Yeah parking is a biatch. People will be happy just getting in there. I'm avoiding all that mess by shuttling in on the Foothill Transit Shuttle from Pasadena. But I'm heading down there around 1pm for some lunch and drinks at a bar, I hope to be nice and toasty by the time I board the shuttle around 4:30. Since I won't be tailgating I'll catch all of the Family Band's opening act. They are pretty good.

No cans. They say no alcohol, but for most shows, well LA Phil shows they aren't strict at all. Most people bring Wine. You can try to take whatever you want in sports water bottles, or something tuperware like.

I was at Irvine Friday night, and I cannot wait for tonights show. I have seen DMB many times, mostly at larger venues, so Verizon Ampitheater was a breath of fresh air...Hollywood Bowl is going to be specatacular!!! I am sure the tailgating is going to be very weak because of the parking situation. I am shuttling from Westwood, so we will be drinking on the shuttle and outside of the bowl before entering...

There are 2 different lists of can's and cant's. One is for LA Phil events, and another for Leased Events. Tonight's being Leased. The leased events are more strict. I'm sure you can bring alcohol inside if you conceal it correctly.

Saw this posted on the OC Register blog by the local music writer, Ben Werner. This is from July 5, 2006:

The Bowl, remember, is like the former Irvine Meadows: It has an 11 p.m. sound curfew, which is enforced far more strictly at the Bowl than at Verizon, which is already pretty Gestapo-like, if you ask me.

I have been trying to confirm this all day. I was at Irvine on Friday and it makes a huge difference in the show. They took the stage at 8:30, that meant a 2 hour main set, then a quick encore. Unlike in Chula Vista, where the main set didn't end until 11:00. That show ended a little before 11:30.

Hope tonight is different and the band hits the stage closer to 8 or 8:15. If not, could be a 'shorter' show.

I was at the Riverbend show in Cincinnati and the main set ran long because of a Warren Haynes solo on Jimi Thing. They, too, have an 11 pm curfew. Well the band came on for the encore and played ED with an abbreviated solo ending. One song, truncated... not happy.
But on the other hand... Hershey has a curfew as well, and when the band times it right, you dont' even realize it's being time confined...

I'm not gonna lie, it was an adventure to keep down, but it's awesome bragging rights. I swim on a team daily, so I have to keep my protein intake up!

I am really interested to check out 5 Guys. Heard a lot of great things about the place. I think regardless of how it is, I will always remain partial to In-n-Out. Call it west coast bias. Or just damn good burgers.
