Any piano players in here? I play a lot, and I've mastered a lot of covers of Phish, DMB, Coldplay, Radiohead, Ben Folds Five (I can play most of his stuff), and others. It's mostly a play and sing thing, they aren't purely instrumental or anything, but its still fun to take something like Radiohead that's all guitars and make it into a great piano song.

Any one else wanna talk about the art of piano playing?

I wish I could play piano. I was forced into it as a child into the whole Royal Conservatory of Music thing and didn't really enjoy practicing all those songs all the time while never really learning how to apply whatever I was learning to make my own songs/jam/whatever I felt like doing. So around the age of 14, I quit. Playing the guitar for the first time had something to do with this too. I just enjoyed it more.

But for the past couple summers, I've been working with a Producer/Musician here in Toronto as his apprentice/recording engineer type thing, and after seeing him play piano, it makes me wanna play again. He's a smooth jazz pianist but the music he makes is not like elevator music, its actually got a cool vibe and groove to it. Check him out if you like, his name's Eddie Bullen (http://www.eddiebullen.com).

Yes, Me!

I'm trying to find time to get past the toys in front of the piano and actually sit down at it. (Had to clean out the piano seat after my 3 year old used it as a urinal - all over my sheet music collection...)
I daren't live in hope that I'll ever own any DMB in print, but I have a go at playing some by ear - mainly Say Goodbye, Crash, the lovey dovey stuff. Also like playing ColdPlay, Joe Jackson, REM, George Michael, U2, and Jeff Buckley. One day when my kids are grown up I'll get too and write out some stuff for piano so we don't have to keep improvising off guitar tabs. I also play violin, so seeing Boyd in action tonight will be awsome. Have you heard of the guy who has recorded Radiohead on piano? I think he's Christopher O'Riley. It's a very nice sound. Could you please let me know if you have ever seen any DMB stuff in print.
ta,
Al

I've never thought of Halloween on piano - what chords did you use?

I would guess Fm->Bm for the verse, and Am->Gm->Fm->Em for the chorus, and Am->Bm for the bridge..
