Watching the Howard TV segment of all the impression contestants in studio oh man is fucking hilarious. The guy doing Mark The Bagger easily brings up the rear, but it's mostly because like they said, that guy was really nervous and it affected his deal, he sounded better on his original submission. John The Stutterer, yea closing my eyes I'm really not sure I'd be able to tell the difference between him and the real one.
But I think the fact alone that Rachel did multiple great ones (even though she was officially entered as Underdog lady) might be it, because her Lupe and Tracy ones were awesome too. And Rachel herself, well I tend to appreciate pretty curvy girls, she might be a little too heavy even for me, but she had a really cute face, she actually reminds me A LOT of a good friend of mine, who oddly enough is also named Rachel.

I dug a few minutes of the earring talk and then when they got Howard's mom on it was zzzzzzzzz. Once they got Artie and Sulu on and were running on full gears, its kinda hard to go back and listen to the older shows. Some stuff just doesn't age well.

They were. That wasn't a recording, that was the people in the studio actually clapping. They did this a lot, even in the early K-Rock days.

Howard can be a putz a lot of times with taking credit for stuff, but I think he did revive Sulu's career. Ever since he put him on the radio, he went from doing Star Trek conventions to now being on Heroes, pitchman for Sony and now a guest spot on The Big Bang Theory. Give Stern props for reviving his career.

Anyone listen to Celebrity Superfan? Lots of Artie talk. I give Probst a lot of credit, he flat out asked Gary why the show never talks about him and why he is ignored.
Recap of Booey's comments:
-Howard does not want to fill chair when he hears about Artie news.
-A couple of months later when it got passed the uncomfortable thing that happened to Artie, Howard told Gary that he likes having his freedom back without Artie in the chair...
-"It is Artie's story to tell..."
-"If" and "when" Artie comes in...
-Talk to Artie more than anybody, he is doing "very well"...I wouldn't say he is doing "great"
-Talks to him once every 2 months. Sometimes more.
-His shrink thought it was a good idea to do stand up last weekend.
-In June he said he was clean and sober for 6 months but the downside is he has the clarity to see how much he "fucked things up".
-Gary never knew what Artie he was going to get, the high one or the down one.
-Referred to it as the "Artie era" and that time has passed...
Probst says that he could see Artie back on the show. Sarah Silverman says that a long amount of time would have to pass, like 2+ years. Gary is silent and never even mentions that Artie would be a guest.
That's about it. It really sounded like Gary was bitter and really looks at the Artie era like a bad era of the show (my opinion). He was not positive about what he brought to the show at all, which is a shame because it was the greatest era of the show.

Just had something occur to me... with how much in general they've tried to stay away from the Artie topic (it's clear there have even been sometimes where there's presented a VERY obvious and even natural point to talk more about him maybe with a guest or something, and Howard steamrolls right over it into another topic), I wonder if when getting submissions for the impressions contest, if someone had done a really great Artie sounding one, would they have still actually included it.
But man I've been sorta keeping up on facebook with that Rachel Butera chick who won, and she's really had a lot of shit take off for her since then, a lot of great opportunities, including I think getting an agent for the first time. (and she mentioned once about coming back to the studio to record some kind of show intros)

I was a dying when Howard asked Gary if he was ready to pack up and get out of Sirius with only 28 shows left. The clincher for me was the exchange a few minutes later....
<Gary come into the studio>
Gary: "A lot of people in back are asking what they're supposed to pack and where are they bringing it."
Howard: "I'll have to let you know."
End Show
Way to dodge that bullet.

I just discovered a couple days ago I'd had an older Sybian ride video but that I never put up anywhere. Though true, it's far from the best. I'm sure most of you remember the Napier Brothers? Easily my least favorite guests in the history of the show, just unimaginably annoying, huge douchebags. A visit in 2007, they brought this model chick named Christina with them and she rode it. Like I said it's not the best, in terms of her getting off (& I tried to cut it as close as possible to limit how much off the asshole twins are seen) but it's fairly short and she's kinda hot, so I figured why not put it up.

What happened was she came in to do the show and Bubba told her he had a blind guy on his staff that never gets laid and he wanted to know if she would give him a hand job.
(the guy was not blind :lol)
She actually agreed but when she learned he wasn't blind (she did not perform the hand job) She completely flipped out and like Netig said she left the building and Spice followed her.

So I started the book. If someone can remind me how to do spoilers it's appreciated. For now I'll just put some initial comments way below. This is your spoiler alert.
Spoiler Alert.
Okay well I'm about 44 pages into it. I like it a lot and it's hard to put down. He's very descriptive and I hear his voice in my head as I am reading these stories. I like the very simple things like what time he leaves his house, what time he's on the highway and what time he's on the road and at the station. Stuff like that he talks in passing, but I like that type of thing.
Man he's had a f ed up childhood. I thought mine was bad and I had 3 other brothers with crazy parents. His stories are very sad but inspiring. I knew some stuff about the gay brother and little about the other brother. Didn't even know about the other brother. But his stories with his mom are pretty cool so far. I can empathize with the part of him and family (well, mother) not getting along with the neighbors who lived right on top of him. That's my situation right now. But there's a story here with the mom and the neighbor that will make you laugh out loud. It's a lot of stuff with the mom and her mental illness right now but it's riveting stuff.

I'm going to guess that he'll be continuing in some fashion, even if it's nothing like the current Sirius template, and if for no other reason than if he really were to completely walk away, to still not tell all those employees that with less than 2 months to go would be an incredibly shitty thing to do.

Yup. He hates Artie. Really a shame after the years of great radio he gave Howard.
Now ya see I have to admit this kinda irks me a little bit. Just that, okay even if you take Howard at his word that he genuinely didn't know those times when Artie had been back on heroin, but aside from that all those moments where the awkward physical manifestations on what was going on with Artie had resulted in what was treated as hilarious in studio moments, ya know the falling asleep and things like that, Howard became the epitome of an enabler and allowed (& even maybe encouraged) it to go on because in the end it was all about the show, and what got the most laughs. And, if Howard sincerely was TOTALLY in the dark about ANYTHING negative going on with Artie at the time, then he truly is cut off into his own little untouchable universe and a narcisisist.
And fuck it's not like Artie's been on some crusade to get his same old job back, he simply would like to come into the studio for ONE DAY and talk about it, but Howard's not allowing that. Fuck you, Stern. That's a real douchebag thing to do, all things considered.

I'll listen to Howchie until he is not on anymore, or until Artie gets his own radio show. This year the show is not as funny as it used to be. Hamptons Howie is too calm and not like he used to be, and there is no one with an edge, like Artie had. I actually wouldn't be against having Benji on the mic more, or having Sal in the Artie chair. It seems like I laugh most when Benji/Sal are on the air, or when they beat on Fa Fa Flunkie and his lists, boff.

As my buddy and fellow Stern fan Uncle Josh once said, he's a liar and hypocrite. He lied about plastic surgery when he had it on his nose, he's a guy that blasted Chevy Chase for years and then invites him to his wedding, he's a guy who made fun of Jesse Ventura--saying he was a goof candidate and now they're BFF. I remember when Stern blasted Ronnie for building him a custom limo and Stern not liking it and they killed an hour with that. Or bringing him in for the whole Scoresman. Or when Lonnie left Scores what was Ronnie gonna do?

He does like to talk. I don't know if anyone remembers but when Stern was leaving KROCK, Artie and Gary were offered a show. I say if Stern does his own thing and the gang goes their way, Jon Hein, Artie and friends should do a show. That's if Howard does a podcast and doesn't need the others. Gary will have a place to land, no doubt.

Artie should start his own show since Howchie won't let him on.

Just got back from the book signing, I will post the pics later, I wasn't able to take many but I got one with Booey. I was really surprised at the turnout, they sold out of books and I got there early to get in for the Q&A, but wasn't able to really hear, book store sucked for a Q&A. But when I got out there was a line that was longer than when I first got there.
I thanked Baba booey for coming out to the west coast and I also asked him what his favorite parody song was and he said, Star Wars Booey. Dude looked tired though, and he still had a lot of more books to sign and pics to take.
These are the people I saw there, Jillian Barberie, Larry Melrose Green, Mark McGrath, Nancy Sinatra, Bill Kinison and Jeff Probst.

Well they made fun of Gary for an hour, but it wasn't nearly as funny as it should have been, especially because Howard can't pitch a ball so he can't really make fun of fa fa flo-hi as bad as Artie can. And Artie's laugh is genuine, where as Howard was kinda forcing it in this moment.
Howard is best making fun of Gary for other things, like lists and being bored in Vegas.

I gotta agree with the crew, I don't understand why Baba booey is pissed at Kimmel. He gave him a chance to redeem himself, he had 3 shots and he baba booeyed it.

Baba Booey is being pretty stupid about this pitch, saying he got ambushed. Booey did it because he thought he could do it, and once again he showed he can't pitch for shit, I love it though.

was that a real baseball? Fail on Kimmel show for having the stunt so close to the crowd. Don't get it unless it was a nerf, but why would that chick rub her head?

Baba booey confirmed it was a real ball today on the show. I dont see why its a fail on Kimmels part? Its not like he asked Gary to rifle a fastball or anything. Booey blew it, couldn't even just toss it over to Kimmel.
javierm27

The thing I will give credit to Gary is he caught the throwbacks from Kimmel with ease. But man, he couldn't even just lob it over to him in 3 attempts.

Today's Billy Joel interview is immediately top 3 in show history and probably a top 5 moment in show history. This is the first time I've ever sat down and been glued to my radio for an entire interview. It's a shame it had to end.
