Yea I think Artie has been doing an awesome job lately, talking a lot more, getting into the show. Although it was always a good laugh to hear him sleeping. I did enjoy how Gary was able to cancel all noise out last week or before, to show everyone that Art was making a squeeking noise :lol

I can tell you however, the Zoloft JD says he got from the one clinic doctor, that he's "not sure if it's really working yet" -- of course it isn't. I'm on Lexapro myself, and all anti-depressant medications are not immediate acting in the same way that a painkiller is, you need to have them build up in your system for awhile before they can have a significant effect. It's realistic that JD wouldn't possibly have a noticeable change until at least 3 weeks or so after he begins on them, and even that's kinda lucky.

Roll call was done on Monday with Artie out, it is something Lisa G suggested I believe, I missed it. I guess it spawened from some old radio show that Lisa G with with Dre, which was taken from an even older Bronx radio show, where they did rapping role calls.

He got real pissed that Sirius started talking to papers telling them that they may have to offer him less money, and Howad was saying that he is a no bullshit guy and why don't they just talk to him and make him an offer. Then he just went on a rant how he doesn't need them and he is done, and Baba Booey could run the show. Then of course he rips on Booey for 10 minutes. He also said he would like to continue in some capacity but the re-signing talk is really pissing him off. So he doesn't want to bother with negotiations.

Howard started the show talking about how one of his fantasies is to go back into the studio and re-record the song that he and Rob Zombie did for ''Private Parts.'' The same song that opens the show. Robin said he's mentioned that before.
Howard said Artie was out again. He said he feels he should make some sort of statement but he's not sure if he'd be offending Artie. He said he has to say something. Howard said he's been thinking about it all weekend. He said he hopes he says the right thing.
Howard said last week Artie didn't look too good. He said that a lot of people were concerned about him. He said that he doesn't look over at him much but some other people said that he wasn't looking so good. Howard said management told him to take some time off and relax and get some help if he needed it. Howard said he's not sure what his problem is but his family was concerned. You know, now that you say that, don't be shocked on the January 11th 2010 return that Jackie is back in the chair. The timing makes sense since Howard loves to start the calendar year with something new (remember Sulu on the first new show at Sirius?). And Jackie has been asking Howard for more time. I wouldn't be shocked if at least on a temporary basis that Jackie comes back to the chair.

If Howard was sticking around for another 3 years, and I don't know that he is in the current capacity that the show runs in, then I think he'd go the Dave Attell route. But it's one more year, in my estimation of the old show running 6 to 11am and I just can see it going in the Jackie direction for one year. Jackie knows the game, they're not going to be there forever so probably, after losing his fortune in divorce would be more humbled.

I don't know why this popped into my mind this morning, but one of the alltime funniest things was when they had Crazy Alice on the show, I believe in studio way back when. A caller called up and subtly got her all riled up when Howard was trying to calm her down and she said something like "you don't know what you're talking about, Buckwheat" to the caller and Jackie did his hysterical screaming laugh, which was funnier than Artie's screaming laugh (but Artie is funny when he gets going). That moment pops into my mind from now and then and some of you hardcores might remember it, they used to play it on Best of but it makes me laugh each time.

The other time was when they had a psychologist on the phone and she was mad at Howard making fun of Imus and somehow Howard convinced the woman that she was the one who needed help. She bacame hysterical on the air because she thought someone would turn her in and she'd lose her license to practice. Funny shit.

Anything with Elliot Offen is funny stuff.

Agreed. I had to take my g/f's car the last couple of days as mine gets fixed, and she doesn't have Sirius. I put on Z100, WFAN, espn radio...each one is worse than the next. Z100 is by far the worst, they try to be outragous but it is completely forced and unnatural

The caller asked Howard if he could clear up some stuff about Artie. He asked him about the rumors about why he was out. Howard said he was going to make a blanket statement about this. He said that he read that this is a family matter and the family wasn't going to talk about it. Howard said they released that statement about keeping it all private so he's going to honor that and respect it.
Howard said that he's just going to say that he was reflecting on Artie over vacation and he has given them a lot of great moments on the show. Howard said he had 10 that he could think of that were just great. Howard said there are a lot of people saying a lot of negative stuff about Artie on SternFanNetwork. He said we all have our demons and he respects the way the family is handling this whole thing. Howard said when he sees these people talking about him and his wife and Artie. Howard said it's just wrong and he doesn't like that.

I remember a few months ago in an EW issue, there was a feature story on the Leno show just as it was getting started and they had almost a full page column contributed by Jimmy Kimmell on why it was the worst idea ever :p
