I dont hear any wind, the band comes through well, but there is a bit much of the crowd.... good recording though! Get to hear alot of the singing along... kinda adds to a special event.

could do with a little less crowd personally. we will see what else comes out.

I was at the show - and I don't know about others - but the crowd was louder than ANY other DMB show I've ever been to!

My sister (a first timer) was annoyed because she said she didn't pay to hear the crowd sing, she wanted to hear Dave!

I actually enjoy the crowd going crazy, but I must admit that it was a little disconcerting to not be able to hear Dave at times.

Is this a common problem for recordings?

Maybe it was a location thing... We were in row 46 and were a part of the crowd noise. We thought it one of the best we had seen and were so surprised by the cool review given by the Denver Post. Maybe down in front was extra crowdy, I like the singing...

It was awesome up on row 51. The crowd was very loud and going nuts. especially during ants. Everyone was singing at the top of their lungs. Good times :cool

This one just went up here: http://www.dreamingtree.org/details.php?id=823

There were many more rigs set up than just these two so I am sure there will about a half a dozen or more popping up this week

Does anybody know if there is some CD art out there for these shows?

I will try and post some in the next couple days. I was at 9-9 and 9-11 and took pics.

Those would be the two that I would make art for.

There will?! Sweet - I'm gonna hold out then - Ice's recordings usually kick ass.

The Timothy Brown recording makes me feel like I'm in the middle of the crowd again. It's great. If you like to sing along and really dave-out, then thats the choice for N1. It captures the incredible energy way better than a 'soundboard level' recording.

I thank all the tapers for there dedication and hardwork but sometimes know matter what you do the venue for taping just sucks!!!! I have taped in the past with the Grateful Dead and at Red Rocks if you couldnt punch into the board your tape just sucked because of the venue especially at Red Rocks and the Wind!!! I havent found a 5 star source for any of the nights because you can tell when the wind picked up because the music became distorted,Nothing obviously a taper can control!!! Plus any time you are behind the board the sound isnt very good either its much better in front of the Board!!!! So i'm just hoping DMB management releases the Red Rock shows as a box set like the Gorge!!! Tapers thanks again for all your dedication and hardwork and I have to say the majority of the shows taped from the East Coast venues are freaking insane GREAT JOB!!!!!! Hope to see you all in the winter!!!

Willoughby's is better than the ecm200 source... very little crownd noise, i can not hear any wind at all... (yet, i only scanned through). great tape man!

I think this is as close to "five star" as we are going to get!

I'd have to disagree with you there. At Red Rocks, I think the sbd area is pretty close to, if not in, the sweet spot. As you mentioned, wind is a problem sometimes, but N1 the wind was very minimal.

I was at the first three shows at RR, I'm not sure about the 4th. But there were cameras everywhere, I'm sure this will at least be a dvd, hopefully not a compilation, I want to see the whole thing over and over and over again. I'm actually not sure about the first night, I was pretty drunk to notice cameras, but I did see them the other shows, can anyone else varify this?

I stated my reasoning why I feel that the Red Rock shows are not that great!!! Try this, take a well known source from lets say the Post Gazzette shows or Saratoga shows and listen to it, know compare it to a Red Rock show if you cant see the difference in venues then maybe you dont have the ear for sound thats all i'm trying to say!! It has nothing to do with the prefect tape or that i'm bagging on the tapers, Red Rocks is not a friendly venue for audience tapers that is all i'm saying nothing less or nothing more. Peace
