I play it standard with a capo on the 2nd fret. I believe you can play it with a capo on the 7th fret too, but I'm not sure about that.
All I can say is practice, I watched the vid's from dmbtabs to help me out. So just head over there and watch Pat M. play them to perfection....

You really can't play it with capo on 7th because it's damn near impossible to get your hand up to the 17th fret to play something.
Playing the capo 2 tab sounds wonderful, except for the 'all fall down' part, but that's almost exactly how it sounds when playing it on a raised-b tuned guitar.
I guess that's no help on how to play it. I can't offer any help because I didn't have too much problem learning it. That's not meant to sound conceited, just explaining why I can't really help.

For me, just listening to the song and breaking the song into parts allowed me to master it. I use a capo on 2, and the only thing that I can advise you to try is at the end of the verse, the last chord you hit needs to be hit sooner than you think ... the timing is something you'll have to get used to - its almost off beat but thats the way its played. Practice it ... it took me a long time to get. good luck

See it would also help me if i had a version of it just D&T instead of full band but i can kinda get it now just the last few chords im having trouble with the timing. Anybody have A D&T version??

it's never been played D&T, I don't think just D&T could do the song justice.

I think it would sound bitchin' with just Dave and Tim.

Here Here, a D&T version would do it full justice IMO. I have a feeling Dave would re-learn the guitar part differently and opt not to play it in an alternate tuning though.

It would rock D&T, I think.
But, yea, it's hard, I have problems too. But you can hear the guitar pretty well in live recordings.

I don't think it would have to be retooled at all. The guitar part that he plays with the band would work just fine solo or with Tim.
