Has the new baritone 12 string been used yet, and if so on which song? Also, I dont understand, the baritone electric, it's just a lower tuned electric guitar? I dont know much about guitars, thanks.

Yes, he uses a 12 string Veillette Gryphon 12-string guitar, for 'The Idea of You'.

Yes, hes Bari electric is a lower tuned electric guitar. :)

I need to correct myself. its not a Baritone BUT a soprano Veillette Gryphon 12-string guitar, sorry about that.

I think he used the Veillette baritone on shotgun, i dont think its the gryphon tuning.

ok, so a baritone is a lowered tuned guitar? Also, is this why some people say daves voice is baritone? Dont flame for that i saw it in an interview.

Baritone is lower tuned.

Dave doesn't play a 12-string Baritone. Only 12-string acoustic (standard tune) and the soprano 12-string.

It's mentioned on his equipment page on the website, so I figured it was used, guess not though.

What Mattinbeloit said is correct. He has both a Sop and Bari 12 string Veillette guitars.

one should also know his baritone guitar is also in 28" scale length, making it more bass/guitar than a true guitar. this means a lot if you play a true electric because the intonation is off and you WILL fuck up if you try and play stuff on this without practice.

I'm just curious who said Dave was a baritone (vocally)? My assessment would be basically tenor with a better than average range.

Dave has also been known to play the 12 string tuned to Drop - D

Dave's a tenor. And a baritone isn't just tuned lower, it's a completely different guitar.
