Im struggling to write good lyrics.......even solid lyrics....need help

could you give us more insight into the problem so we can give better, more specific advice?

when i write lyrics, i find i'm sometimes too self conscious about how good they are and what other ppl will think. sit back and think if that's your problem...are you really just being too critical?

sometimes you just gotta let your pen write what you're thinking.

it doesn't have to be perfect the first time on paper.
you can always go back and revise later, so just get your main ideas written down and relax as much as you can. have fun with it.

im having a problem making lyrics mean more i guess. you might say they tend to be cliche

This is a good thread everyone should share on how to write songs because it is hard. Write what u want and who cares what ppl think, if u like em then thats all that matters becasue they mean something to you. The main thing is to relax alot u cant be tense just write what u r feeling, and like stratocoustic05 said, have fun with it.
