for the title. Yeah, it's prolonging an already enormously long overdue title run, but barring an injury it'd be so huge for when Christian finally gets the win. It also wouldn't make it seem like a joke title run like when Rey won after Eddie died. Everyone knows Christian has deserved the strap with zero influence from Edge.

What would Orton and Jericho feud over though? I'd like for the IC title to matter again and have those guys plus someone else (Maybe move Sheamus over too?) feud over the title, let the Christian v ADR feud die, and move Orton up for the big belt.
