why litter a thread with tabs when you can just make references and easily find the tabs online...whatever floats your boat though

i'll add death cab for cutie's "title and registration" as well

why dont you go post that over on the Hendrix message board then?

This is a musician discussion forum that is not limited to the playing of Dave Matthews. Both of these songs, Yellow Ledbetter and Jimi Thing are obvious tributes to Jimi....this thread is about guitar riffs....I was giving the origin of where the ideas of these riffs came from.

well im not saying its a waste of space/money, but some people may not like certain tabs, ya know?

I actually think this thread is a really good idea, having a collection of different kinds of tabs available for exposure of different kinds of music. A person may not take the time to listen to a song or search for the tab if they are not interested in the band. But actually seeing the tab may catch their eye and discover something they may have never taken the time to examine. If people don't like certain tabs, its easy to scroll down right past them.

To each his own I guess.

Here's a clapton song I play all the time called Nobody Knows You When You're down and out from his unplugged album.

That would be cool if you recorded it, and we could compare it to my version. Even though you have the tab and the time sig, I'm sure it would sound differnet in the rhythm and such.

Thanks

How do you see the keyboard with their balls in your face?

funny.

whatever, i just listed some of my favorite guitar riffs. they just all happened to be by phish, which isn't surprising considering trey is one of the badest motherfuckers on the planet.

i love tons of riffs by other artists as well, but there seems to be a severe lack of respect and understanding of phish around here, so i thought i'd throw a few tunes out there.

Axilla IS a fuckin badass tune.

Bowie ending is INSANE...love to play that.

Always With Me, Always With You - Joe Satriani

Yeah Any Satriani really - dude is a badass. Since is seems more acoustic stuff, this is my favorite of Joe's to play on acoustic, not too difficult and sounds cool.

Oh, another badass song by Satriani is "Day at the Beach" but its all 2-hand fret tapping which I find to be rather difficult if not impossible to sound good on an acoustic. But if you have an electric and you get it down, its awesome. I'll post the tab if you want it, but its kinda long.

there's an easier way to play it....look for the YEM powertab, it's not only easier, but all the parts are correct. great song.
Could someone post the tab or at least give me a link? I'm interested in learning this one.
