white deposits on my soundhold humidifier

anyone know how to prevent this? i'm on my second one, and no matter what i do, after a few weeks i get this white crap on the openings and on the sponge itself...what's the deal?

Try washing it thoroughly with filtered water, then use filtered water to wet it. It sounds like you might have hard water.

if you're not using distilled water.......that's definitely the reason.

distilled is the only way to go if you ask me...
