The WalMart and Target (and probably Best Buy and Circut City) ad prices of 9.99 are for the NON Duel Disc set. Just a heads up so you're not short on cash when you get up to the registers.

Once again....these prices are for the NON dual disc version. They advertise that price to get you into the store. Then they hit you up for the better version of the disc. It's a scam that the major retail stores have been using since dual disc first hit the market. I really like the new dual disc cases with the curved right side and the button to open the case. It's pretty slick. I'm just afraid I'm gonna scratch one side of it, so I baby them pretty well.

A scam? For offering something at an advertised price? That doesn't make a lick of sense. If you don't read what is on sale, you're not scammed, you're stupid.

I work at Best Buy and the Dual Disk will not be 9.99. If it is anything like the new Springsteen DD it will be on sale for 11.99. On a regular basis the Dual is a dollar or two more than the non dual disk. We dont have the ad for next week yet, but it will probably be 9.99 and 11.99 the first week.

So how much will the 'dual-disk' be running for at places like BestBuy, CircuitCity, Target, and wally world?

Allow me to reitterate for those who missed it....or maybe just Ovitz. They say that they are offering Stand Up at 9.99....but unless you're stuck in the era of VHS, you're going to go with the dual disc so that you can watch the guys make the album, and then listen to it in an incredible sound format. So, you walk into the store, assuming you're about to pay 9.99 for the album. But wait...when you ring it up, it comes up as 14.99....but the ad said 9.99!

It's very very sneaky, and it's just a scam (or a ploy, or whatever) to get you into their store to give them 5 more dollars than you expected.

The only place I've seen the Dual Disc price is at WalMart, and it's 13.88, but Circut City and Best Buy price match, so if they have it for 14.99, or more...tell them you want them to match WalMart's price.

no, because they are promoting the album, not the dual disc. I wouldn't be surprised if the dual disc is advertised as well.

Working for Best Buy for 2 years, I can assure you that IF (and that's a really big if) they say anything about the dual disc in the ad, it will be in extremely small print. They're not going to advertise the dual disc price in big bold numbers, becuase most people don't read into it that deeply. They see the album cover, and a huge yellow price tag that says 9.99.

i posted this in another post, but since then, i can't find my back. anyway, as everyone's talking about the cd, i wanted to know if wal-mart, best buy and circuit city will all have the regular, non dual disc cd. i already preorderd a dual disc through the warehouse, but i want a regular cd that i can keep in my car and not worry about scratching the dvd side. the only reason i ask is because i noticed at wal-mart that they only had the dual disc cds of springsteen and rob thomas' cd. sorry if this has already been answered somewhere.

That's not sneaky. Just pay a-fucking-tention to what is in the sales paper.
