I did. And I'm one who thinks that Howard on the American Idol show just wouldn't fly. I think the mass audience thinks he's passe, although the hardcores like us still enjoy the show.

I didn't notice that but they use that word fairly often so I don't know why not now.

What I am enjoying is Gilbert laughing at clips of his own laughing. It is five seconds of a clip and then 20 seconds of his actual laughter. It's killing me.

It's too bad Conan isn't live.

Which, btw, this was inspired by catching the HTV segment of "Lisa G Mad At Jason", for stepping in front of her in the group photo, and so having to listen to him say the word "pidtcher" 27 times.

But then I love how Ronnie steps in (whom I absolutely fucking can't stand, btw) and rags on Lisa for taking too much to heart, that "I'd of killed somebody here long ago if I let half the shit get to me that I take about myself everyday"... ohhhh you gotta be kidding me. Ronnie is filled with so much anger virtually every time I hear him speak, he appears bothered by the smallest, most inconsequential things and just goes off and yells that same goddamn thing every time of course, "wuts yorrr PRAWWWBLUM?!?!"

Come on guys.. I wouldn't go that far.

If I were him I would sour to it knowing about the whole gag order on Conan with NBC to not trash them after the show and stuff.

It just seems the whole thing would end up watered down anyway if he did do it.

I dunno..I guess I just look at it differently.

I dont think it would be that epic seeing Howard trash NBC with Conan just sitting there laughing uncomfortably.
Not to mention I really think NBC would edit the hell out of it anyway assuming that they would allow him to be on in the first place.

It was a good idea while it lasted..I just think Howard realized it really wasnt going to work that well if NBC had even allowed it to happen.

yeah I think people were hoping for the strippers-on-leno show that made it memorable but it wouldn't be the same now. If it was in NY and he only had to go a half hour to the NBC studio, that would've been great. He should go on Fallon and tell Jimmy why Conan should stay and they should get rid of him. Or have Howard do something with Skype for Conan, which could be lame, but could be funny and he could do it from the Sirius studios. He's in retirement mode for sure.

I'm starting to get pretty damn depressed. This could be the last year of Howard on radio...after being a listener for 15 years, don't know how the hell I would survive without him! Today, Robin mentioned that she is trying to start her own radio show. Booey is looking at other producers. Richard hoping his band takes off.

I think he told the staff his plans, and they are all looking elsewhere. My only hope is that maybe he will still do some radio, but because of the limited amount he will do, noone would be able to afford his huge staff, there will be no more tv, etc...Howard could carry a show by himself, I'd still listen.

So I watched Howard TV yesterday with a buddy as I only watch a couple of times a year.

A few observations: Benjy's girlfriend Sarah is hot but such a whack job. Holy shit she's bananas. I saw her in the strongest naked contest and then the idiot game with Sal and she's just a whack job.

My buddy is convinced that Howard has a wig on. He says there are photos on SFN that his hair is blowing in the wind and you can see a weave. Which brings the point, how many 60 year old guys have a thick head of hair like that, dark w/out dye job with nothing thinning?

Gosh that Tracy chick is fugly. First time I saw her. She was yelling at Benji and I was expecting, I don't know, someone looking like a bigger Kelly Clarkson or something. But holy cow, she is not good looking at all. No wonder she is pissed all the time.

Regarding the Jason vs. Lisa photo, they showed it on HTV and I didn't see Jason blocking Lisa. She can look good and then there are days where she doesn't look good at all. But she and Jason and Ronnie are very annoying and have jumped the shark totally. And I did notice during a segment of HTV where they showed the wrap up show and Gary saying they'll be done in 11 1/2 months, so I don't know.

I still say Howard should do a show on HBO like Mike and Mike in the morning where he gets paid a boat load and do what he wants. Maybe a weekly show or something.

I'm starting to think this is more and more possible, the intentional lying by him. Because I mean, he gave like three separate lies initially for the whole kissing the date situation, and none of them made any sense whatsoever, no even halfway reasonable reason for why you'd lie in a case like that.

And yes, the repetitive "yea" thing I brought up before, I don't believe for a second that he can't help himself. He sees in the moment for an opportunity for it to be something potentially funny (at least Howard obviously thinks so, whereas like I said before I can't stand it) and he starts doing it at will.

Are you talking about Elliot Offen? (if that's even how you spell it)

oh man, that freak... I seriously start to feel physically ill when I even LOOK at him, much less than having to hear him as well. He grosses me out with the chick fishnet shit he always wears and watching him dance around like he does, and a face that's so butt FUGLY, ugh even thinking about this now just to make the post, yuck. I want NOTHING whatsoever to do with him.

I was watching the HTV segment last night of Ralph's iron fist leading on the Geek Show, and man Jason is so obese, if just the sound of him laughing kinda icks you out hearing it on the radio, the image of watching him do it is straight up disturbing. I believe he's legitimately laughing, but he appears like he's laughing WAY harder than necessary, face all contorting weirdly and he practically doubles over :p

Which speaking of Ralph, one of the very few times I've ever agreed with Depace. That why are these guys bothering to bend over backwards accomadating Ralph on all this bullshit, I'd tell him to go fuck himself. I mean there's a matter of doing your job, and yet standing up to someone who's totally unreasonable and doesn't have all that real of authority over you anyway.

Right on. And to finally have the NYE details talked about, if even in a general way, I'm of course not in the least surprised. Because one of the things I hate most about Ralph (& it's a major pet peeve of mine of ANYONE) is how entitled he always seems to act about so many things. And I can't help but think it's gotta be at least partially a byproduct of the ridiculously priviledged life he's been given by Howard, getting paid I'm sure a crazy rate to do a very small amount of work, and he's become this guy who feels he absolutely will be acknowledged and reckoned with.

Yea but as Robin even quickly pointed out, we'll believe it when we see it. Because Howard has seemingly reached his breaking point with Ralph in the past before, and after a certain block of time he keeps eventually letting him back in.

Well Howard only vaguely went into it, they were already on the topic of Ralph being as ass from talking about Geek Time, and (least last I heard) Howard didn't wanna go too far into it without Ralph on the phone at the time to contribute. But basically, Howard had at the party a few of his celeb friends, the main example he said was Rob Zombie, and Ralph got so hammered that he was pretty much openly insulting people, more or less. And it really pissed off Howard, because it made shit awkward, etc.

Watched the uncensored "Jack and Coke" on Comedy Central's Secret Stash. There's a section near the end where Artie says "I want to thank my mother and sister Stacey for saving my life.... AGAIN." I was thinking to myself, "A couple months later, you're mom is literally going to save your life... AGAIN." It's amazing how turning 42 and going to a benefit for paraplegics caused a huge backslide into depression and drug use, to the point where he tried to (and almost succeeded) in committing suicide.

On another note, Artie's sister is fucking HOT!

howard has always said that Beth likes DMB but he doesn't get them. I think Dave's a fan. If Beth could only convince them to come in and do a song. I don't get why U2 or DMB or some cool rock band hasn't been in there. I know he's had a few, Aerosmith and Foo Fighters to name a few, but he could get so many other big bands in there.

Well and Artie's often been just as bad. No matter what it is, if it was anytime after, say, 1990 (& even that's probably too late) Artie invariably has no respect for it and thinks it's shit. I found his 'old school' attitude about so much to get a bit tiring.

He said he's been approached (as early as a year into his sirius contract) to make a return. He said they've realized that regular radio has taken a huge hit and they want him back. He said he met with them several times recently but doesn't see how he could possibly return to regular radio. He also acknowledged that it could just be a ploy to drive up his price to Sirius.

Exactly my point. Regular radio doesn't have that either, imo because the ad money isn't there to justify it. But if he's saying that regular radio is courting him, and they may or may not be, it gives him some leverage to drive up his price w/Sirius because they know there's no turning back if he leaves. They don't have any other programming to keep the masses if Stern bolts.

'Idol' producers want Howard Stern to replace Cowell

http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/idol...kfqa7EgK1nvRaN

"American Idol" producers are eager to hire Howard Stern to replace Simon Cowell as the show's tough-talking judge, sources tell Page Six.

An insider said that producers of the hit Fox show say Stern, America's highest-paid radio personality, is their top choice to take over from Cowell, who leaves at the end of this season. They approached the King of All Media after he repeatedly mentioned on-air that his exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January and he was open to other offers. Cowell was paid $50 million a year.

A couple of things. I take this with a grain of salt because it just reeks of being a negotiation ploy w/Sirius since his deal is near up. He's always talked about hosting a game show, ala the Price is Right as the ultimate cush job and he'd love to do it, and this would be the ultimate cush job. So funny how the media spins it:

Howard Stern says filling Simon Cowell's seat on American Idol would be the "best thing that happened to me" — but he would have to make "a ton of dough. "

"Yeah, I would do that show for $100 million," Stern told his Sirius satellite radio listeners Monday, reports TheWrap.

According to a TVGuide.com poll, 69 percent of users thought Stern should replace Cowell, while the rest opposed the idea.

"It might be possible, we'll see, "said Stern. "They'd have to pay me a ton of dough, because I already make a ton of dough."

Is Howard Stern replacing Simon Cowell on Idol?

Stern's five-year $500 million contract with Sirius expires at the end of this year.

Stern, 56, said he might be the only person who could fill the void left by Cowell.

Who should replace Simon Cowell on American Idol?

"If I do say so myself, I can't imagine anyone else but me replacing [Cowell]," Stern said. "I mean, I don't know. How else are they going to make that show work? Who knows how to broadcast and who knows how to be interesting? And who's not afraid to speak their mind?"

Yea I didn't hear any of the show today, suppose I'll catch it when HTV comes out with a segment of it in the next 24-48 hours, but I'm sorta guessing that a lot of that was just basically taken out of context, that there was lots of sarcasm to be had.

I mean if Howard seriously was going to move onto AI next year and announced that now, not only would I not be watching that (well, I already don't watch AI, or any reality TV for that matter, I despise all of it) but I would be so turned off I think I'd probably immediately cease following anything on the Stern show and not bother paying any attention the remainder of the year.

Poor Gary, with the whole having to put on a mask for a sybian ride with the Howard TV thing, I mean honestly I don't think Richie Wilson is any better looking than Gary, yet you never hear a word about him having to cover up, and he's always right there next to him, just as in view to the girl as Gary is :p

If the Howard from the early 1990's could meet the Howard from today, what do you think he'd day or think of him? Anything in particular?

Okay just for one example, I wonder if the earlier Howard would've been so obsessed with superfluous reality TV.

Well I'd actually never heard of her before she appeared on the show in 2006, I'm not too into hardcore anal in my porn but she is pretty cute, here's the segment of her sybian ride.

Well those of you who listened would know how this particular one was special, with Gary giving up the controls to guest Tracy Morgan (who's on the show so often lately I wonder if he's supposed to be Artie's replacement).

Dude I have no problem with that at all, though it shocks me they did, knowing Howard's tastes. The fewer things that "legitimize" them, the better. It's ridiculous that whole thing is as successful and popular as it is, glorifying and making rich these people are completely brain dead.

I can't believe they turned down the cast of Jersey Shore, so fuckin dumb. Especially when you see the list of upcoming guests in March:

Beetlejuice - 10 times per year
Lisa Lampaneli - 10 times per year
Joan Rivers - 200 times per year
Harry Shearer - who?
Cockyoke - So we get to see someone singing out of Richard's penis?
Barbara Walters - again? She'll probably call in.
Tommy James - who?
Jesse Ventura - No way this could be possible, he has been in every month. I like him but its too much.
The Tiger Woods' Mistress Beauty Pageant - Cool.
Janice Dickinson - 80's?
Andrew Dice Clay - 80's? I still like him though.
Karl the Hammer Cock - what the fuck?
Carol Liefer - 80's?
Richard Lewis - Again?
Pete Rose - Cool.

HoldemHart

You seriously don't know who Harry Shearer is? :ugh First of all, he's one of the key voice actors on the Simpsons (Mr Burns, Smithers, Principle Skinner, etc) a long time comic actor (most Christopher Guest stuff, including an original band member in "This Is Spinal Tap"), and finally he's almost as much of a radio institution as Howard is, he's had shows on NPR for many years.

I like Lisa Lampanelli, but c'mon, she is getting a bit much. I can take or leave Dice. Mostly leave I think, actually. Beetlejuice, I know I'm in the minority but one of my least fave WPers, I tire of him very quickly. Joan Rivers, I loathe with every fiber of my being and it pains me just to know that Howard is buds with her. She's got such an ugly soul, just what a complete waste of useful blood. The fact that her roast was hosted by Kathy Griffin was a double whammy -- I absolute despise Griffin. I hate her "comedy", and she's easily the butt FUGLIEST (I hesitate to use the word) woman in Hollywood. Jesse Ventura is just batshit crazy. He's had some quotes on organized religion in the past that I liked, but his whole 9/11 conspiracy is insane.

I roll my eyes at any particular radio show having different Tiger mistresses as guests, as seems to be the hip thing lately, but, the concept of putting several together into a Stern-style pageant, that could be good.

Actually, I think I could argue against that. More often than not, the pornstars have no delusions about who and what they are.

EDIT: and just out of curiosity -- are any of you taking advantage of the Sendspace links of the Howard TV Sybian ride videos? I mean the links are already made, primarily for somewhere else, I just thought I could put them here as well since it's little extra effort. but I'm just wondering.
