I play drums and recently started writing electronic jazz type stuff. And I scheduled some studio time over the last week, and have been going nuts getting one song 100% completed. On the track all the drums and some snyth parts are digital, but the bass, guitar, and keys are played live. I would have liked to recorded the drums myself, but I'm still saving up money to add electronics to my kit, but I think they turned out good regardless.

I'm just looking for some feedback....This is really the first song I've completed and recorded, I have a bunch of semi-songs and sections of music I've written before and never actually added them to a single song structure.

And in other news.............here is my other band's newest song. "In Vaine" I doubt many people in this forum care for this type of metal, but I'm putting it up anyway.

Phil Collins? Did you get back with Genesis?

Seriously though, it was very catchy. I liked it.

I liked it...sounded real good for a home recording....For the first one, however, I think you need to add some dramatic shift somewhere in there and then bring it back to your original jam.

I got another one for ya....

This one I can't take complete credit for though. The song was basically just drums and keys to start and then I didn't like it, so our bass player added all these layers that he wrote 100% with just his laptop. He added echo effects to everything recorded, and added synth orchestra lines in the background, with a synth acoustic guitar section, and some electronic effects scattered throughout. I literally couldn't tell you all the stuff he did, because the song sounds completely different aside from the basic melody and time. He just sent it to me an hour ago, and I haven't even heard it since the original one which was recorded weeks ago.

I kinda wanted this band to be completely instrumental, but I can't help thinking of adding a female voice in harmony with the synth sections. And I just can't believe the majority of this stuff is made with a computer. I'm blown.
