...if anyone here has played a Guild Peregrine?
Please do tell if you have and let me (us) know what you think. I know they use the Fishman Matrix Natural system but that's about it.
I've never seen one and therefore have never played one.
Anyone have thoughts on this solidbody a/e?

I'm not 100% sure, but a guy who used to play in Boston, named Pat Burtis, played that guitar at his live shows. It sounded just like an acoustic guitar.

I think it's interesting that a lot of people have so many thoughts on the Chet SST and have none on another solidbody acoustic. I guess I'm a different breed of dog when it comes to this because if I'm looking for a certain sound I play dozens of like guitars to see what everyone offers.
Perhaps Rob is right in his assessment that people buy instruments based soley on a famous musician's preferences.

I don't think it's a question that nobody on this board would have an SST if it weren't for Dave. There's no justification for the guitar's purchase otherwise- the stumbling defenses of the instrument amount to somebody trying to convince themselves they didn't just blow over a grand on a waste.
As for the Guild, I believe I did stumble across one once. It played okay, but was in bad need of a setup (the owner admitted as much). As such, the intonation wasn't what it should have been. I've always been a fan of the Guild neck design, so that was the axe's big quality for me. I just don't understand the point of a solidbody acoustic these days, however. You can kill feedback in full-bodied acoustics and get a better sound with current technology. However, if you're dead-set on a thinline guitar with an acoustic pickup... I suppose this gives you an option if buzzing like an alcoholic isn't your thing.

Or you could get the Taylor T5 and do it right. :)

The T5 messed with my head...I couldn't make up my mind if I liked it or not. The guitar itself is kickass, but it plays w/my musical emotions as far as what I liken it to

Whoa.
People tell me I think too much, but not compared to this. ;) It's just an instrument.
