I hate gunfire... and I don't see why 2 minutes of it is included on this great bands album. Other than that I love this intro, but all together I don't like it. :violent

The Intro won't play on my computer. AB just plays, nothing new. Same version I've had for weeks. The rest of the songs I listened to played fine.



But now the sound on my comp doesn't work at all. SO that's nice.:shrug

I agree. It doesn't exactly ruin the song, but I think it slightly misses the mark. It doesnt do the same thing to me that "7o'clock news" does to me by Simon and Garfunkel. Even Phish's song "Faht" off of Picture of Nectar affected me more. This is too blatant... too... I dont know, ya know? Listen to the two songs mentioned before to get a better idea of what i THINK they were goin for.

I like the intro, and aside from the gunfire, I think if the Intro is played out in concert it could be an epic live with some potentiality for build up (kinda Bartenderish) and some Jam. I'd kinda like to see a 12min live American Baby... Intro... same Outro. :rolleyes

the irony i see is the rounds fired off during the beggining of the intro followed by fireworks at the end....round fired off symbolizing the war and the fireworks symbolizing freedom and the proudness of being american, BABY!!!!!!!!

thats one of the main reasons why i have sorta neglected this song from the others. if they wanted to get a message by adding it, they did. but that couldv'e been done by just the few seconds of it in the beginning.
