I've been using audacity for some time for recording songs on my computer (great program by the way- if you don't have it, you should consider downloading it: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/). Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to record two channels at one time just using the standard jacks that come with my computer. Right now I have a guitar plugged into the line in and a microphone plugged into the mic jack, which means I can record both of those things simultaneously onto one track. But is there any way to record both of those input devices onto two separate tracks at the same time???

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks,
-Jamie

Id suggest investing in a Low Priced Behringer Mixer... www.musiciansfriend.com

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but for those of you using audacity, have you found any decent way to a) do the above and b) add decent sounding reverb?

you'll need to download some VST plugins i think, as for creating 2 tracks simultaneously im pretty sure you can't do it with the program

If you are familiar with the program, would you mind taking me through the steps to download the VST program and implement it. The audacity instuctions are pretty worthless in my opinion. Thanks.
