Sugar Will ..anyone give me a few tips?

Just need a few tips from pepole with this Sugar will tune.

Lately I've been listening to it loads and really lovin the tune and would love to play it proper nice. I've been playing it for a few days now and recorded this today, it's real short, but just to give you the jist of how I play it...

You've got it!

The only thing I noticed that you messed up was when you're doing the chorus riff, it gets done twice, which is correct. But between the two you add one extra beat. You should count seven beats for each different chord, if that makes sense. On the last chord of the first time through the chorus you hit it eight times.

Other than that, just keep practicing and it'll get smoother.

Yeah, just practice more, and you will own it.

Sugar is now my bitch. I remember first learning it, and having to stop again and again because my pinky was crying. I think it was talking to me: "why are you doing this to me!!!! :lorraine" ..... and I said ..... "It's for your own good pinky, you will be stronger and I'll be able to use you more for other songs too."


:lol I just made up a conversation I had with my pinky. :o

tripngrey - haha yeh my pinky is crying as been playing it for hourssss the past few days, first time touching the chords through once i was like ahhhhhhrfhgdfhfook :lorraine but yeh my pinky can groove now yay

Yeah, I forgot to add to the whole 7 counts deal.

When I was in the process of learning it (which probably was June 19,2004 to be exact because I attened 6/18 Tweeter the night before, and left the venue saying I NEED to learn how to play that ASAP) ....so yeah when I first tried playing it I would just hum the beat by going...1-2-3-4-5-6-7, etc. etc. etc. It helps as ridiculous as it may sound.

The end jam is gravy. You just mess around with Am. If you listen to it, you can figure out what Dave is doing in no time. If I wasn't lazy I'd tab it out, and if you still can't figure it out after listening head over and search at dmbtabs. God knows there is a billion threads on the 2004 songs.
