Hey guys and girls, I have to play a solo in the A Minor Pentatonic scale tomorrow in class. Does anyone know of some col licks or even just some help in this situation. I usually play rhythym and have very limited skills in lead. Thanks you all.:lorraine

Take an A Minor pentatonic scale and mess around with it. You will come up with something decent in the time that it takes for someone to respond.

i have a really good lick, but i want to use it in a song, so i'm kinda wary of giving it to you.
you can work up something bluesy with no problem. besides, is this lead or rhythm? there are songs that have rhythm lines instead of chords...

Play random notes and random rhythms, but make sure all the notes are in the Am pentatonic scale. You'll come up with something. The minor pentatonic is the easiest scale to play on.

As a more interesting side note: this just means the chords aren't played. There has to be a fundamental chord progression even if it is riff based, right?

yeah, but i'm just saying that just becuase you play rhythm doesn't mean you can't play single note stuff.
if you want to be a really good rhythm player, check out Pete Townshend. He's a good example of what i'm talking about.

I'm sorry if this information is readily available and I apologize for bouncing off topic but I was hoping someone could send me in the right direction for all of the scale. Not all mind you, but something to get me in the right direction interms of Soloing would be excellent.
