VH1 says...
"The guys kept it fresh by going for that "playing-on-the-back-porch" vibe. Have a listen to their most spontaneous collection yet."

Agree with this generalization statement. or no?

Spontaneous and hastily thrown together. Not road tested and evolved. Hopefully they will become that way on tour, but for now they are just spontaneous and not as deep lyrically as I'd hoped. I'm working my way towards accepting the songs for what they are. I already have Everybody Wake Up stuck in my head...

ehhh....the whole "lemonade taste like a sunny day", "rode my bike down that old dirt hill" stuff about smoking under a bridge, "laying face down in the grass in the park on a hot summer day", "first time i kissed you."

It sort of seems like they were going for a good ol' america back porch vibe in some spots.

If somebody can play Everybody Wake Up on their back porch they have a pretty expensive back porch.

I agree, as far as some of the lyrics go, but there is too much damn producing going on for it to be "playing on the back porch" imo.

^ Yeah thats for sure, definitaly not spontinaity (is that even a word?) with all that production. Musically, i dont think any of their albums could really sound like they winged it on a back porch though. Maybe Uttad comes closest to me?
