Well (even though I pre-ordered duel disc) I still wanted a non-dual disc for the car, and my friend works at Target and they recieved them this morning. I wasn't allowed to buy more than one though.

Yes, small record stores do have them early, I got a copy today. Just went in and asked if they had it in yet, they said yes, I said would it be possible for them to go in the store room and get me a copy, and they did. Simple and as easy as that..

Being in the business of distributing media (DVDs), the boxes the CDs arrived in are likely marked VERY CLEARLY that they are not to display or sell until May 10th.

When the reports come through to RCA with the sell-through dates on them (the date the CD was rung through the cash register so they can track royalties and sales), you can bet your ass they will be fined. :)

However, that is the record stores' problem. For all those that have it early...enjoy it! :thumbsup

i worked in a music store a few years ago and the only way i could get a cd early was if i paid cash and put it in the safe and didn't ring up the purchase until the street date.

seems crazy that big music chains would break the rules like that.

Yes they will, but you'll run a greater risk of messing up the dvd side of it. That's what my fear is anyway. Plus I'll have a copy to keep in the car, and one to keep in the house at all times for the 5.1 mix.

I had the same luck as you. I tried Wal-Mart, FYE, Target, a local store called Record Archive, Borders Books and Music, and Media Play. They all had it, but no one would sell it to me. So frustrating!

The DVD Video has all the songs in amazing clarity (24 Bit 96khz) audio....They sound awesome and lots better than the cd versions, and videos and the original lp's playing on a turntable as the audio plays, with pictures, lyrics, info, as well as two videos.......A regular cd audio only carries a 16 bit 44 khz audio data stream, unless it a HDCD played in a HDCD player, that carries 24 bit 88khz sound and sound better than regular cd's, Alotta Neil, and The Dead use this great cd format...No DMB album has yet been released as HDCD.......

So far from what I see on the dvd is that they are not the same videos as on the album site. It opens with the band introducing the new studio. Also the menu screen is pretty sweet how it comes in. You can also listen to the album on the dvd, watch the behind the scenes, or take a look at a photo gallery. Hopefully that answers some questions on what is on the dvd

I like it much better now that I can listen to it in the car... Batson wasn't kidding when he said that this CD is best when played loud. Rolling Stone had a good review (for once) that I thought was dead on...

To sum it up, it says the album is great, but basically gets an A- for the lyrics, which apprently were not thought out very well (Dave is really regressing lyrically, I think), but the music is great, so who cares? It says this album isn't very likely to convert new fans because of this.

The only part I didn't agree with was how it compared DMB's effort on this CD to Everyday, which was "their best effort to date" or something like that... clearly the reviewer likes pop and more straightforward grooves, so he instantly lost credibility with me... lol.

I did not feel like arguing with the guy-I just left. Now I can see why they are slowly going out of business.
