Brett should do it. He's supposedly Superman, right?

How do you go into a game without someone that could kick an EP. Knowing and watching the jets over the last 20 years, I guarantee they lose this game by one.

Mistakes were made, but we got the win. Thats all that matters. And now Brady is most likely out. Things are looking very very good. Almost too good to be true.

Brady gone for the year.
Wow, we actually have a shot at this division.
I was REALLY impressed with Lowrie today, he looks like a player.
It was good to see Thomas get it going today too, last year he had no OL to run through.

Any team where the fans SPELL OUT their team's name as the main cheer needs to die in a fire and/or completely suck when up against the NE BACKUP.

Bellichek proved yesterday that you can win with a Chad Pennington dink and dunk offense.
Coles proved he should go to Miami.

oops, you guys looked bad. that was no fun, im not trying to rub it in. But the chargers punted once and they didnt really go for the 3rd down becuase they were up by 3 scores. no defense at all.
i was hoping the Jets could make some noise out east get those fucking patriots a run for their money.
hbktonyb
09-23-2008, 07:10 AM
Same old Jets, year after year.
Can't stop third down
No running game
Terrible D
Bad coaching (that 2-pt conversion play call from the 1-inch line was unacceptable)
Turnovers
No WR
CrashDMB237
09-23-2008, 09:20 AM
D wasn't terrible at all, we just had terrible matchups with our CBs and their WRs. They are big boys. That won't happen every week. But Schottenheimer has to GO. Fucking AWFUL play calling. He's gonna be the death of us.

CrashDMB237
09-28-2008, 06:48 PM
I know our D has been suspect the past two games... but honestly, who shuts down the Chargers and Cardinals D period? Our D isn't amazing obviously, but everything is a little skewed right now because we've been playing offensive powerhouses the past two weeks.
Meanwhile, our offense is fucking picking up! Coles finally got his tongue out of Chad's mouth. TJ has room to run. Brett is starting to click (minus that INT... totally stupid). And the best part about today... Schottenheimer let Brett be Brett when the run game wasn't working.
hbktonyb
09-28-2008, 06:52 PM
^Yeah good points. Brett looked great today. I was at the game and we were pissed when he threw the INT, but then my buddy called me and said he thought he had a free play b/c zona jumped offsides.

This is what you get with Brett Favre. There are going to be at least two more weeks where we say "FUCK FAVRE!" then two seconds later "YES FAVRE IS AWESOME!" and so on and so forth throughout the course of the game. That last throw to Coles was perfectly placed, you can't find too many QBs in the game that can do that, down 3 in the two minute drill.
Either way, that was very scary. I'm hoping that we are just in a slump right now. We need to get out of it QUICK in Buffalo next week.
SoRight24

Leon has been holding this team up for a while now...
hbktonyb
10-26-2008, 10:29 PM
Leon is explosive, on special teams and on offense. Keep giving him the ball.
I don't mind some of the interceptions for Favre...maybe one per game . But you can't make 3 crucial mistakes like he made today. Plus he got lucky on a couple of passes, one in the red zone that should have been int'd.
A performance like that will not beat buffalo, new england, or tennessee...

Wow. Last night was great. I don't have a voice. Whenever you lose your voice and you aren't sick, you know it was a good night. I loved being able to give alllll the Pats fans at the bar the ole F U. Too bad its only the 2nd time in three years I was able to do that :lol
Either way, that was one of the best team efforts I've seen from the Jets in a long long time. We couldn't get a pass rush worth SHIT though, and Lowery couldn't keep up with Gaffney long enough and that's what killed us. Everytime Cassel had more than 3 seconds to throw, Gaffney was open. The run D was even a little spotty, but that has more to do with the Pats o-line I think.
Keller is a BEAST!! Thats why you make that trade. He's a playmaker and when Coles is gone, he is going to be THE target on offense.

"Randy told me to throw a pick. I tried to find him after the game though. I think that was the fastest he ran all night, running off the field at the end. So Randy, wherever you are..."
Yeah I watched the postgame...Favre was pretty funny. He played his best game as a Jet. He was fuckin solid.
Randy Moss sounds just like his head coach right there.
Bingo. Classless as it gets.

We do have a chance. We are great against the run, which Tennessee leans on. Tennessee has a game 4 days later (against the Lions) so they will have to gameplan atleast a bit more lightly for us.
Not saying its a definite win, but we have a shot.
hbktonyb
11-17-2008, 11:31 AM
Reasons we will beat tennessee:
Vodka Collins...not a good QB. Our secondary can guard against him.
Our defense vs. the run: We have Jenkins! He'll knock Henry around the field.
Thomas Jones - If anybody can gain yardage vs. Tenn defense, it is Jones.
Favre - B/c he is Favre.
Leon - Special teams, trick plays, jukes...give him the ball and he will make a play.
Final score - Jets 17, Tennessee 13

11-17-2008, 11:44 AM
Opening line is Jets +6, so the oddsmakers don't see us losing by much. It's going to come down to Favre. He can't make ANY mistakes if we're going to win this game. We can stop their run, they can stop our run. We have to be literally flawless to win this game AND force them into some bad situations.
This may be the homer in me coming out, but I think if there is anyone who can match up against them good enough to get a W on their schedule, it's us.

i think most of the hating is due to the way recent boston fans are... not pointing at you or anyone in specific but recent boston fans seem to be frat boys or younger adults that mouth off to anyone who is not a boston fan. the thing is though that most of these fans are luke warm sports fans that find sporting celtics and patriot attire (with which i have no problem) to be unique. ask any of the celtic fans of today and have them tell you who played PF or SG 5 years ago... ask the same crowd and have them tell you who the offense consisted of before moss and brady... not that any of that is important, but when you wear these clothes and have an attitude like you are unstoppable because you are a pat's fan, it would be nice to know that you should be able to have that pride, but because of the franchise history, and what it took to get there, rather than choosing a winning team to be a fan of.

Curran: Jets' crash throws AFC East into free-for-all
Humbling losses take N.Y. out of driver's seat, open door for N.E., Miami
QUICK LOOK AT WEEK 14
By Tom E. Curran
updated 9:06 p.m. CT, Sun., Dec. 7, 2008
‘Scuse me, but uhhh, didn’t you used to be the Jets?
No, seriously. I saw you two weeks ago. You beat the Titans, remember? In Tennessee?
Nope, I don’t think it was somebody else. Because I watched that game and I said — guys, back me up on this — I said, “That right there, that’s the team to beat in the AFC.”
Maybe I'm mistaken, but it looked like you. Same old, flip-flopper at quarterback playing smart and within himself. Chubby coach.
I know there’s a lot of chubby coaches, but it was your guy, I swear it. And you beat the Titans and then, last week another team that looked just like you lost to Denver. And I said — guys, back me up on this — I said, “That right there, that’s a fluke. A wake-up call.”
But then, same team. Or at least it looked like the same team — you guys — went out on Sunday and lost to the 49ers.
Yes, yes you did. You lost to the 49ers in San Francisco. And now you’re 8-5. I couldn’t make that up. Why would I make that up?
But you say it wasn't you? No joke?
Well then where are the Jets? Because we had an AFC East all sewn up tight right here, and ready to give to them and now they can’t have it.
Why not? Because they’re not the best team in the AFC anymore. And they’re not the best team in the AFC East anymore. Because they – you! – went out and lost to the 49ers while the Patriots, who spent the week hauling people out of nursing homes to play linebacker, beat the Seahawks. And they’re 8-5. What the ... !?
And that’s not all. The Dolphins are 8-5 too. Yeah. They beat the Bills by playing spectacular defence north of the border.
Why am I lying? Because I spelled defense with a “C”? They played the game in Canada, man. Yeah, they beat the Bills at SkyDome, which is now the Rogers Centre.
Whatever. You’re 8-5 and so is the rest of the AFC East, except for the Bills who are 6-8. I know the Bills started 4-0. They’re 6-7. Yes they are. And they are out of it.
Who’s in charge now? The Titans. Yup. Sewed up the AFC South. Them and the Colts are running things, along with the Steelers. Yeah, the Colts are fine. They keep whacking everybody. I know they were 3-4 but they’re now 9-4. Yeah, six straight.
Is there anybody else, you want to know? Yeah, the Ravens are fine. They’re 8-4. Yes, with the Flacco kid, the rookie from Delaware. What do you mean, Favre has shoes older than that kid? I thought you said you weren’t the Jets?
Anyway, you — or whoever and wherever the Jets are — they have bigger things to worry about right now than Joe Flacco’s birth date. The Jets have to play the Bills, then go across the country to play Seattle, then deal with Chad Pennington and the Dolphins in season finale.
Yes it would be a good idea to win those two AFC East games. Because if you — the Jets, I mean — lose to Miami the last week then all three teams atop the AFC East will split with each other.
And you could all be tied for first.
Miami? They have San Francisco, then they’re at K.C., and that finale with the Jets. New England plays the Raiders, then they host the Cardinals. (Yeah, the Cardinals might score 80 on New England.) And then the Patriots play Buffalo (in the United States).
Yeah, well, good talking to you too. And if you see the Jets, do me a favor. Tell them my buddy from New York has some choice words for 'em.
No, that ain’t me talking.
What is with this season?
Consider that the Arizona Cardinals are being fitted with NFC West Champion hats and t-shirts before most of the country has its Christmas lights up. That's just strange.
On a Sunday when opportunities were blown by some teams and others had the paddles put to the chest of their playoff hopes, a quick whiparound of key developments is in order.

What the hell happened to our team since the Tenn. game??

What the hell happened to our team since the Tenn. game??
The team is getting lazy. They don't seem to be playing with a chip on their shoulders anymore. They seem to think "we beat N.E. and Tennesse, so we proved we are a good team" they got the chip back before Buffalo, and you could really see the effort in the first quarter of the Bills-Jets game. However, when they were up 14-3 they seemed to be satisfied again, and started playing like shit.
They need to wake their asses up and stop playing like shit.

Was just sitting in my office, and who comes walking in...Tiki Barber! It was pretty cool. He said the Jet/Miami game will def. be the Sunday night game that week. He also questioned the Jets the same way we do...How do you lose to San Fran after beating Tenn??
He then took a pic w/ me. He is friends w/ a girl that works with me.

I'm rooting for a do-or-die Jets vs. Dolphins game next week. I have no interest in either team, but it would be fun to see.

Man-Genius? Man-Dumbass today. Horrible calls today. Don't go for it on 4th and 2nd in Seattle area. Showing no faith in Feely after he made a 45 yd FG that got called off. And then going for it on 4th and 4 at their own 20, while they still had timeouts and the 2 minute warning. They could've punted it away and stopped them preventing Seattle from getting that last field goal.
Horrible play calling

So what's the deal now?
-Miami gets in with a win (win AFC East)
-Ravens get in with a win (wildcard)
-Patriots get in with a win and either a Baltimore loss (wildcard) or Miami loss (win AFC East)
-Jets get in with a win and a New England loss (win AFC East)
That right?

We've been winning in spite of the Mang-idiot.

Jets must win. Game was flexed to 4:15 pm
They ONLY get in if they win, and either the Pats or Ravens lose. If Pats lose and we win, we get division and 3 seed. Pats win and Ravens lose and we win, we get Wildcard, and are AT New England in first round of playoffs. If Pats lose, Ravens lose, and we win, Miami is in as wildcard, we are in as 3 seed and Miami comes back to New York next week in wildcard weekend.
But we all know what is going to happen. The Pats will win, as always. The Ravens will kill Jax. And the Jets and their fans will be left with one thing. Misery.
