looking at getting a soprano the YSS-475 or YSS-675 are among my top choice just wondering if anyone has these or has tried these intruments and what your opinions are especially on sound and tone ect..

Go to all the music stores and see if they have one. Make sure to play one before you buy it. Especially for $2k.

Most music stores will order it if you want without you even commiting to buy it. You might wanna check into that.

My soprano is the YSS-62 which is the discontinued profession soprano put out by Yamaha. What I like about it more than the Yamahas out there today is that the body is one piece. The neck is attached to the body, which in my opinion creates a much better tone and sound. Of course you dont have the versitility of having a straight and a curved neck, but the straight neck connected to the body on mine produces a great sound. I bought it a few years ago off of a sax dealer/repair man for $2000 and I think it was a steal. You should look around and try to find one of those to try out as well.
