Hey Ants,
After hearing the controversy over the new album and the suppositions that it grows on you, I created this new thread to give a somewhat accurate picture of how Stand Up is being received at Ants. Now, I know a simple Yes/In between/No may not be completely satisfying, but it at least gives somewhat of an accurate picture.

Well I have only listened to bits and pieces of some songs, not the whole thing straight through. But this poll I find to be pretty interesting actually.

also, another thing to consider is that someone who doesn't like what they hear might not bother to listen 5+ times, while someone who loved their first listen is bound to listen as often as they can.

Ya, thanks for pointing that out. People should take that into account. However, people that don't like it and have listened to it 5+ times are really giving it a chance.

I agree. Maybe the people who are "in-between" or chose "no" who only listened to it 1-2 times are waiting for their copy or haven't been able to hear it more than that many times. So just because someone hasn't listened to it 5 times yet doesn't mean that they aren't going to give it a chance. I think this is a decent poll though. :thumbsup

between transcribing lyrics and the car, background music, and really listening, i think ive been through the album about 30 times, and the only problem i have with it is there's too many must-listen songs to fit on my car trips

no one wants anyone to know that they think "No" after 1-2 listens for fear of flaming.
i bet plenty of raving "no" lunatics around here haven't even listened to the whole thing

after the third listen I'm hearing more drums than I did initially, which makes me happy. It's grown on me moreso than I thought. I dogged the shit out of this album the first time through and so have some of my die-hard DMB friends. I'm wondering if they've given it another listen. I think in the end I'm going to end up liking the album, just not as much as prior one's

I have listed to it twice and liked it a lot more the second time-noticed a lot more the second time in terms of Drums and Bass lines (unfortunately there aren't any hidden lyrics). The jury is still out but I relaized there is a lot going on here. We will see...

I've listened to it a lot. I like it, it's good. But not in the same league as their previous outings.
