If anyone knows how to play like this fucking genious please help. i've been trying to learn for a week straight and i can't even beguin to shed light on it. how do you make these hamonics and hammer on?

He and his lead guitarist Ehren Ebbage taught me.
It's a technique called tapping, and there are a few things to know.
First, all of his songwriting is in DAGDAD tuning. Learn it. Love it.
You'll notice that alot of his single hand tapping on the higher strings involves slides. You won't get much out of the guitar playing single notes on the higher strings without amplification, so this is a solution.
Harmonics can easily be done with one hand. Start with your pointer finger, and slam all 6 strings simultaneously with the side of your finger. That will teach you the type of smack necessary to get a harmonic out of a tap. It's a sort of snapping motion.
Other than that, it's all about finger strength, tap location (pretty much the same as where you'd normally fret), coordination, knowledge of theory, and guitar setup (lower action helps).
The worst thing you could do is try to play like him when the techniques are beyond you, you'll create bad habits that will do more harm than good. If theres anyone you should talk to, its Batsone on the dmbtabs.com boards.
