I do about 3 hours a day AND I'm in school. In a related story, I rarely pass classes.

i have been playing guitar since August. I play for about 5 hours a day. I have come up with a couple of my own stuff. I would say I play covers and my own stuff equally.

I started playing the guitar two weeks ago yesterday.

I've played about two hours a day and I can kinda play some dylan songs (watchtower, Tangled up in Blue, Hurricane I have memorized) I still haven't quite learned how to strum with rythm so the songs don't quite sond like they are supposed to.

I plan on taking lessons next month when school is out.

I've been playing for about 3 and 1/2 years. I have my own band, which coincidentally we play a lot of DMB covers but we also have original material. I would have to say i practice around 2-3 hours a day. usually spent working on my own material and improv. i also work on vocals whenever i can. I have learned guitar while going to college and i have to say i practice less now than i used to, previously i would practice 6+ hours a day. I also know a bunch of other cover tunes but my main focus anymore is originals. One thing is for sure no matter how much i practice i don't screw up my school work. In fact graduating with a 3.7 in May!

well sorry to babble but if anyone is in pittsburgh and want to check out my band drop me an email and i'll put u on the mailing list!

CHEERS,
J.T.

i played the guitar for 7 years, starting in kindergarten, only practicing at most 1 hour day, then i took a few years off and have just started again and am practicing about 2 hours a day, waiting for summer so i have a little more time because school makes it tough

I've been playing for about nine years with varying amounts of practice over the years. Now-a-days I probably practice 1-2 hours a day on average. Some days I don't put the thing down for 1/2 of the day.

i was just thinking about this last night...

sax: at least 40min a day in band, but usually another 30min to an hour at home

piano: half hour to an hour each day

guitar: 20min every couple of days.

piano is my 'main instrument' i guess you'd say since i've been playing 9 years. but im really getting into sax since i have such a good role-model (john-savage.com) as my teacher, friend, etc.

been playin' for, oh I dunno, 4 years pretty steady I guess. few hours a day. sometimes a lot more, but rarely not at all. I play mostly Dave stuff but sometimes just random shit. well that's it. oh am I good? nah, you're not good unless you're entertaining people and/or making money right? so I guess I'm horrible.

I do play many a mean Dave song, though

peace,

I've been playing about 2 and a half years, I play at least 2 hours a day, usually along with an MP3 or something. But now that I just got a new guitar yesterday, I'll probably be playin a bit more once I get back from Chicago. I can't write music worth shit, so I just learn all the covers I can. Unforutnatly, (or fortunatly, depends how you look at it), I really don't enjoy playing anything except DMB. Everything else is just kinda boring to me. So I'm up to about 50 DMB songs. Got quite a few left though, by the time summer comes I'll probably most all of them down pat and memorized.

I've been playing for about 4 years and started off on an electric learning Floyd (extremely technical), but then the DMB bug got me and now I'm learning all DMB songs, Grateful Dead (I play what I like to listen to) and slowly writing my own tunes....need help with lyrics though....

I have been wanting to get voice lessons for a while now too.....

I practice about 1-2 hours a day, but I'm "between jobs right now"...when I'm working I might not pick up the guitar for a week at a time, and that sucks...One needs to play everday to keep their hands up to speed...

I'm also at college, I play between 1 and 3 hours a day, mostly on Keyboard but some guitar too. It varies though.

I played at a bar last night for a little more than a half hour, so I only practiced a few songs that I was going to play during the daytime, so I'd be fresh at night. But the day before that I played for about 4 hours throughout the day and went through everything I might play at the bar at least three times.

well, I play the violin and have been playing for about 8-9 years now.

practicing depends totally on my mood and what time of year it is. Of true practicing, its usually 1-2 hours a day, 4-5 days a week. However, I'm in school related orchestra (I'm the concertmaster) for 40 minutes a day from september to june, I'm in a Community Orchestra which is once a week for 2 1/2 hours, I play for church, weddings, festivals...... but it is the musicals that really suck up the time. Musical rehearals run 3-3 1/2 hours everyday for about 2 weeks straight. That coupled with my 2 to 3 musicals each winter keeps me pretty busy

I've only been playing for a few months and i practice about 2 hours a day, sometimes more...i try to learn covers and stuff.. i still play scales and learn chords and i can finally play and sing at the same time...i just try to learn a song or two a day and then go from there...guitar is probably the best thing ever.

Hey folks. About eight years on the drums. I practice everyday, anywhere from one to four hours. As a drummer of course, I play mostly with other music. Soloing is fun, though. ;-) I actually started with a similar background as Carter, which basically led me to play in a similar fashion to him without knowing he had beat me to it! When I first saw his video and saw he played just like me, I was hooked, and still am. He is my main inspiration. OK, sorry to babble. Wanna talk DMB -- AIM = ZildjianPilot.

I have been playing for about two years... I probably play anywhere from 3 hours a day to maybe 5. I play a bunch of DMB covers, I also have some of my own written songs songs three of which I play at jams... I guess the hardest song I can play is Satelite and sing the entire song at the same time...
