...my bitch.
I remember when I first started, I never thought I would ever be able to play it. Next verse to attack, either SMTS/WWYS...

IMO both of them are harder to play. I'll get 'em eventually.

IMO, if you think SMTS is harder than Billies, you are playing one of them wrong.
There is much more random movement in Billies than in SMTS.

True, it's just easier for me to play...
I just need to practice SMTS more, that (555) chord kills me. I need to work on bends better too for WWYS. I'm not satisfied until I can play it flawless.

the (555) in SMTS is like an afterthought though to getting that "let it ring" C-->A#pB...to sound correct... especially when singing the billies' verse.
speaking of which does anyone else hit an A (on the D string, 7th fret) during the billies verse to help them hold the C (E string 8th fret) for the right amount of time?
I started doing that, and can at least actually get myself to hold the C like it is supposed to be.

just follow the correct fingerings and you should be fine with the chord changes... to play billies corrently, there is a lot of random movement of the hand.. all in all a much harder song technically to play. if you put the time into SMTS and WWYS, you should have no problem at all... keep at it, you'll be fine

for that 555 chord just take your middle finger and hold down those 3 strings, then slide with yourindex and such, pretty easy and works perfectly. If you're trying to play it with a finger-to-string form then you're doing too much work, hope this helps :monkey

Yeah, I just need to bar it instead of using 3 fingers. (duh)

You can bar it with your pinky too, thats how I play it. Its kinda weird at first but eventually its oh so natural.

i may be easier now to bar that 555 chord but if you just practice the correct way to do it...using the 3 fingers will be just as easy in the end and it may even give the song a little more of an authentic sound. i just now when im playing and singing a song and getting into it that sometimes when im trying to bar shit it just doesn't come out correctly all the time. anyways...just my little piece

Yeah, I hear ya.
Whenever you bar chords with 1 finger, it never can be done half-ass.

For SMTS you'll wanna do the first slide (on the low E) with your middle finger, then bar the 555 with your 3rd (ring) finger. That will line up your 1st (pointer) finger for the next slide.

haha- glad somebody said it. All this talk of sliding with index fingers and whatnot. The "Dave way" to play it is as you said, slide middle- bar ring. YAY :bounce
