like a bunch of others, i'm less disappointed with this album than i expected to be. the thought i keep having is that this is like a successful everyday. whereas everyday (in my view) was an attempt for dmb to make a good, unique pop-ish album, it failed because it simply wasn't any better or different than the average pop on the radio. this, i think, is uniquely dmb, and is better than most pop music. that said, it's not my particular cup of tea, and i think i can safely say that if these songs had been dave's first instead of the likes of ants, recently, nancies, warehouse, etc., i doubt any of us ever would have been exposed to the band. but i do think this album is pretty good for what it is, even if it won't be replacing UTTAD or RTT in my cd player any time soon.

The only song I have a problem with is Old Dirt Hill, that voice just sounds so damn cheesey and boy-bandish... I mean it's real lame... other than that I love it... Although I really miss Carter doing his thing on this album. He's not really into it, but I know this album leaves a lot of room open for fills on tour. So I'm not worried at all! Love this album! It's no BTCS, but then again, there can never be another BTCS!

I don't like RTT as an album. Worst. Ants. Ever.
