Feel worse about this game this morning than I did all week. Mcfadden and Bush are going to rip us a new asshole. 200 total yards for McFadden isn't that outlandish.

hbktonyb

Not that it matters because this is a chip shot for him, but that's a bad play call. A run takes it to the 2 minute warning.

kingchrisII

The officiating in this game was awful... The jets deserved to lose because they were clearly out played, but the referees clearly smoked before this game because they did a shitty job for both teams.

Anyone watch the post game show on SNY? Ray Lucas is killing them. They give grades, Lucas gave them 3 F's on D, O, and ST.

Then dummy Joe Klecko gives them a B+ in special teams. I know Klecko is a legend but get him off my postgame show.

CrashDMB237

1. Why the hell did we not kick the field goal on 4th? Was there not enough time to get Folk out there or what? At least it extends the game if he can hit it. Missing it on 4th ended the game right then and there. Stupid.

2. Uh, yea, someone please come tell me missing Mangold isn't an excuse. That o-line was fucking miserable all day long. The one upside: Schotty learned how to run Greene outside the tackles! Then promptly stopped in the 2nd half when we needed points the most.

3. McFadden is an absolute beast. I was pretty much dead one with my prediction of 200 total yards and 2 TDs. I really think he's the best back in the league when healthy.

4. Sanchez looked pretty good. A Lot of those misses with Mason and Plax were pure timing mistakes. That's a result of not having a full camp and rushing it together at the end. Damn, what a throw and grab by Sanchez and Plax for that TD. Thing of beauty. Decent of Schotty to even FUCKING REMEMBER WE HAVE HIM!!!

5. Honestly, no bullshit, heading into today's game I was more scared of the Raiders than the Ravens because of the way we match up. I still fully except to be 2-3 by the time we play our next home game unless Mangold can come back healthy.

Well hey, it could be worse, we could be the Eagles...

hbktonyb
10-02-2011, 09:15 AM
Tonight is going to be so tough. But I actually like this match-up a lot more than I liked the Oakland match. I think we'll have a chance in the 4th to win the game.

CrashDMB237
10-02-2011, 09:20 AM
I'll call it right now... Ricky Williams will have a bigger impact tonight than he will in any game the rest of the season. He's a Jet killer, and we can't stop physical runners. I'm really not worried about the air game. Revis will blanket whoever he's on, hopefully Boldin, leaving Cro with Torrey Smith who he can keep up with.

Yeah, it's Because there is no Mangold. Are you people watching a different game? Sanchez is scared and choking. It's not the centers' fault. (yeah, that's plural. how many centers are you going to blame?)

When a pitcher can't hold onto the ball and can't throw strikes, it's not because there's a new catcher. Good God.

Get a grip on reality before you call other people idiots. It's not my fault Sanchez is sucking balls tonight. Why not be mad at him and his idiotic play? Would you rather show how much you don't understand about football? It's your call.

Lastly, FWIW, I am cheering for the Jets. However, in doing so, there mediocrity is more than apparent. Deal with it, fuckface. :)

You clearly don't understand the relationship between a QB and a Center, or a Pitcher and a Catcher. Why do you think some pitchers have their own catchers, and don't do as well when there is a backup in.

As for centers, Nick Mangold is one of the best in the league...fact. Great blocker, and has a chemistry with Sanchez. He's never missed a game other than the last 2 weeks. He is all that Sanchez, a 3rd year QB, knows. So, yes, some of Sanchez's problems are the lack of Mangold in the lineup.

Alright, this is getting absurd. Now:

-LT
-Derrick Mason
-Sanchez
-Holmes
-David Clowney
-Opposing players from the Raiders

Have all called our offense predictable. Mason didn't directly, but he went off in the locker room last night and said "we have cracks, nobody wants to identify where it is, but we have one." Then the fuck is Schotty going to get fired?!

How can you compare him to Matt Leinart when Sanchez hasn't even gotten an opportunity to work in an opened up offense? Leinart had all the chances in the world with Fitz and Boldin. You know, when he actually PLAYED that is.

Edit: Again, I don't really know how you can say if a new OC comes in Sanchez will still suck. Look at how he's produced when we play his style of hurry up, open it up offense. It won us games last year and put us one half away from the Superbowl two years in a row.

Why do people think that playcalling was the problem last night? Even when Sanchez wasn't getting pressured, he was terrified. He airmailed a dozen passes last night, especially late when the Ravens had backed off into a four-man rush.

After the first half the line gave Sanchez plenty of time to throw. He couldn't connect. The INT he threw was horrific. Weak throw, bad decision, utter disaster on his part.

Mark Sanchez cannot win games against good defenses without a rushing attack to help him out. He can't take over. He's been terrible against Baltimore twice. The Steelers fucked him up. He's not thee problem, but he's a problem.

When Sanchez gets blindsided three times in 3 possessions for scores or what led to scores, he probably started thinking "I have to get rid of this thing" and I'd rather it be airmailing balls than getting hit and fumbling. He was also hit on the INT he threw. I'm sure it would have sailed right out of bounds had he gotten his full arm behind it, but it's not like Holmes was wide open either where he could make a routine throw. No matter how you look at it, Sanchez was bad last night, but I can't even put 50% of it on him.

And blaming playcalling has a whole lot more to do with other things than Sanchez. Why are we running up the middle behind our backup center? Why do we run outside ONCE all night, when the one time we did it got us our second biggest running gain of the night? Why are there no screens being set up when the Ravens are loading up the middle? Schottenheimer just can't adjust, and it's not just Jet fans saying it. His own players, the guys that are supposed to have the most faith in him are saying it.

Well the Ravens defense wouldn't be considered one of the best in the league if a QB could just change a play call and poof, the pass rush doesn't matter anymore. But to answer your question, just this year he was given the audible option, and I think even that is limited. Again, I just don't get it. We took what he did so well in college and tossed it out the window.

Up until this year, he has. I don't know what the restrictions are this year, but there are restrictions. After the play in the preseason that got Plax his first TD, the announcers were talking about it because Sanchez changed the play at the line. I seriously think the only time he can change a play is when he sees either Holmes or Plax being single covered.

It's a different league with a different system. I get that on some level, football is still football, but it doesn't appear that decision making is one of Sanchez's strengths. Having him make snap reads at the line would probably do more harm than good.

Plus we are just so predictable. 2nd and 1...run up the middle...stuffed. How about a play action, a rush to the outside? The best play call yesterday was the FB run with Terminator as holmes was faking the end around. At least it was something different and caught the Ravens off-guard.

I am surprised that the Jets didnt try more play action. Maybe they thought it would take too long to develop under that pass rush, but they should have tried. Screens, too. The Ravens should have run a ton of screens, actually.

I will say that it's extremely hard to run outside on the Ravens. Suggs takes away one side, and their linebackers move very well laterally. I don't know that the middle is any better, but busting it outside generally results in a lot of losses against that team.

10-03-2011, 11:38 AM

Not too sure what Webb has to do with anything. Oh you're just trying to bring up something irrelevant because your original point sucks? I thought that was a Pats thing. Either way, I really don't care what Jason Cole has to say considering before last year he said Orton was a career backup at best then Orton went on to throw for almost 3000 yards, over 20 TDs and under 10 picks. Yeah I thought it was very close. I didn't think there was enough evidence to overturn it.

This team is a joke. When the offense as 7 3 and outs against the Pats, it's very tough to beat them.

I am so thankful that the Jets winning percentage against the Pats since Rex Ryan became coach of the Jets is .600

What are you thankful for now??

Nothing much to be thankful for this football season, I will just remain happy that the Yankees were eliminated from the playoffs for now...

I will be so mad if the Bills win the East so as much as it pains me to say this... At least they arent in first place alone.

Spent the whole day moving two apartments worth of shit into one condo, so by the time I got to sit down and watch this game I felt like dying to begin with. I'm almost happier they didn't win because there's no way I would have been able to enjoy it :lol

Either way, it was a real good, entertaining game. Nice to see Sanchez throw a pass of more than 8 yards. I like Kerley a lot, take a seat Mason. And Joe McKnight needs to see the ball at least 5 times a game. Look at the Falcons last night: they have their workhorse in Turner, their pass catching threat in Snelling (both can catch) and their change of pace guy in Rodgers. Why can't we copy that exact mold? Again, why the hell are we not running screens for LT against an old, slow defense? Yesterday was definitely a step up, but it still wasn't good. After yesterday, I come away feeling even more like it's Schotty's fault more than it is Sanchez.

We aint goin anywhere this year. We got worse in the offseason and we haven't done anything to address the problems that have come up in the first 5 weeks. 9-7 is the best possible scenario at this point, and that's not the playoffs. Still battle it out as best we can this season, come up short, draft a pass rusher in the mid first round, some o-line depth in the 2nd round, can Schotty. THAT'S the best possible scenario.

The rest of the schedule isn't that tough, but looking at the AFC, it may take 11 wins to make it. I can't see us getting to 11 wins, because you know we are going to lose at least 2 of the ones we should win. I think we should beat: Dolphins, Chargers, Bills, Broncos, Redskins, Chiefs, Giants, Dolphins. Probably lose to Pats. Toss up at Bills and at Philly. If we lose those 3, we are 10-6. I guess 11 wins is possible.

So, its the OCs fault that sanchrz had under 100 yards passing midway through the fourth quarter?
