Meh. It's not that you all can't play... the sound is just... meh. Sounds like it's from 1990 or so.

Just my nickel.

Thank you for atleast replying... haha i am open to any comments, evryone opinion means something to us so thankyou for offering it. Here is the link to another song which you will find sounds much different from Drive Me. It is very radioish and doesnt COMPLETELY represent the way we sound now, as we did all of these recordings early in our bands "career". But, none the less, i will post it here for you guys to listen to . Again, any criticism or praise is welcome.

HERE (http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0UUZJ7OYWIPBA3HYMA0PLQ657L) is Driving Down Fremont

P.S itis simply a coincidence that both of the songs i have posted contain the word "Drive" in their titles. :)

Yeah man, I thought it was pretty sweet, I like the feel a lot its got a lot of energy. Its clearly a different style entirely from dmb, but I can hear a little bit of the carter influence in your drumming (certain tom hits added in and some beat displacement) the only criticism I have against your drumming at all is that sometimes when you bounce the stick on the snare to get that double hit it seems a little bit messy. Maybe try spacing them out just a tiny bit more and actually playing both hits with ghost notes rather than solely relying on the bounce would help but im not even convinced you need both hits. But good tho, I thought it was very well done. Let me know if you have a website and I can send you some of what Ive been working on too, im a drummer as well. :thumbsup

Listening to the beginning of Driving Down Freemont I hear more of your style emerge, its kinda like Greenday mixed with Dispatch, its cool. But one thing id say is that first fill, hit the toms with some authority, i like the idea but the tom hits sound really tentative. I like the cymbal hits with the band they work well. One other thing I would say is maybe put a little more syncopation into the kick drum part rather than hitting all on downbeats and such. But I do like it, it keeps you moving. From listening to you I would say the one thing I would tell you is to play with a little more faith behind what youre doing, it sounds like a lot of it is slightly tenative or edgy at times. Just relax and jam, its great stuff you definately have something to work with.

Adam, thankyou so much for your comments, my band and i greatly appreciate them. Yes, the stick bouncing was something that i did not even notice was sounding messy untill our recording were done. You see, i was limited to a little less then a week to lay down the drums for these tracks as i had to leave for the summer right after. I originally had a lot of that stick rolling on the hi hats but quickly noticed the messiness and got rid of it for the studio cut. Thank you tho for being so thorough(sp?) in your commentary. Most people either do not have time or do not care enough to actually write something about the bands that post their music here on the boards. Anyways, I would love to hear anything that youve been working on and put in my two cents. If you would like to send me anything just hit me up on AIM at Marco2435 or on MSN messenger at Travisbarker1324@hotmail.com. Thank you again.
