I just got some new headphones. This album is even more amazing than before. Its cool to listen to the all the layering on the album with true stereo.

I recommend everybody to take a listen with headphones. Especially Steady as We Go, Out of My Mind.

The intro to Stand Up sounds pretty neat, too.

I listen mainly to music on my mp3 player so that shouldn't be a problem.

hey I'm buying an ipod this weekend. How good are the headphones? Are they great or should I buy others. I want the best I can get (under 50 dollars) but just not the kind that have a headband over the top of the end. I'd prefer wires, or headband in the back or such.

Btw what type of headphones did you get?;)

The Ipod Headphones are FANTASTIC (my opinion). I really like them alot. I have a pair of BOSE sound cancelling headphones that i listened to some of the songs on, but the ipod ones sound fantastic too. You probably wont find anything super spectacular if you are looking for under 50 bucks. But i'd say if you stick with the ipod ones you wont be disapointed, i love them.

Wanted to add to my above post but it was too late. If you suggest headphones could you say where they could be bought? Thanks lol

64bit? The version of the album that comes on the DVD is only 24bit.

I think you're talking about 64K encoding. In which case, you're right. But you can still pick up on more nuances.

I got a pair of studio Sony's for $20. They are full ear with a band over the top of my head. These are the best kind for full range sound.

You won't get the same kind of sound from anything that goes around the back, or just ear-buds.

Thanks, I'd go above 50$ but normally when I do I only see the big cushy headband kind and I really don't like those. lol

If you want sweet headphones, try the Shure E2c. Those things are sweet. They cost a few bucks, but are well worth it.

For "on the go" headphones, I agree, although I do see people walk around campus with them on.

For sitting and actually LISTENING to music, there's nothing better. You won't find anything as good that's just an ear-bud type or around the neck type. You can't get the frequency response necessary to re-create the sound as well as it was originally recorded.

I got the white Sony in-ear buds. They are awesome, I would recommend them for 40 bucks. Best Buy and Circuit City has them. The people I talked to that got the Apple in-ear buds didn't really like them (not enough bass and had trouble with them staying in), all not a problem with the Sony's.

I have two pairs of headphones at the moment and I'm very happy with both. The iPod ear buds didn't stay in my ears, but if you're really into that kind Koss makes ones that have a little rubber tube kinda that holds in your ear well. Otherwise, I have a cheap pair of Samsung ones for when I'm on the go -- have the little rubber piece that wraps around the back of each ear, and then the speakers come down from the top and fit in. I also have a pair of full ear ones with the band on top that I love -- the Koss UR19s. They were $25 at Best Buy and while not as good as my dad's Bose noise cancelling set, they're pretty comparable when it comes to full sound with crisp highs and a shitload of bass.

These are the Koss ones -- again, an amazing value at $25:

Still not feeling Louisiana Bayou as much as everyone else. Not that it's a bad song, but not in the top 5 on the album.

Anyone have comments on full ear wireless headphones? I'm getting ready to purchase a pair. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with the wireless.

Haha, you called Out of My Hands Out of My Mind. That would be an interesting twist on the song.

I own a pair of Shure E2c headphones like a couple previous posters mentioned. They can be found for around $60 online, probably, and they are sound isolating headphones that fit into your ear canal; certainly not for everyone.

As far as good, cheap, earbuds, Sennheiser (sp?) makes something called the mx500. These are much better received by head-fi'ers than the Apple earbuds or Sony earbuds. They are really cheap, too, I think (like under $20).

Headphones are more debated about, but in the under $50 category, the KSC-35 line and its varients are excellent purchases that have incredible value. They are Koss headphones and you can get them off Koss' website. Most enjoyed are the KSC-35 and KSC-50 varients. The Koss PortaPro and SportaPro fit around your head differently but sound very similar, so if you do a lot of exercising with headphones., look into these.
