If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. Enjoy your bye week @ 1-2.

Interesting coming from a fan of the team whose offseason motto was "If Carson Palmer hadn't gotten hurt, we would've won the Super Bowl". Enjoy those SI Steelers Super Bowl commercials.

What did I make up? Those stats are from ESPN.com... go check them yourself. Did you even watch the game? The Steelers dominated for the most part and lost mainly because they committed turnovers at the worst possible times (while attempting to go up 14-0 from the four yard line in the 1st quarter, while running down the clock in the 4th quarter with the lead (twice), and while trying to finish off a game tying drive in the 4th quarter). I'd say those are pretty crucial turnovers. I never said the Bengals won ONLY because of turnovers... you were putting words in my mouth there. If the Steelers didn't commit those turnovers, they would have won. It's difficult to argue with that if you actually watched the game.

The turnovers definately helped Cincy, but to say Pittsburgh would have def won if they didn't commit them is stupid and there's no way to know for sure.

And I said don't make up stuff, cause I ddin't read all of your false stats cause right when I read your little passing stats I KNEW they were made up cause Palmer had 193 yds, and Ben had 208 yds passing. Your numbers for BOTH QBs were completely wrong.

Look at the "Team Stat Comparison" on the right side of the screen. When you go to the bottom of the screen, the numbers you posted are correct. It wasn't I who was wrong, it was ESPN.

Edit: All I can think of is that the individual player passing stats are their gross yardage without taking sacks into account.

Man, we were lucky to get out of there with a win. First win for the Bears at the Dome in 5 years.

Grossman really regained his composure after that boneheaded INT. Saddled up and delivered the 24 yard TD for the win. I don't know what Childress was thinking running a draw on 3rd and 7 with a minute left though.

That entire game was penalty power until the 4th. Plus had pressure on Grossman almost everytime he dropped back. We'll see what happens next week in Chicago against Seattle. They look pretty f'ing good right now.

yeah. I didn't like the 4th down call either. I don't so much mind the 3rd down call...it's 4 down territory. Maybe you catch the Bears in a deep zone and pick up 5-10. They did. I didn't like the 4th down call though. But I think the Vikes D is pretty good. They just need to get that O going.

Could be...But that doesn't count towards an amount of passing yards a player has. Palmer will have 193 or whatever it was towards his passing stats, not 150 or whatever ESPN said.

Ohw ell though, I'm done in here for a little bit today, I don't like being talked down to.

Bleh... it really doesn't matter why they lost. The fact is we're 1-2 heading into a bye week, and once again, we're facing an uphill climb to get into the playoffs. If I'm Cowher, I tell them to forget everything that's happened to this point and look at the game against the Chiefs in two weeks as a fresh start. As long as they can start winning again, everything else will take care of itself.

WROOOOOOOOOOONG! In college, sacks count against rushing totals... in the NFL, they count against passing totals. I don't like the rule either, but that's how it is.

Rodney Harrison does not start fights with people before the games start, and he doesn't publicly call players out saying he's gonna beat them down in the game. Again you are wrong.

He talks shit ON THE FIELD, during the game, and none of us know what he really says, it's speculation. He doesn't say he's gonna dominate a certain player or whatever, and cal them out like Porter does.

So when is Chad going to get some respect. Did ANYONE think he'd come back this strong? He's thrown one INT in three games and that was on a chuck and pray at the end of a game. I know our two wins are against the Bills and Titans, but the Bills have a pretty decent defense and, well, obviously, the Patriots are the best team in the whole world and Chad put up 300+ on them and nearly led us to a ridiculous comeback victory.

its tough to win games when you get RIDICULOUS flags thrown on you 28 times a game by the same awful officiating crew who called the AFC playoffs game last year between the Pats and Denver as well.

I'm so pissed right now I can't believe it.

I know someone immature will rub it in and say I'm blaming it on the calls, so save it.

Because the current Bills team sucks, I'm going to keep lamenting on the past. I believe it was the same year as the "Homerun Throw-forward" in Nashville. But what I will bring up is a game in Foxboro, Bills vs. Patriots, back when that douchebag Pete Carroll was still coaching them. That officiating crew on New England's final drive down the field, they blew two straight calls. One was a ball caught by Jefferson (I think that was the name of the Pats WR), and then a BS pass interference call on a hail mary to the endzone on the Bills' Thomas Smith. Time expired, but the game can't end on a defensive penalty, so there was another play. The Bills got screwed twice in a row, and then (I think it was Bledsoe then) found a wide open Ben Coates for the winning score with no time left. So of course the Bills walked off the field because it was such bullshit, and I have the indelible image in my head of that dbag Carroll jumping up and down on the sidelines, a huge smile on his face, signaling for his kicker to go for two since there was no defense. What a shithead. Sorry again for my rant....

Part of me is leaning toward Favre right now. What I've gotten out of the last two weeks is when his playmakers are of a similar level to the defense he's facing, Favre can still put up numbers with the best of them. The Rams fit into this league. During Week 1, da Bears just had so much speed on defense and so many playmakers that Favre really had to press and force some throws in hopes of keeping Green Bay in the game. It's seemed the past couple of years when he makes one mistake against this type of defense, that mistake easily snowballs into 5 or 6.

I don't know if I could pull the trigger to start Favre over Bulger at this point, but I think I'd try talking myself into it.

Its different with NY fans, because we win. And when we LOSE, we admit we deserved to lose and we get on our teams. In Boston, its everyone else's fault. Either the refs, injuries, etc.

Well, to be fair, 9 times out of 10 there is good reason for that. No, the Pats didn't play too well last night, but it didn't help that the refs pretty much gift wrapped the Denver win for them. How the HELL does Tom Brady throw for more than 300 yards and they don't win? There were so many offensive pass interference calls against the Pats it was ridiculous. If I'm going for the ball and your stupid ass gets in the way and I end up trampling you, that's your stupid Denver fault.

Plus, it doesn't help that last years playoff game v. denver with the Pats was completely handed to Denver in every way. Champ Bailey must have had some kind of blackmale material on the refs. Don't Believe me?

Jesus Christ, Katie, I'm so sick of your pathetic whining. You are exactly the Boston fan that makes people sick, myself included.

The Pats lost. It's that simple. They don't have a deep threat, so Denver could stuff 8 in the box and kill the run. Brady, who has been pathetic all season, was only able to complete 5-7 yard passes, which Denver willingly conceded. Denver had a great game plan, followed it to perfection, and beat the Patriots. It's that simple.

There's a good argument for the playoff game, but that wasn't last night and has no bearing on last night. The Pats lost and were never a threat. They don't have the personnel they need. If you want to get pissed at somebody, get pissed at Kraft or Bellicheck for thinking their "Get more, pay less" was going to work forever. Thanks to their penny pinching, this team has the lowest cap number in the NFL (or close to it), no receivers, an unproven kicker that can't get the ball up, and an aging defense.

Oh yeah, it's true (about the losing with 300+ yards), but it's just weird, cuz usually when Tommy has a lot of throwing yards, they usually win.

I mean, I"m not that torn up about the Pats losing, it's not a HUGE deal to me. you live in CT, one of the five non-legit states in New England, so I'd say that if you think Boston sucks, then I'll take that as a compliment so thanks :)

Sure it matters. I know people who are Yankees/Pats fans. They are DICKS. Probably due to the Yankees fanage pouring over into the Pats fanage

Im sorry, but who the fuck are you and who the fuck do you THINK you are? I make no more random comments around here than anyone else, so please feel free to take your head out of your ass and back off. My comments don't make New England fans look bad. Why is it that when a Pats fan is passionate about their team they are considered dicks, but if a Bengals fan or Steelers fan or Indy fan is the same way, they are just passionate? Jesus christ. I'm not going to bite my tongue and not say what I think just because I might come off as an asshole. In case you haven't noticed, I say what I want no matter what the topic is, so get off your high horse and stop thinking you are god's gift to telling me when to shut my mouth.

Unfortunately, I have to be a Patsies fan this weekend when they play the Bengals. Speaking of the Bengals, here's a quote from Carson Palmer following yesterday's game that I thought was funny:

"I think we are a classy team."

Classy team??? SIX Bengals have been arrested in the past year (Odell Thurman was arrested this morning for a DUI, while he's in the middle of serving a 4 game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy), including Chris Henry who has been arrested FOUR TIMES since January, yet received ZERO PUNISHMENT from the team. Yeah, that's class right there. I may hate the Patriots, but I consider them to be a classy team. The Bengals, on the other hand, are this decade's version of the early 90's Cowboys (without the Super Bowl rings of course).

I've completely stopped paying attention to what analysts have to say for reasons such as this. NOBODY seems to know what they're talking about, and they basically change their mind from week to week. What amazes me is how many of these "experts" judge teams based on their records and stats without paying any attention to who they've played. Rex Grossman is an excellent example.

I'm so disappointed I missed this argument a few pages back, and while I thought about not posting about it, I think it's necessary.

I know exactly what trippin and the rest of you were talking about with that horrible arrogance about New England and their sports teams. I was born and raised in Albany, NY, a mere 40 miles from MA. So I know plenty about all the bitching and moaning that reeks from the people to Albany's east. I always felt like whenever I got on the east side of the Bershire mountains, I had to hold my breath. These Boston fans are very arrogant, and all think they know what's best for the team. New York fans have very large egos, maybe that comes from the (relatively speaking) consistent winner the city has had.

And don't worry, I'm an NBA historian, so to speak. I know that Bill Russell is the 2nd-greatest player ever to play in the NBA (save for MJ, but better than his bigtime rival Wilt Chaimberlain). I also know the Celtics of the 60s was a complete dynasty. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Bird-McHale-Parish teams of the 80s. But that doesn't change the fans of Boston. Hell, Bill Russell hated playing in Boston.

Sorry for the rant, but I must agree with the arrogance of New England....
