Hi all, new album is amzing - loving it=)
So I was intrigued, the song stolen away at 55th and 3rd. So I took a drive down to NY City and went to that street.
3rd avenue at that point is mostly high buildings, newly developed, shiny etc.
Right on the corner of 55th and 3rd is a place called PJ Clarkes, which looks totally out of place as it's an older, smaller building that all around it. It's the only building not making vertical use of the land =)
It has the old sign out front saying Liquor Store and looks more like a resteraunt/bar now.
Anyone care to discuss the origin and story of this? =)

It's being discussed in another thread somewhere, i don't blame you for not being able to find it. There is a picture of that building somewhere and it was pretty much agreed on by everybody in that thread that the song is referring to that restaurant/bar (PJ Clarkes).

Gotcha thanks!
I actually made an effort to see if it had been asked yet before I posted, I claim ignorance =)

Just out of curiousity, why is everyone so sure he's referring to an address in NYC and not somewhere else?

I thought he was talking about the 55th Congress 3rd Session!
They actually went over alot of important information regarding the National Geological Survey. It makes sense since this is a "political" album.

again...why so sure?
Because there are very few places that have significant organized avenue/street relations like NYC does, especially with numbers that high. It's not like he said "Main and West." Much of the time, references that sound like this refer to New York City. It's just extremely likely.

Hopefully he will play that at the new storytellers and let us all know what it means.

The first thing that came to my mind was the Little Thing story, but that's just me.
