Grow up.
The Broncos had that game handed to them by the refs. You didn't watch the game, your opinion is 100% moot..
Stop being a child and trying to start crap.
If you don't think your post was doing the exact same thing I've got a news flash for you Walter Cronkite, it was.
Oh, and when I read the opinion of a Pats fan who comes into the thread and gives good detail of why they didn't deserve to win last night versus the opinion of someone I'm not sure has ever spoken negatively of a team he likes, I know which I'll learn toward believing.
I also like how two very impressive by Atlanta means nothing to you, but one loss is huge.

Last season started similarly to this year...
Panthers are the better team whether you wanna believe it or not.
Right now, no. Down the road, there's a good possibility it ends up so.

And also to you people who think Vick is so good, how'd he do tonight? :lol
What's his completion percentage on the season, 40%?
Obviously, although you're an Atlanta boy now, don't support their teams. I hear you bro, I don't like the Bengals much either even though I live here now. On another note: What was the crowd yelling in the background of Monday Night Countdown and during postgame? I think I hear, "Who dey, Who dey, Who dey think gon' beat them Saints?" Is that right? A lof of folks from Cincinnati will be awfully pissed....

Did I ever say the wors HUGE?
Don't think I did, I just said I love that they lost, and they aren't as good as some of you think.
I am someone who bases my opinion of teams on how they really are, not based on a couple games.
Don't be condescending either. And again, you didn't watch the game, therefor you don't have an opinion that matters. If you have nothing good to say to me, and are just looking to start things with me all the time, just shutup, cause I don't care about anything you have to say if that's the case.

We do get along man. No need to take everything so personal. I don't take anything you say personal. A little good-natured ribbing is good, isnt it? If everyone needs to see something to form an opinion on it then we are all way more uninformed than society views us as. I have no problem basing an opinion on views of journalists I respect and objective views from fans of a team.
No, you didn't say huge, but can you understand how it seems blatently clear one would think the loss is huge compared to two good wings for them when you call the Falcons worthless.

Jesus Christ, Katie, I'm so sick of your pathetic whining. You are exactly the Boston fan that makes people sick, myself included.
The Pats lost. It's that simple. They don't have a deep threat, so Denver could stuff 8 in the box and kill the run. Brady, who has been pathetic all season, was only able to complete 5-7 yard passes, which Denver willingly conceded. Denver had a great game plan, followed it to perfection, and beat the Patriots. It's that simple.
There's a good argument for the playoff game, but that wasn't last night and has no bearing on last night. The Pats lost and were never a threat. They don't have the personnel they need. If you want to get pissed at somebody, get pissed at Kraft or Bellicheck for thinking their "Get more, pay less" was going to work forever. Thanks to their penny pinching, this team has the lowest cap number in the NFL (or close to it), no receivers, an unproven kicker that can't get the ball up, and an aging defense.
If you're going to continue to give New England-area fans a bad name, do it somewhere else. Glossy-eyed fanboys and fangirls disgust me.
Truth pwn.

Tonight was very touching and it was great to see the Saints on all cylinders, but they aren't close to one of the five best teams in football. Their defense and special teams are not even in the same league as the way the played tonight.

I easily would. The only advantage the Saints have over Seattle right now is at RB. And Maurice Morris is no slouch as a backup. He's averaging 4.5 YPC throughout his career.
And if your criteria for making the top 5 is still being undefeated, the Bolts are much better.

1) Bears (D4, O7) what a suprise, you know the D, but OFFENSE! Simply put, i think this team will go very far.
2) Ravens (D2, O22) there D is just too good, offense could be their downfall. the upcomging game against a great defense in the chargers will test them.
3) Bengels (D16, 17) they win, plain and simple. i dont see how they dont win at least 13.
4) Chargers (D1, O3) count in the fact that they played the raiders and the titans if you will, but out scoring your oponent in the NFL 67-7 is still, well AMAZING! true test will be the ravens, if they win, they are for real.
5) Colts (D21, O6) we know the offense, the D isnt great but look at the teams they have played so far, Giants and Jags. although giving up 24 to houston is a no no.
simply put, no NFC will win the super bowl. these 5 teams are all too good.

Ravens almost lost to the Browns though. I say the Colts are still #1 in my book. What happened to all that Jacksonville hype? 5 of the 8 ESPN experts picked Indy to lose. Indy won again, just business as usual, though it was evident Jax has improved. If the Bears convincingly beat Seattle next week, then I will give them the nod, but not until then.

Jax will beat Indy at home later in the season, I'll bet on that. They are GOOD and that D is pretty freakin' good, but not good enough to beat Peyton in the dome. It will be a different story up there in Jax.

As long as Hasselbeck has Jackson, Engram, Branch, and Burlson to throw to, the Hawks will be fine. Mo Morris can get it done in the running game well enough. Plus their D is solid this year. Seattle's my #1.

Not saying the Colts have a top-notch defense but the defense is pretty banged up right now, most notably Simon (obviously still no excuse for the pathetic tackling so far in the season)
I dont know how you can call Jax the better team considering they have lost the past ...who knows how many games to the colts and the way they lost the last game to the Colts. Colts are more talented and has a mental/psychological edge over the Jags (similar to how NE had a mental edge of the Colts few years back) How do you judge who is a better team, personally I judge with wins and losses.
Jags absolutely dominated the Colts in the first half and the score was still tied. (if it wasn't for the no-calls on Marvin, Indy would have been ahead). And the defense adjusted pretty nicely the second half against the Jags....look at the numbers.
And I dont know how you can say the Jax a better "all-around team considering you said they have no offense. (Personally I disagree, they have two solid RBs with a solid QB, and M. Jones has potential)
With that being said, the Colts need to figure things out with their running game or it is going to be another early exit in the playoffs

I am going to have to fight you on that....Marvin and Wayne are having pretty good years, with Marvin leading the league in yards and is pretty high up on catches. Stokley is a solid and proven 3rd WR option when he comes back healthy. I really don't know much about Cinci's tight ends but Indy has some good ones with Dallas Clark being the primary receiving TE.
It's definitely a debatable point.

I think with Marvin/Chad and Reggie/Housh it's pretty close. I'll give Marvin the slight advantage over Johnson right now and call Wayne and Housh a push. The biggest difference lies the No. 3 receiver. I'm not so sure Chris Henry isn't in the same league as Wayne and Housh. For now I'll put him just a step below, and while Stokley is still good, he's not in Henry's league. I think him and the Bengals No. 4 receiver, Kelley Washington, are comparable. The Colts definately have the advantage at TE, but I just like the Bengals four threats at WR more than what Indy brings.

Colts offense destroys their offense. JAX defense is definitely better, but it's much closer than the offenses. The Colts have been playing without Corey Simon, FS Bob Sanders missed the last game, and Freeney has been banged up since week 1.

Colts offense destroys their offense. JAX defense is definitely better, but it's much closer than the offenses. The Colts have been playing without Corey Simon, FS Bob Sanders missed the last game, and Freeney has been banged up since week 1.
I don't think either team is clear cut above the other. Either could win on any given Sunday.

Just like the Panthers were supposed to run away with the NFC. And how your Patriots were supposed to lose the AFC East to the supposed-to-be good Dolphins.

The Panthers will win the NFC South the way they did last year.
Last year the Falcons started 2-1, Panthers 1-2, exact same as last year
Panthers are easily the best NFC south team.
And I said Jax will win that game, that's my prediction, get over it.

Boston sports fans used to be like that nice guy in the movies that everyone roots for and REALLY hopes gets the girl in the end. Well, after he got the girl, everyone was SOOOOOO happy for him. Julius Jones ran in a TD from like 4 yards out. Haynesworth takes down the Cowboys RG in the process..as the play ends Haynesworth rips off the RG's helmet, kicks him in the back and then stomps right on the RG's helmetless face right near his right eye. It was disgusting.
Then like a coward, piece of shit that he is, he's pleading his case to Jeff Fisher, who's face was purple in fury, screaming at his player to get his ass off the field and to the locker room. He was promptly tossed from the game.
The Cowboys RG left the field with a towel over his eye which I'm sure was covering a lot of blood.

The Bengals are learning the hard way what happens to good teams in the NFL. More teams are paying attention to them, and they have learned how to attack them, while they play a brutal first place schedule. They've got their asses kicked the last 2 weeks by physical run first teams with defenses that create confusion for the offense. I predicted this before the season started.

No shit... And I'm a Pats fan.
That said, Brady had another horrible first half. Gabriel bailed him out on the first TD. The 2nd half was a piece of cake- I've never seen a Pats running game like this.
The Colts/Jets game was unbelievable. I was torn- as a Pats fan, you have to root for Indy to win that game and knock the Jets down. However, as a Pats fan, you also have to hate Indy. Regardless, that was a hell of a game for any fan of the game.
Haynesworth's actions disgusted me. The NFL won't have the balls to give him the boot for the season, but they need to set some sort of example. There was another hit like that in the Pats game- just vicious violence for the sake of violence.
Vince Young looked good for about 10 minutes. He showed flashes of what he's going to be capable of. I wish I'd seen Leinart, but it wasn't on anywhere in my area.
All in all, a good day of the NFL game. It's the first time this season a Patriots fan can feel good about the team.

I know I bash the Benagls more than I should, but I just cannot help it. They have modeled their team after the Colts, and the no huddle attack they both run seemed unstopable most of last year. Jacksonville showed the league how to stop the Colts offensively, but didn't have the offensive personel to get a victory.
San Diego and Pittsburgh did by stopping the run with a nickle package, and abusing Manning while scoring enough points to get the win. The Bengals are seeing that same strategy now, and have been manhandled the last 2 weeks. When you look at their schedule they play almost every physical team in the league, and they're going to struggle to win each and every week.
Palmer has maybe lost half a step coming off surgury, and suddenly he looks like Kurt Warner back there. Bengals fans have to hold their breath every time he drops back because he's putting the ball on the turf so much.
They also have to deal with the fact thay they're not sneaking up on people anymore.

in 1999 in 16 games, he threw for 4353 yds, 41 td, 13 int, 5 lost fumbles...= great year
in 2000 in 11 games, he threw for 3429 yds, 21 td, 18 int, 1 lost fumble....= ok year
in 2001 in 16 games, he threw for 4830 yds, 36 td, 22 int, 4 lost fumbles...= great year
Those are the only years where he really did anything at all. And if you consider 2000 a GREAT year like you said, then you have very low expectations of QB IMO.

Ray Lewis is the most overrated player in the league. He made his name in the league playing behind 700 pounds of defensive tackles in their prime, and when they left his play slipped tremendously. He was awful in the middle of a 3-4, so he bitched and moaned until they went back to the 4-3 and made them draft big guys to play in front of him. When you look at what Urlacher does without the beef in front of him or what Farrior does taking on Centers and Guards in the 3-4 it makes Lewis seem just okay in my book. The guy I compare him to the most is Mike Peterson who also benefits from playing with giants in front of him.

Yeah, 3-4 is 3 lineman and 4 linebackers. Comparing the two when there is no track record is just speculation, but Farrior out performed Lewis when they were both playing in the same system. If you put Farrior in the Baltimore defense he wouldn't perform like Lewis because he doesn't have the sideline to sideline game in my opinion.
This argument could be had at every position in the front 7. Would you rather have Casey Hampton or Tommy Harris at DT? Would you rather have Dwight Freeney or Richard Seymour at DE? Joey Porter or Derrick Brooks at OLB? It all depends on what system they fit best into and most of the time these guys would be playing different position is the other base defesne.

He's awful Brooks, we shoudl have signed George when the chance came up. Not sure who's the best option though. and yeah, they are bad. Can't run, can't pass, can't pass protect, the run d blows, and the secondary gets shredded like carrots. Not exactly a winning formula! If they win more than two games I'll be shocked. In theroy Moss would be nice, but he wouldn't get the ball enough to be happy. I don't think he's as bad as some people make him out to be, but playing for a proven winner might not make up for getting 3 catches a game.

Culpepper isn't nearly as big of a problem as the offensive line is. He hasn't played well so far, but the line has been absolutely horrid. They aren't good enough to even establish a running game and then once the Dolphins become one-dimensional teams are still getting heavy pressure on Culpepper with rushing four and dropping seven against the pass. I do, however, think it's time to give Culpepper a break and make sure his knee is fully healthy. Let Harrington start a game or two because this team really needs something to jump start it.

You'd immediately regret it if you put him in. Oh man, those were the DAYS!

It's way too early to judge receivers in the first year. I don't think you can make an accurate call on that, unless a receiver is having a Moss-like impact his rookie year, for a minimum of two years. More likely three.
Well considering Jackson was considered the best reciever out of the draft last year, before the draft. And I have seen both play in the NFL so far, and I think it's accurate to say LIKE I SAID, at this point in the NFL Jackson is better than Holmes.

I still don't know how I feel about the Holmes pick. I thought he was the best reciever on the board, while Jackson was the best athlete at the position. I'd always go with the guy with production rather than 40 times.
It's all such a crap shoot anyways. The next to last pick in the draft has been the best rookie receiver so far followed by the kid from Green Bay.

You said the Steelers made a "booboo" in picking Holmes over Jackson. I said it's far too early to tell. This is true, even though Jackson has looked better over four NFL games. I didn't dispute that last notion. One thing you do have wrong, however, is that Jackson was the consensus No. 1 WR in the draft. I saw many people who had them each as the top receiver in a very down year for receivers.

Some people had Moss at number 1 as well.
If these guys came out this year they wouldn't even be considered in the first round.
The Steelers wanted Whitnerbut the Billls took him about 15 spots higher than anyone thought he would go. He was rookie of the month though, so it seems like a good pick

Y'all made a booboo in picking Holmes instead of Chad Jackson in the first round. Jackson has been nursing a hammy, but he is def better than Holmes.
for the guy who says judging a team's season off 2 or 3 weeks is inaccurate, how can base a guy's career of 4 weeks into his rookie season?

Holmes is also in a completely different situation than Jackson. Tom Brady throwing the ball? Or Spleen-less Roethlisberger/Batch? NE runs more 3-4 wide sets than the Steelers. I am still surprised that the Steelers didn't go for more size with their WR. Both Wilson and Ward are listed under 6', having a 6'5" project would seem to be a more viable pick than what Holmes has brought to the table. But, there's also a reason I'm not involved in the NFL because if there's one thing the Steelers do well it's the draft. In fact, the AFC North (recently) has been doing pretty damn well with their draft.

He was the concensus number one reciever in the draft. It was suprising to most that the Pats were able to land him in the second round. More people though the was the better, than people thought Holmes was.

Did you read where I said 'so far'. And I based my opinion on their college careers, I just think that Jackson is the more talented reciever.
Saying that is COMPLETELY different than disagreeing with people who say the Falcons are a championship team after week 2, so don't give me that shit.
EDIT: And speaking of nitpicking posts....

I'd probably agree with that. And I can not WAIT to see where Calvin Johnson ends up. That man is a phenom, I have been fortunate enough to see him play a lot here in GA, and he is very good. I only pray he could fall the end of the first round so the Pats could grab him! lol

Concensus would mean that everyone thought Jackson was the better receiver. This wasn't the case. From what I read it was really close on who the best receiver was in the draft.

It's all just opinions though. I was thrilled when we landed Holmes. I was shocked either of them were there when we traded up to get him.

He'll be off the board really early. I have to imagine Quinn, Peterson, and Johnson will be considered for the first pick depending on what your team needs. If it's the Titans it'll be Johnson. The Raiders would probably draft Quinn.

I was ticked when the Giants traded down when they had Holmes in their lap. There hasn't been any sign of Sinorice Moss so far which bothers me even more about the whole situation.

We'll both agree that Holmes was the best reciever available. I'm still waiting on that guy to show up in Pittsburgh.
Isn't Moss hurt?

I don't know if Moss is hurt or not. I remember he was nursing a leg injury in training camp, but still, it's been pretty disappointing so far.
