Remember way back in November / December when we heard there were 3 guests in the studio? Butch is the only known guest, and any others are not apparent while listening to these tracks. Since 10-15 songs didn't make the album, it's likely some of these guests were on songs that did not make the album, but with the complexity of the music we've heard so far, its certainly possible that there are some guests who sat in on guitar or similar. Anybody know or wanna take a gander?

I dont' think anyone sat in. I could only think of Tim maybe doing some guitar work but I doubt it. And way early on I thought they'd bring santana in cause sugar will sucks without him. But like the busted stuff approach of no guests.

I think it came from another reputable source as well. I think its safe to say that whatever song was played around with, it was one of those discarded songs that didn't make the album.

Who the hell is singing on "Old Dirt Hill", in the intro (singing "bring that beat back...")? It sounds like the Jackson 5.

have you heard the Sugar Will with Jamal Milner? completely blows the Santana version out of the water IMO.
i also think the versions W/O santana are better as well.

They discarded that new version of Too Much because it was too good for this album.

When I asked Dave is he envisioned guests on the next album at the New York Times interview thing in NYC, he said his dream was just to do it with the five of them. I guess Butch isn't a real person, but whatever...
