2 main points. Howard does not deserve bonuses over a merger. I mean XM people can't even get Stern without paying an extra fee!
On top of that, if XM people wanted to switch bc of Stern they had a good 3 years to do so! Plus Stern doesn't even need any more money.
Let's just hope it lights a fire under Howard's ass and makes the show more entertaining.
This does come out of leftfield, I wonder how far along with the lawsuit Don Buckwald and Howard were when they resigned?

This is all too funny. Just yesterday Howard was getting on Les Moonves for when Les sued him then said eh, it's just a business thing, let's still be friends. So basically Howard is doing the exact same thing to his best buddy in the whole world Mel Karmazin.

I kind of see Sterns point on suing the company. But what does stand out to me is the amount of money the company has wasted on people who don't even promote the company as much as Stern does. Like Oprah, negro woman from the south.

This is what I was thinking too.
I mean wouldn't he have had a stronger case if he didn't re-sign and subscribers dropped drastically?
He could then have a better case to say what he is claiming I think.

Unless they reduced his salary so much and he is pissed, but didn't want to go through the hassle of going to a new medium, so he signed and then decided to sue.

Howard Suing Sirius XM. 03/23/11. 6:20am
Howard took a call from a guy who asked about this lawsuit he has with Sirius XM. Howard said he is suing them. He said he has never gotten on the air and discussed his financial situation. That's just not something he does. He said this ties in with that so he won't say a lot about it. He said he's an honest guy and he's operating from an honest place. He said he knows one thing and he's honest and he believes that he's been dealt with unfairly. He said it's not comfortable to be doing this but that's what he thinks he has to do. He said he can't get into it much more than that. Howard said he isn't asking for anything that isn't his.
The caller said that it seems like Howard always lives up to his side of contracts and the companies are the ones who pull out. Howard said he's not going to get into it much more than that. He said it's very unfortunate. The caller asked how management is treating him now. Howard said he hasn't had any interaction with them since the lawsuit was filed.
The caller asked if he had checked out Bubba on RaidoIo.com. Howard said he hasn't but he's sure whatever Bubba is doing is good.
Robin said this whole thing is shocking. Howard said he couldn't handle this any other way. He said he feels like breaking up a dressing room but he won't be doing that.
Howard said he can't get into the details of the suit. He said he would like to but he's trying to use his head. He said he's ready to go home now. He said he'd like to talk about this because now he's distracted. He said this whole thing is not pleasant. He said he knows Robin wants to ask him stuff but he can't talk about it. He said that this is something that has happened to many people and he's just one in a long line. He said that he's going to continue his association with the company. This is just a business argument. He said he has to take a break to get his mind off of this. He said he's very distracted right now. Howard said he has to calm himself down after that. He said he feels like taking his shirt off right now. It's very weird.

Anyone read this lawsuit? Another Howchie lie. It was 4 days all along. Man, just be honest, we understand you have been doing this for 30 years!!!! FUCK.
31. On or about October 1,2004, One Twelve and Sirius executed a letter agreement (the "Agreement"). Buchwald also executed the Agreement with respect to a paragraph headed "Consulting Fee." The Agreement set forth the principal terms of the agreement between One Twelve and Sirius "with respect to the licensing to Sirius exclusively on radio of the Howard Stern [Show] and certain related matters."
32. The Agreement required Sirius to establish a channel dedicated to the Howard Stern Show and other programming developed by Stern. One Twelve agreed to produce the Howard Stem Show exclusively for airing live on Sirius from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and a "best of' show to air on Friday in that same time slot.

well he went live 5 days the first 6 months during the summer. But I don't think that was ever advertised while on KROCK. I don't think Stern has been completely honest with the entire xfer of the show from commercial radio. I wish someone would've asked if he was going to stick w/5 days when switching over.

Ok, just checked back on Marksfriggin. He did 3 Friday shows, between 1/9/2006 and the week of 1/23/2006. He started "The Friday Show" on 1/30/2006 and never worked a Friday since....
Fucking Howchie and his lies. God, I love the guy but never thought I would feel the way I'm feeling currently. It is just a completely different show I'm listening to. Reports: Interpol Issues Arrest Warrant for Lupe Fuentes
By Steve Javors
Mar 22nd, 2011 03:30 PM
LOS ANGELES—According to numerous Spanish-language news reports, Interpol is seeking the arrest of Lupe Fuentes in connection with a child pornography investigation into the activities of her ex-husband, Pablo Lapiedra.
The investigation into Lapiedra began in late 2008 when the Technological Investigation Brigade (BIT) of Spain, Colombia’s National Police and Interpol uncovered a teenage prostitution ring in which one of its members, a 16-year-old Colombian girl, appeared in pornographic films for Lapiedra, according to ColombiaReports.com.
The multi-agency investigation into Lapiedra was prompted by a complaint from a school in Medellin, Colombia, after it surfaced that one of its students, the 16-year-old girl, appeared in a porn video. According to ElPeriodico.com, Lapiedra was identified as the cameraman in the videos.
The scenes in question appeared on PabloLapiedra.com, Zuleidy.com and ZuleidyLapiedraStar.com, according to ElPais.com—sites registered to his former wife, Colombian citizen Zuleidy Piedrahita, aka Lupe Fuentes.
Fuentes, a white-hot sensation in the U.S. adult film industry and current Wicked Pictures contract star, is divorced from Lapiedra and now lives in the U.S.
According to the AFP, the student testified, "Zuleidy was by colleges in Medellín and Bello, offering the students to participate in films.
"Before appearing in the video [the girl] was made to sign some papers which have a different name and pretended to be older.”
Lapiedra was arrested late last week in Spain. According to WRadio.com.co, he deceived the girls by telling them the videos he wanted them to appear in were for a “casting call” and then provided them with false documentation so they could pass for legal age.
A Colombian judge will decide on Monday if Lapiedra will be extradited to Spain.
At press time Fuentes' official site, ILoveLupe.com, was offline.
Fuentes had not responded to a request for comment at post time.

And in particular moments where someone's ragging on him and he's desperately searching for some type of comeback only to spew out something so lame and tepid, I literally feel uncomfortable listening/watching.

I've never really been a fan of the "man in the street" interviews on the show, no matter who's conducting them, be it him, Sal or Richard or whoever else. Nor do I like (I know I've said this before) when Stuttering John did any celeb red carpet stuff, that's one entire element of the show I didn't connect with in the least.

It's a take on someone having sex with someone and then ignoring them afterwards because you are ashamed or because they mean nothing to you and you just wanted to come. Then it applies that attitude to animals, but they are really ignoring you because they are big dumb animals. Not because they were just using you for sex.

I have such a love/hate relationship with the Howard Stern show. I used to listen when he was on regular radio. I stopped listening to him when he went to Sirius and then just started listening to him again since I have free Sirius in my new car.
I have to say, he is hands down the BEST interviewer I have ever heard. When he has a celeb in, it's brilliant and riveting. However, I just feel like something is missing from his show.
Forgive my ignorance (because I havent listened in so long) but what happened to Artie? And do they have someone that has replaced him? It just seems like Howard and Robyn and then a few voices chime in here and there. The news segment can be interesting, but I feel like both Howard and Robyn ruin it.
Debbie the pet lady is fucking awesome though.

A lot of us agree with you that something is missing...and that something is COMEDY.
Artie - Was hilarious, became a heroin addict, tried to kill himself by stabbing himself in the stomach 9 times in the beginning of January, 2010. No one has seen or heard from him since, other than one unpromoted stand-up appearance in NYC. Howard has said that he doesn't want Artie back because he is afraid that it would bring up bad memories for him.
He has also said he does not want someone in the chair to replace Artie, he likes the show the way it is. And this is the main problem with the show. Without a third voice, it is just Howard and Robin talking about shit. The show is missing its edge, and truly missing comedy.

Ok, glad I'm not alone.
There really needs to be a third person. I would make the show amazing again.

I really wish Howard would realize how much better the shows have been with George and David in the studio, but sadly I don't think he realizes it. He thinks the show, with just him and Robin, is the best it has ever been, which is so far from the truth.
I'd be completely fine with a rotating guy in the chair...Gilbert, other comedians, David, George, Jeff Probst, other celebrity superfans (Ryan Phillipe?)...It would make the show a million times better. And with the show going to 3 days a week, I'm sure they can get these guys to sit in for 3 days...

This bit is a prime example of how Artie made the show better. Howard would whine about his life and Robin commiserated with him ("Your life is terrible!"). Then Artie would throw an awesome zinger in there that would make the room explode with laughter.
Now, we just have a depressing shell of a show where we hear how terrible Howard's life is.

Thing about the people on the show...they don't have any true comedy guys other than Howard, and I classify him as more of a brilliant radio guy. Robin just laughs and comments. Benji - I'm not sure about the lines he writes. Fred is funny but never talks. Gary - producer. Richard and Sal - great with their bits but Howard never puts them on the air. Jason/JD/Will/Ronnie - funny characters but nothing more.

Robin drives me nuts and all but Todd Phillips came off like a real prick when he was talking about her. It was uncomfortable.

I agree with them. Howard is too afraid to say it himself.

Man that was pretty awesome what Todd Phillips said, he told it like it is. I love it, I also laughed during the interview because Robin pretty much stayed out of the conversation, hahahaha. She may be going back into her depression.

Based on the opening of the show today, I'm guessing Howard's lawsuit isn't going so well.

Doesn't sound that way.
I freakin love Jimmy Fallon.

Jimmy Fallon was great this morning.
Gary's first pitch was on Stern Show Shuffle yesterday... I don't know why I do this to myself. Every time I listen to the Shuffle I end up not being able to listen to the current show the next morning. After that Fallon interview I had to turn it off. More whining and moaning about Sussy, more making fun of Oprah, more interviews on the street about who people like more. Ugh.
hbktonyb
05-24-2011, 11:22 AM
Yeah, I heard the pitch. Man Artie was on fire during that segment.
But Fallon was incredible today. My 3 regular host type shows that I watch/listen to now are Howard, Fallon, and Black on Black.

I'm going to go as far as to say that Fallon was the best guest on Stern this year. Hilarious dude.

I didn't understand that exchange during the Flavor Flav interview today when Stern said that he shot the neighbor. Flav said he didn't. Then Stern said he was so out of his mind at one point that he "could have" shot his neighbor. I just couldn't make any sense of the whole part of that subject there.

Nice! Intern week! I might get some play! Does anyone give a shit besides me? :lol
This Music of Howard Stern special on 101 is awesome though, so many good "Unplugged"-esque performances.

I've been listening. Let me know if any of your segments are on the air!
CrashDMB237

The only segment that would be on is when I "fought" with Ronnie about him only inviting the female interns to his block party but I doubt that makes the air although it was hilarious... just not because of me. Richard was ragging on Ronnie about the "hopey copey" and then Ronnie and Will got into it. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was almost 4 years ago :shrug

silly question but they all are, really. So when Stern makes up with, say a Rosie Odonnell, does he now have to go pull all the tapes of when they made fun of her and when Janks called into her show, etc? Or does Stern not care? Curious.
hbktonyb
06-04-2011, 10:48 AM
I would bet that he pulls the tapes. Remember how much they used to make fun of Tyra with the "So What?" sound clip. Haven't heard that in at least a couple of years.

Today just pissed me off to no end. Is Howard fucking serious with this whole Black on Black thing? He wants the show cancelled because Big Black wants to get paid for the first time after doing their first show back in March? And then Howard says that he hasn't gotten paid in 60,000 years and he is taking them to court. Seriously that was a fucked up thing to say. Howard makes millions per year, and Big Black and KOAB put on a show that is funnier than Howards and they haven't even gotten their couple of hundred bucks. Then Howard gets offended when King says he doesn't need the money.
That show is so good that it could replace Howard in the mornings and I would be completely fine with it. It took 6 years but they finally found a great Howard 101 show and they fuck them in the ass.

Good show today. Amazing how much better it is with a little Booey bashing, which he never does anymore, and Richard and Sal in the studio.
Only complaint is Lisa G talks. Who gives a fuck about her love life. And Lisa is NOT pretty at all.
