hahah, well if Sanchez can keep the INTs to a minimum and get a TD pass in, or at least 200 yards. good chance indeed.
Cincy doesnt score a lot of points so. we shall see. should be good.

12-28-2009, 09:36 AM
So basically if NE wins, Cinci can't be a 3 seed. I wonder if Cinci changes their strategy at all because if NE wins, and Cinci loses, they have to play the Jets again the following week in Cinci...
rickyh24

I'm happy with either seed. The Pats are either sending the Broncos or the Jets home packing. Works for me.

From NY Daily Pages:
Jets fans planning a farewell toast to Giants Stadium can lift their beers in the parking lot - just not in their seats.
The last regular-season game ever inside the 33-year-old stadium is an alcohol-free event, with no beer sales at all Sunday night, Jets officials announced.
Long-suffering fans wondered what the team hoped to accomplish with the beer ban.
"I don't think it makes a heckuva lot of sense," said George Esposito, 49, a die-hard Jets fan. "Everyone's already drinking in the parking lot.
"Maybe security should do their job instead of penalizing 70,000 people."
Jets fan John Kuefner, 29, said the ban was just plain wrong.
"Football and alcohol go together like peanut butter and jelly," the Long Island contractor said Thursday in Penn Station.
That said, he admitted there was some cause for the ban. "Jets fans have proven themselves very unclassy."
He's got a point. The last game of the Jets' 2005 season was declared alcohol-free after a pair of stabbings in a stadium men's room.
And beer sales were banned after halftime beginning in 1989, the season after Jets fans - during a one-sided "Monday Night Football" loss to the Bills - starting setting fires in the stands.
hbktonyb
01-01-2010, 08:25 AM
We set fires to the stand every game...we suffer for our Jets, and the stadium must pay

Simple solution: sit him this week! :thumbsup
Honestly though, wouldn't it be in the Bengals best interest to lose this game? If they win they have to play the Ravens who are playoff tested already. If they lose, they get the worse team on the road against a rookie QB who they've already seen just a week before. The Jets are fighting for their season, they are going to play full out, they literally can't hide a single part of their gameplan. The Bengals are going to see it all tonight then if they lose, they'd have a week to study tape and pretty much figure out the Jets.

Well if there's one thing Rex needs to learn about being a head coach its to NOT take the media bait. What the hell is he supposed to say? "You know what, we have no shot really, but it'll be fun to try!"

the jets are being ripped by the media like i have never seen a team ripped before. it is almost unfair the way the media has come out and made it a point to verbally beat down the jets. rex is coming out and standing behind his team by saying he feels his team has a shot, not to second guess the jets. i don't mind a coach getting behind his team after nearly the entire sports anchor nation has taken shots at the jets team. on the front page of espn.com yesterday, their was a large drawing of what you would assume were politicians in a room plotting a conspiracy. the conspiracy was how to get the jets into the playoffs and the title, "conspiracy 101, we can't explain how the jets made the playoffs...". Foxsports was the worst with their end of the year evaluation of the jets, ranking them 18th. 18th?? they said the jets victory over the bengals was only due to the fact that the starters weren't in... not only were the starters in, but they were being manhandled before they were taken out.
of course talk is cheap and they have to go and prove it on the field. I have been saying this all season against the grain, i think the jets are a legitimate team and are a tough team to beat when playing to their capabilities. right now they have a chance to prove that.
either way, the future looks bright.

You never know what will happen, all I know, as a season ticket holding diehard, is that this year we are a mediocre 7-7 team, and our last real game we played we lost at home 10-7...to Hotlanta.
Hopefully the Jets miraculously make a run in the playoffs, but as always, I'm not expecting anything at all.

he played every down in the first 2 quarters, and at least one drive into the 3rd. say what you will... or believe, whatever it is. you and a lot of others haven't given this team a chance all season. so we will have to wait and see, as we have done all year.

The Jets showed that they deserved their spot in the playoffs, IMO. It was a very well played game by the whole team. Yes, the defense gave up a lot of yardage on the ground but they shut down the pass despite Revis getting called for a couple of chintzy penalties. Mark Sanchez really looked like a future franchise QB in this game. His arm is definitely strong, he was very accurate, and was really composed (of course that's easy when you have an o-line that good).

Yeah, because Sanchez's 182 yards passing and a touchdown pass, coupled with Greene's 135 yards rushing were gifts.
Look, there's no reason why the Jets should have beat the Colts, we get it. But to say they've been "gifted" three games in a row is ridiculous, and I think the Jets proved a lot about their future in these past few games.

youre a gary, he was 12/15, had two clear drops from keller off his chest and edwards in the endzone. He played great, dont need to throw for 300 yards when you run the ball 36 times for 170 and manage the clock.

All Sanchez really has to do for us is not lose the game...if he plays like that, we have a shot to keep it close. Was a huge stepping stone to win with Sanchez as a rookie...young team that will only get better.
Defense played good enough...made big stops when they needed to.
Greene was unreal yesterday.
I get on the coordinator all the time, but he called a great game yesterday.
Sanchez was right on target. His best pass of the day was dropped by Braylon...speaking of..

To me, whether we play San Diego or Indy, it didn't really matter. Actually glad we are playing the Chargers. I know they won 11 straight, but I'll pick to play Rivers over Manning any day. With Revis island shutting down Jackson, we have to figure out a way to get to Rivers, our blitzing failed miserably last night.

Congrats to Jets fans for earning some real bragging rights over the Pats for the first time in a very very long time. Good luck against the Chargers next week.

There is nothing to brag about unless your favorite team wins it all anyways. There is only one winner.

this game is close at halftime. but ultimately sanchez's turnovers will be too much to overcome in the 2nd half. i think you guys are built for the future for sure. NE better get their asses in gear or this becomes the jets division.
SD wins 35-20

Jets are moving on and the Pats are going home.
Life doesn't get much better.
I'm worried about San Diego next week, but anything can happen. Just excited we got a playoff win under our belts.
