I have a Fender DG22SCE (http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0952205032) , and its been great until about a month ago, when I play through my Marshall Acoustic AS50R (http://www.marshallamps.com/images/products/acoustic/acoustic.html) amp which has sounded fine until now, I dont get amplification on the middle strings. Its almost like the mids aren't picking up. I plugged the guitar into the second input and it didnt work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Guitar or Amp?

and what can be done to help the problem

Thanks in advance

First, try a new cable, although the chances of it being that are somewhere between "none" and "less."

If you have no mids at all, but the highs and lows are working, then the pickup itself is fine. Acoustic guitar pickups don't break in the middle yet still work on either end.

The best bet is the built-in preamp. Mess with the sliders and see if you get any noise (both while strumming and with the guitar quiet). You might get diginoise from moving the slider, in which case your preamp needs to be replaced.

Troubleshoot the amp seperately- find another guitar that you can plug in. You have to seperate the suspected components and test them seperately, although this doesn't sound like an amp issue- it takes the signal that it gets and does what its name implies. It sounds like it's not getting midrange signal at all.

I had this problem a few months ago and its was the cable. Then again, a friend of mine had almost the same issue too but his was the pickup on his guitar. I would try both those - or pretty much what Rob already said.
