:cool

Starting off 1-1 with a tough loss to a VERY good Jacksonville team, then only allowing 3 points to the Washington offense.

Good start so far. :thumbsup

The pats sucked that year so bad. How the Deuce did we end up at that game?
Oh yeah, the AFC champ. game was Pats v. Jacksonville and Jacksonville decided to not be good that day. Crap.

I hate Drew Bledsoe so much:BANG :BANG

as a Redskins fan, generally i would have some sort of rebuttal. but Sunday night was a debacle. I took the metro to work on Monday morning and saw a guy in a Cowboys hat, and I couldn't even say anything. terrible game, offensively and defensively.

interestingly enough - who was the QB Bledsoe was facing in that AFC championship mentioned above, when the Jags sucked it up? and who was at the helm for the skins the other night?

veeeery interesting.

alright, i'm in. we looked very good against washington. and judging by the way TO played, he can sit out as long as he wants. i guess he is good for drawing double-coverage, but he couldn't catch a ball to save his life. D looks good. let's not forget that this is the same washington offense that burned us last year on monday night. bye week, then we got the titans. so we should be pretty rested going in to philly.

and to the dude who said dallas was overrated, you're from nc and you have a yankees avatar, so logic says giants or panthers. both of which are far more overrated then the cowboys.

Ok, buddy the Cowboys have the biggest hype of anyone going into this season. I would take the Giants skilled players over any of your skilled players including TO. Thats going to work out wonderfully for you. You guys are by far wayyyy more overated than the Giants.

As much as it pains me to agree with a yankees fan, I'd have to agree with this. The only team that is slightly more overrated than the cowboys is Miami, and Miami is 0-2 right now.

The Giants would absolutely shred Dallas.

go Eagles...I mean yeah, I hate Dallas too...but to be honest...I saw some good play early on in the Jax game, and I am pretty sure that both Cowboy and Eagles fans both hate TO, so who cares what he does...Sunday was a Washington debacle...season is very early to see how it will go...let's talk week 8 when the season will be coming into focus!

i'm from Dallas and grew up worshiping the Cowboys in their glory days. Really wish they could return to that glory and they have all the tools, but Parcells isn't a franchise building Coach, he's a rebuild and skip out type coach. Also, they need a strong QB and Bledsoe isn't the guy. They may need to bring a new coach in in the next few years to take over cause I'm not too sure about Parcells or even Bledsoe for that matter.

Serious question, because no one can give me a straight answer:
Why is it that when TO was on the Eagles, before his final debacle, all of Philly kissed his ass and thought he was amazing, but now they are all claiming that no one ever liked him?

nah. the giants looked HORRIBLE against Philly. Philly gave you that win and now you're all thinking your team is superbowl bound. pffftttt...please.

No one said Superbowl bound..and gave us the win..I bet Mcnabb runs all over your d this week. I forgot the eagles d said "here is 24 unanswered points"

Dude, Tiki Barber had a way worse o line than the one he has now and he still rushed for a 1000 yards. Oh thats right Tiki didnt finish top 3 in mvp votes last year, that was Jones..:lol

the Jaguars. arguably the best team in the league right now, and got lucky enough to score 17 pts on them when Pitt scored 0. i consider that a moderate success, especially with our shoddy O-line and questionable-at-best QB.

Panthers are overrated every year, so I just forget them all together. Anything those morons Stuart Scott or Tony Kornheiser say, I take it as the most idiotic things ever, and they are always up Carolina's ass.

Dallas isn't GOOD. Giants are damn close to it. The way they totally stuffed Philly last weekend was pretty nice. Not that Philly is much better than pop-warner level, but still.

i find it funny as thought you claim the Giants are some kind of losing team. (meaning you said ANOTHER as though it's expected.) In case you didn't notice, they barely lost to arguably the best team in the NFL, and that was only because the G-men defense didn't know how to catch that night. Had the D actually caught a couple of those balls that went to them, the Giants would have beat the Colts.

Dallas MIGHT go 10-6 this year; I havent seen their schedule, but that's my prediciton.

I've been a Dallas fan since I was 5. I'm not gonna lie the Giants are very good this year but they won't win more than 10 games. Philly on the other hand is better than they were pre-T.O. and will win 11 games this year. Dallas is the best in our division. That Jacksonville game is crap because we had a great first couple of drives but then our game got ugly and we played pretty ugly the rest of it. The game against Washington is a good example of how good we will be this year.

Dallas wins 12 games and the division
Dallas loses to Seattle in the NFC Championship 20-17

fair enough. But some things to consider:
1. The fact that you've been a fan since you were 5 makes no difference as to how the team is. I've been a fan of NE since I was that age, if not younger, and I don't claim that my level of love for NE has anything to do with how good they are. (The pre-game BJs I give to Tommy to ease him up are!)
2. I agree, the JAX game is crap, but JAX is really good this year. They shut out the Steelers, which is no easy feat. Granted, I think the Steelers are overrated, but that's another story.
3. No way in hell Drew "I think I'll throw the ball and hope someone on my team catches it" Bledsoe is going to get to the NFC Championship game. The NFC Championship game. I say it will be Giants v. Seattle
4. The Eagles suck.
5. The Eagles really suck.
6. Let's all laugh at the Eagles!
7. The Washington game is not at all indicative. That's like saying "WOOOOOOO we are going to KILL because we beat Houston!". Washington is unfortunately terrible this year, so beating them is pretty much boasting that you could beat a high school JV team.
8. Hahahahahha Eagles lost a 17 point lead in Overtime :lol

One decent argument? :lol This is coming from the guy who thinks the cowboys running game vs the giants running game is a toss up.:haha

Our qb is better
Our rb is better
Add that to two good receivers, and a pro bowl TE

Our DE's blow your team out of the water..Strahan, and Osi..Nuff said.
Pierce, Arrington, and Emmons...

We will see when they play like you said...

But dont tell me I havent made a good argument when your telling me Eli is ok, running game is a toss up, your actually rooting for that low-life me first player TO.

you got the wrong guy, chief. better backread.

i wouldn't argue that your qb is better. he is young and does not have as much experience as bledsoe. bledsoe may be old and immobile, but i would argue he's a better qb than manning.

your running back is better. i won't argue that. but jones isn't horrible. had he not been injured for some of the last two seasons, he would've been right up there with the best of them.

i will argue that our receivers are better than yours. TO may be a waste of a life, but the guy can play football. add to that glenn and crayton, i'll take dallas.

our te has been to the pro bowl, too, and has been putting up better numbers than shockey lately.

defensively, i'll call it even for now. with Ware and Spears and a great secondary, dallas is definitely up there as one of the top defenses in the league.

i'm not saying the giants are awful by any means. i'm just saying that you're showing a lot of ignorance by saying the cowboys are as bad as you say they are.

I am not saying the cowboys are bad, if given a decision to be a GM and pick the Giants or the boys..Im picking the Giants. I just feel all the folks telling me the Cowboys are a super bowl team, and not mentioning the possibilty of the G-Men is also ignorant. I dont think the Giants are going to win it this year. I don't think there is a clear cut team better than the other out of the Giants and Cowboys. Here's my breakdown.

QB
Manning/Bledsoe - Manning, but that's not by as much as you'd think. Until Eli can prove he can do anything consistently and won't finish the season like last year, his advantage is slight.

RB
Barber/Jones, Barber and whoever else the Cowboys the ball to - Tiki. He's one of the five best backs in the NFL.

WR
Owens, Glenn, Witten/Burress, Toomer, Shockey - The Cowboys trio, and I don't think this is as close as most people do. I'm don't think Burress is much better than Glenn, and a healthy TO is easily the best in this list.

D
I like the Cowboys D slightly more than I like the Giants.

i am very happy tonight. what a 4th quarter. tony romo could be the real deal. im convinced so far. i feel bad for drew though, i didnt want to give up on him but uh after tonight, i did give up on him. the panthers are a good team and basically keyshawn and steve were shut down after the 1st quarter.

i just hope we dont take washington lightly...

the cowboy o-line dosent suck either, its just tough to handle a blitz every single play when defenses know bledsoe was the statue of liberty. again, to the giants, at the meadowlands it will NOT be 36-22. believe that.

I think the Falcons are more likely to beat them at this point than the Giants, but Atlanta, NY, New Orleans and even Tampa Bay and Philly are all capable of beating the Cowboys. I also expect Romo to have a hiccup game or two before the season is over.

No, I really don't. I still feel the Giants are a better team then Dallas, and we have beaten you already...We have one more game vs each other. Until you guys overtake first place and beat us in a few weeks. I think that apology you want is a little pre-mature. The standings still show us ahead, and our victory vs you guys just helps my argument that the Giants are a better team. Don't go Michael Irvin on me and say that because of a few wins you guys are the team to beat again...Oh, I know about how Romo is the QB and not that "statue of liberty" Bledsoe...

There's nothing wrong with it, hell I'd like it; The Cowboys D' is my fantasy defense.

But the way the league is and the fact that they have a young inexperienced QB - the chances of "easily" going 6-0 or even 5-1 is unlikely.

Basically, it is possible but highly improbable

Anyways, great win for you guys last week - the defense matched up great with the Colts offense - the defense pressured Manning all game and punished the Colts with hard hits throughout the game.

true. yet eli looks like a lost schoolgirl out on the field, whereas romo has shown his poise. you can't disagree that these are two completely different teams from when they've played before. and i realize you guys are injured on defense. you can play that card if you want to. but i will argue that the cowboys are the new team to beat in the nfc east.

i also don't want to hear about how you guys destroyed romo. he was thrown into a game that was already lost. he also didn't get a week to prepare as he was still second string at that point.

dallas's offense is coming around and the defense looks ridiculous right now. i've been a fan of this team far too long to know that we're not going to win out. hell, if we lost tomorrow it wouldn't surprise me. but as of right now, the giants have a lot more problems than the cowboys do and i would argue that dallas is now the better team.

i would think the bears would get a first round bye. and the way things are looking, the cowboys might get the other. the bears will probably have to play carolina. and we all know how that goes.

that's how i've been the last 6 years. when you have people like hutchinson, quincy carter, and drew bledsoe starting at qb for your team, it's hard to get any momentum going in the confidence department. it's only natural to still be scared before every game. hopefully, romo can keep slowly dissolving this fear.

for the next day and a half, dallas is technically the second seed in the nfc. let's go titans, redskins and packers!

ESPNs like that with everyone. remember donovan mcnabb in 2000? this game wasnt even so much about romo, it was about a shootout on the road with the cowboys never giving up the lead when they had it. kudos to everyone on the team. TO must stop dropping balls though, hes too good for it.

My theory is the exact opposite. ESPN was late in jumping on the Brady bandwagon when he took the Pats to the Super Bowl his first year so they're making sure the same thing doesn't happen with Romo. Instead, they're totally overdoing it.

Also, today's game was fun to watch, but it wasn't a shootout.

this week won't secure it, but it will help. i think we'll still be behind the hawks as far as conference wins, though. and we're still not out of the woods yet. we have to go to atlanta and then play the eagles at home. i won't be surprised if we drop the falcons game. we're gonna need some help to get that second seed. but we look like the best team in the nfc right now, so we'll see what happens.

Can you blame them? He has played 6 games. Given, they were all terrific performances but Rex did the same thing in the beginning of the season and Chi fans were placing Grossman with the elite QBs in the league (Manning, Brady etc..) and look at him now (how do you get a 1.3 QB rating :freak )

Not saying he is or isn't legit, but it takes more than a third of a season to be considered legit and rightly so.

Dallas is definitely the hottest team in the NFL right now. OH and Owens is a douche - does he try to get negative attention? He reminds of a 6 y/o child desperate for attention regardless of it being negative or positive. Such a waste of talent.

depends on how you look at it.

it's a big loss cause we probably lose the bye week going into the playoffs. it's a big loss if this starts some kind of downward trend the cowboys can't pull out of.

on the other hand, we probably now get to play a 8-8 or 9-7 team in the playoffs, and therefore might get a chance to get to the second round.

note: an offense is only as sick as a defense lets it be. and our defense made me sick...such a poor showing.

The way the Sean coached was the best I've seen in a very long time. Honestly I think Bill is the most overated coach in the league and it showed last night. This is not the time we need to be blown out considering how close the post season is. Thats why Indy isn't even going to get past the divisional round. That pretty much demolished any chance of us getting a first round bye so that sucks. I didn't realize the Saints were that good but I definatly give them props.

Just a funny story though I was at the game and there were more Saints fans than Cowboys fans and the crowd was cheering really loudly towards the end and the guy next to me was a serious Cowboy fan and he was really drunk so he yelled Ya! Well Hurricane Katrina! I couldn't help but laugh but that was a cheap shot. Oh well it was fun anyway.

I'm excited they are a playoff caliber team but anyone on the Tony Romo super bowl savior bandwagon needs to jump off now. Sure I was excited as hell to see the kid play well but I still remember his 3 interceptions against the giants and know hes now perfect. I think everyone needs to be a little more humble and realize were not/ nor ever were clear favorites to crush the NFC.

By the way did anyone watch around the horn today? Did all the panelists say the cowboys sucka d the Saints are gonig to the super bowl? They've given up 28 points in the first half to a mediocre Falcons team. If I were a Cowboys fan I would be very, very worried about the defense after giving up 40+ points last week and 28 in the first half this week so far.
