Good article, I was so done with Rhodes.

But so so SO many people who watch 3 Jet games a year think he's some sort of fucking stud. He's not a good safety, period.

Perfect explanation as to why trading Rhodes was addition by subtraction:

Kerry Rhodes does suck and it WAS a good move getting rid of him. Unless you watched every single game to see how many hits Rhodes didn't even try to make, how many times he blew TE coverage (cost us THREE games), how many times he missed tackles when he actually tried, I don't think your opinion really matters. There's a reason the team, the players, the fans all wanted him gone.

Kerry Rhodes was so terrible. He hasn't made any kind of play in years. The Jets best move was to not have him on the team again, sucking it up.

So because I don't see him for 16 weeks, my opinion is void? He doesn't SUCK. You might not have liked him, whatever it doesn't matter. I guess my problem is trying to talk about something Jets related with a hardcore Jets fan. I'll leave now so this doesn't unnecessarily drag on.

Shit, if you watched him for 8 weeks should have seen how fucking bad he was. I just don't get how you can tell me something about someone I've watched for years (even the one good season he had) but you haven't. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, sure. But the evidence is pretty hard stacked here.
And have you noticed you're the only person that doesn't think he sucks? Like I said, when the team and players want him gone, he's got to be doing something wrong.
Edit: Why do you act like I think everything the Jets do is awesome? Because I like signing LT? I like signing Jason Taylor? I like cutting a guy who fizzled out at the end of last year in favor of the guy who carried us into and through the playoffs? I like trading for Holmes? I like signing Revis? I'm a fan of trading a 5th round pick for Antonio Cromartie? Man, I'm such a homer.

Hey, anyone going tonight, my buddies and I are bringing a leftover keg from this weekend to the tailgate. It is full so we will have plenty of free beer. We will be in the parking lot that used to be 13 and probably in the front. They renamed the lots so not sure what it is now. It is the one with the Giants training facility in the back.
I will be wearing a white Leon Washington and my buddy is driving his black F-150 and we will also be grilling (the food is for us though).

Gotta just throw it away then. You need to know the line is cut blocking. Cut blocks only work for a second. After that you are fucked if you don't just do a 3 step drop and throw.

The Jets suck, the parking sucks, the stadium is a piece of shit, it is quiet, you have to go to the 3rd level to get to the 2nd level, I should be qbing the team.
Here's how I look at this season.
Pats - loss, 0-2, season over.
@ Miami - loss, 0-3, Brunnell starting.
@ Bills - win, 1-3, nice job Brunell.
Vikings - loss, Favre shoves it down Kyle Wilson's cunt.

When he completes his first downfield pass his WR who is wide open can't even find a first down marker that is 6 to his left :lol if they can hold every team to 10 points they might win a couple of games because eventually, their D will just start scoring

Unless Holmes transoforms Sanchise into a competent QB they're in deep shit. They gave up their winning offensive formula, and replaced it with an offensive formula more in line with the big guns in the league. The problem is the big guns have good QBs, and the Jets have Sanchez.

The defense holds a team of Mason, Housh, Rice, Boldin and Heap to 10 points and forces 3 turnovers.
Special teams punted 5 times, pinned them inside the 20 4 times, inside the 5 2 times. Gave us average starting position in the positive.
BUT WE FUCKING LOSE?!
Only the Jets. Back to same old fucking Schottenheimer. How much of the blame can even go on Sanchez? You have a physical TE and a tall playmaking WR. FUCKING USE THEM! Tony Richardson got as many play calls as Jerricho Cotchery. No wonder you don't fucking win.
Well the good news is, it was one game and we didn't get murdered. We were 30 yards and a field goal away. But when you dominate 2 out of 3 facets of the game, you shouldn't fucking lose 10-9!!!!

How could you even tell that when he threw 21 times, 6 of those being on that last drive and everything else being to RBs in the flat? The TWO times they let him throw the ball it was a 40 yard bomb to Keller that got called back and a pass to Cotchery that was barely out of bounds. It's the same shit as last year. They let him throw in the playoffs, he was effective. They bottle him up for 3 quarters then expect him to do something, that's what happens.

That's some crazy revisionist history there.
Barely out of bounds is still out of bounds. His receivers stink and couldnt get open, the line couldnt contain Suggs and Ngata, and he has the accuracy of a one-eyed pirate with beer goggles on. In a tight game you dont want Sanchez throwing against a defense that's crazy opportunistic.
You want to be real, then be real. Sanchez had played one good game in two years.

Leon Washington was a small burner. LT is an old workhorse. Any NFL running back is good when "given the space." You got rid of a pro-bowl offensive lineman and brought in a troubled wideout. That's a change in philosophy.

Oh that call on Edwards for roughing the kicker was absolutely one of the worst calls I've ever seen and it put an extra 4 points on the board for the Ravens. Cundiff deserves an Emmy for that. Holmes is an elite player who you got for a throw away pick. Great move. Adding a WR doesn't change the philosophy of the team.
I think the big mistake was letting Faneca go. Sure he couldn't pass block like an elite guard, but you replaced him with someone who cannot run or pass block like an NFL player. The running back shuffle won't work out either IMO. Greene was the worst player on the field, and LT won't last if he has to carry this type of load. He was brought into be the 3rd down back, but it sure looks like he might have to be the feature back. He was one the worst back in football last year, playing in an offense with an elite passing game, so good luck with that.
Rex might say you are sticking with the ground and pound, but more passing plays were called than running plays. Hard Knocks sure gave me the impression that the plan was to let Sanchez shine.
I said 6-10 before the season, and last night did nothing to change that. Your schedule might bail you out and let you save face at .500.

That's all well and good, but the Jets have to take risks to get pressure which leaves the rest of the secondary on their own. Boldin is a good player, but he made more plays down the field last night that he has in the past 2 years. Teams that have WRs with complimentary skill sets are going to be a tough matchup.

There's a difference between PI and holding. I don't think it was either. I think both guys were making plays towards the ball which was uncatchable. That makes it NOT pass interference. If you want to make any call on that play, you call holding which is a whole lot different than giving the Ravens 1st and goal on the 1.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/recap;_ylt=AjJ8Mins_ewLgO_35pI8c.U5nYcB?gid=201009 13020
Neither is sloppy play, an inept offense and an inability by Ryan’s big, bad defense to stop the Ravens on third down...
The Jets were called for a whopping 14 penalties, costing them 125 yards,
I believe 6 of those penalties came on third down, giving the Ravens a first down, 4 of them being 3rd and long.
The Ravens only TD came as a result of guess what? That's right, a penalty. Boring, sloppy, uninspired football was what was showcased in the meadowlands last night. Nothing more, nothing less.

Blaming the refs for that is a terrible excuse.

If I'm Rex I'd put Revis on Welker next week. I bet it doesn't happen though.
If I'm BB and Revis lined up over Moss, I'd run nothing but 0 routes and play straght up 10 on 10 football.
I think it would be crazy to keep revis tied up on welker. Cromartie can't handle moss without committing a penalty here and there. There is a lot more to worry about besides we and randy though. I can't wait to see how they handle this.

Well, I know a lot about football and when someone make a dumbass declarative statement that's incorrect, yeah, I'm gonna call em on it.
FYI, nothing is dumber than the "take away XYZ..." argument.
This.
Refs didnt give them a TD. Dumbass plays by dumbass players did. The Ravens also had to score. Fact.
270 yards against the Jets is just fine. Not great, but fine. You cant have a receiver go over 100 yards and say the offense was poor. That's a dumbass statement.
Yeah, and without LTs runs and three turnovers the Jets get shut out and blah blah blah. You cant take away parts of a game that happened. Penalties are part of football. the Ravens have been on the shit end of many a penalty, but most are their fault. An undisciplined, poorly-coached football team didnt have its shit together and it cost them big time. Fact.
Ok so the jets defense givivg you that many first downs on penalties is good offensive play...ok whatever. Nothing I saw impressed me from the ravens O...looked very ordinary and the QB under achieved as usual...

No, it's not. Rewatch the game. You can't have that many penalties on defense and then call yourself "good". That's just downright dumb.
The Ravens running game is awful and the Jets quarterback threw like a pee-wee second stringer. Flacco looked lost out there most the night, minus one drive. Oh, and five turnovers in one half? Yeah, that's "good" football.
I love how the new excuse for horrible football in the NFL is due to "great" defense. :lol
Good defenses make offenses look bad. It's a fact. Rewatch the game and you'll see there was nowhere for the RBs to go and there were hardly ever any open receivers down field. Those were 2 of the best defenses in the league and it played out exactly how many people expected, a defensive struggle.

If you are going to blitz, which the Jets are, Welker burning you on hot reads is more of a threat than Moss catching the ball 50 yards down the field. The Pats are too smart to get into the Jets trap, and they'll just protect and hit short throws all day. Putting Revis on Welkers makes that a lot harder.
The Pats are a lot harder to solve with their TEs. I'm not sure of those kids are smart enough to be able to pull this off, but I'd line them both up at extra protection, and have the one opposite of the overload release.

So, six penalties that awarded first downs on third down is good defense? That's what you're saying here. I just want to make sure you're reading exactly how crazy you sound. Oh, and Tomlinson averaged 5.6 yds/carry. Yep, that's stifling defense againts the run. Why not just admit that Sanchez sucked and the fact he couldn't complete a pass was the reason the Jets offense struggled so badly.
I believe the Jets had the ball with 1:46 remaining, down 1. Did anyone in the entire universe believe that the Jets could put together a drive with Sanchez at the helm? I seriously doubt it. Look at their last play on offense. The receiver was wide open, Sanchez over lead him with the throw (although slightly), and the reciever didn't have the presence of mind to reach the ball out and grab a first down. I thought I was watching professionals.
It's not really a schock. Both teams are WAY overrated. The Jets will get crushed against NE.

They didn't throw to his side of the field. Bolden torched them for 110. It would be one thing if he kept knocking down passes or something. But he wasnt even involved in the game.
That's all well and good, but the Jets have to take risks to get pressure which leaves the rest of the secondary on their own. Boldin is a good player, but he made more plays down the field last night that he has in the past 2 years. Teams that have WRs with complimentary skill sets are going to be a tough matchup.

Rant about the stadium:
Getting in seems easier, but we had to get to lot D. The people working in the lots were ridiculous, they could not tell us where lot D was and we had to find it ourselves.
Once we get in, we're told to get to our section 201, we had to go up the 3rd level, circle the stadium, and then come back down. Really? You couldn't make a circular walkway on the 2nd level as well? We ended up in my friend's seats in the 100's, so watching the game was cool from down there.
The noise quickly escapes the stadium. The crowd was pretty pumped up early, but it just didn't seem as loud as the old place because of how open this place is.
The corporate people down low pretty much sucks, just like at Yankee stadium. You have to be rich to sit down there, and they are the people least intersted in the game.
The big screens are very cool, nice job there.
There are many concession stands, but I did have to wait on line a couple of times.
Overall, there is no way it was worth the 2 billion dollars they spent on it. They should have just renovated the old place.

I don't get the gripes about new stadiums. Jerry Jones doesn't own every team. Not every stadium is going to be a circus. I think the new Meadowlands is a GREAT football stadium. I have to disagree with you on a few points Tony. I sit 10 rows from the field, albeit in the corner of the endzone. I saw NO corporate assholes there and my section at least was WAY into the game. And I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you probably have to wait in line at the concessions in most stadiums in this country :lol

Yup, I'll be at 6 or 7 out of 8 games this season...unless they absolutely suck, then I will do what I do every year:
After about the 4th home game, I will proclaim that I hate the Jets and they will never win a Superbowl. Toss my jersey into the crowd. Put on my back up jersey - Chad Pennington. Start a We Want Brady chant. Go to the parking lot, sulk while funneling beers. Wake up the next morning telling everyone how much I hate the jets and how I'm "done". Post in this thread ripping the team.
Next home game - decide that I want to tailgate and repeat, so head to the stadium since it is 7 minutes from my house :lol

I don’t think I said the defenses were terrible. The defenses are overrated. The Jets should have given up more points and also scored more points. The Jets aren’t that good and either are the Ravens. At least after week one. Could either team turn it around? Sure. Do I think they will? Nope. Like I said, both may see post season play, but who cares if they really don’t have a shot. I think last year’s Jets run was more of a fluke than them being good.
Good defense or bad defense, Sanchez looked god awful. At least at times Flacco looked like he knew what he was doing. The Jets were a mess on offense. What in the hell was with that check down crap? At a certain point, you have to realize you’re only hurting yourself.

Mighty big words coming from a guy who smack talks within a division that is being led by the fucking Redskins.
18-1
Still stings doesn't it?

Fixed for accuracy.
Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati >>>> New England, New York, Miami.
Pretty easily in fact.
Hell, Tennessee, Houston, Indy >>>> New England, New York, Miami, IMO.
Let's add up points on the board from this past weekend and see what happens.
Unfair assessment? NE played Cincy, Baltimore played NYJ and Pittsburg/Miami played equi-shitty division celler dwellers.
Baltimore + Pitt + Cincy = 10 + 15 + 24 = 49
New England + New York + Miami = 38 + 9 + 15 = 62
Scoreboard, bitches.

Not really, since I can take solace in the fact that Brady has more rings and a higher super bowl winning percentage than the Manning sisters combined. It's fine.

The Ravens and the Pats are about equal. You play that game 10 times they probably split dead even. Both Pittsburgh and Cincy are better than the Jets, and probably better than Miami, but that's subjective.
Of those six teams, I'd rank them:
Bal/NE
Pittsburgh
Miami/Cincy
Jets
Its close, but the North is slightly better.
The ravens and pats are equal??? You beat the jets by one point...imagine if you played a team that actually had an O....I think you are seriously over estimating your win yesterday...

In actual Jet news... we just cut Danny Woodhead which means we now have two open roster spots after moving Jenkins to IR. My guess is either Clowney or Coles and Adalius Thomas (who visited with the Jets today).

Hopefully Coles is back. And damn, Thomas has fallen. I remember when he was the big free agent a few years back.
