Hey guys. Did a search on here, and have searched DMBtabs before... Was wondering if there was a chorded version of Last Stop - a sort of simplified version - for just standard tuned acoustic? Was thinking it'd be cool to play a chilled out version that explodes into a more rock out type. Or can anyone point me in a "chord-sheet" direction? Thanks!

The best way to play it is just those power chords like Dave does.
If you don't want to retune, then just play 1 step down from the tab.
If you do that, the Reprise won't sound right, though.

This is one of the few songs in the DMB catalog that sounds better with the full band than accoustic(based off personal experience).

This whole song is basically just playing octaves through almost the whole thing.

If you want it to be more chill, just don't strum as hard.

I do too, at least the older stuff. Anything after 2000 is sketchy about that. That's what I feel is lacking from the new stuff - the fact that it stands alone on acoustic guitar.

come on though, if you look at a bunch of older stuff, sure it sounds good on the acoustic, but the band makes it what it is. dave solo shows are cool, but i can barely listen to them because after a couple songs i start missing the drums and horns and bass and everything.

Definitely. I'll take a Dave & Tim show over the band any day. As an acoustic guitar player, I am naturally driven more to that sound than the sound of acoustic guitar drowned out by a band. I'm not saying I don't like the band but overall I prefer the acoustic sound. There are probably 5-6 songs I like better with the band.

I think some of the stuff after 2000 sounds great on acoustic. Fool To Think, What You Are, Grey Street, Raven, Busted Stuff all sound awesome acoustic. Some of my favorite DVD's are from the 2003 D&T tour. Even some songs that suck normally sound decent acoustic like Angel, I did it and the Space Between. I don't know if you would count Some Devil in that statement but some of those hold up as well.

I'm the complete opposite. I'll take Tim's fills over the band anyday. On top of that, Dave's guitar playing often get's drowned out by the band. I feel Dave's singing and passion peak when it's just him and Tim. Plus it's a lot more intimate. To each his own. :)

I came up with an outro to this song that's in standard tuning. It's in the thread called Last Stop outro. Let me know if anyone thinks it sounds ok, or if it is better to just tune down a half step.
