Ok, so me and a couple of my friends are thinking about playing for our school's variety show. We would like to do a medley and then play Halloween by DMB. The thing is, we don't really know what we should do for a medley. We were thinking about Californication by RHCP and maybe some other songs. Does anybody have any suggestions for songs (any band)?

whoever is singing halloween better be able to do it justice which is difficult.

Exactly why we're doing it instrumentally.

Don't do it then.

As far as a variety show, you're doing an instrumental version of an already-obscure song that most people don't know. Don't alienate your audience that much. I'd suggest keeping it somewhat familiar in your song selection...

Do you have a singer for other songs?

Well, if you don't have a singer and you're going all instrumental, I vote for "Green Onions" by Booker T and the MG's.

Of course, a 40 minute "Dark Star" works too....or hey, based on your name, you could always pull out "Tweezer" :D

I wish we could pull out Tweezer, it would be awesome, but alas, I am not that talented on guitar. Halloween is obscure, and we're doing it instrumentally, but we are going to do it, because it is a wicked fun song to play and its going to showcase our drummer in the outro.

Funny... just came across that song the other day & it's been stuck in my head since. Downloaded it on iTunes.
