Well i got a Question. How do i record myself playing guitar, and then record myself singing on a completely different recording, and then put the two together. This would really help me out, thanks, lemme kno if i made the Q confusing.

you will just have to select "import audio." Then have it as the second track on the recording. Next you can line it up to however you want it to fit. There is a feature that allows you to slide the entire track at once....i cant think of it.......maybe time shift?

heres my question.........
I am recording vocals and guitar at the same time through my two seperate mic jacks in my computer. Im struggling to get the volume correct however. Either the guitar is too strong or the vocals are too strong. Then if i turn up the mic volume in the upper right hand corner, i get a horrible humming/buzzing noise. Whats a guy to do?

also, you can record your vocals seperately while still in the same project

just make a new track and record on the seperate track. each new track allows you to adjust volume, effects, etc. then there is a mix down option if i remember (its been like 3 years since ive used it)

how do i get rid of that buzzing sound over my lyrics/guitar? I know you can use the noise removal feature but that tends to distort the sound.

you can run a filter as you record (best way) or select the beginning noise (at least .2 seconds) and run the noise removal, other than that get better eqipment

dont mean to hijack your thread jd, i've also got an audacity question...
i'm recording with a samson co1u directly to my computer and my recordings (of acoustic guitar, no amp) keep comin through with a "shhh" sound in the background. also, when i adjust the volume to be higher so i can export an mp3 that you can hear, the "shhh" sound just gets louder...is there any way for me to eliminate this noise without compromising having a clean recording of my guitar? what settings would i need to change for this? thanks

I have a question about the "line in" on my computer. As of now, ive just been plugging my guitar into the mic input. Can i plug my guitar into the "line in"?

yes, its actually better. you may need to switch the recording preference in the audio options in windows though in order to pick it up
